Do you help homeless/poor people in your country ?

I wonder what people think about those boxes for donating that are for sale for ten dollars at the grocery store?

Yep, and the irony is that my wife & I just made a donation this morning to our local Capuchin soup kitchen as they do great work and don't try and convert people.

BTW, the most efficient international relief agency is Catholic Relief Services, and even the Mennonite contribute to it.
Back in the 70's, as Saigon was falling, my uncle was head of Catholic Relief. He was trying so hard to get people out he almost didn't make it himself.

Whatever country I'm in, I do what I can. It's often hard to know who's genuine, who's really gonna use the money. So much problems with drugs and so forth. Although in a way, the amount of suffering someone addicted to some substances goes through when they're deprived...?

I'll agree that giving to charities supporting the homeless, supporting sustainable projects to elevate people out of poverty, that's the kind of thing that's reliable.

As things stand, I'm on track to become a monk about a year and a half from now. Take vows a couple years after that, gotta do a novitiate. When the time comes, I'll give all my remaining money to charity, or to people I know who could use it, etc. I'll need to research well to find worthy causes.

And vaya con Dios on your journey.

Where did you get that picture??? It looks like Anu Prakash who does the local ABC News here in the Detroit area.
That is a good question. I looked up your profile and I saw her name so I googled it and I found her picture. She is a News anchor. We do not know why you have her on your profile.

I think it possibly goes back to a discussion that I had whereas I mentioned that she looks a lot like a woman I was seriously involved with about 50 years ago, but I ended up instead with another woman, and we'll have been married for 50 years ago this upcoming March. Long story since it involved me falling in love with two women at the same time and they also falling in love with me. What a circus that turned out to be, but Mother Nature took care of that.

BTW, it's 50 years later, and I still love them both, and the story even got crazier earlier this year. No, I am not having an affair-- never have, never will.

Hello everybody
This man pretend that he is homeless (hiding cameras), see how the people helped him !!

This happened in Algeria, my country !

If you have some similiare videos about helping homeless people in your country , just post it :)

I have no videos. But i do help the homeless with contributions to the food bank, and each fall I gather with the atheist community to hand out clean warm clothing to people living on the street. And there are random acts, such as buying meals, etc. I do not often hand out cash to people on the street for a couple of reasons. First, there are a lot of impostors who have just decided to do this for a living. Second, if they have a drug or alcohol addiction, they will just spend it on the drug of choice instead of food.

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
Yes, I teach life and job skills to homeless and underprivileged women.

At my self storage facility, we often get people trying to live there.
If they keep a low profile, I cooperate.
If they don't, then I counsel them on how to do it.
(Basically, don't inconvenience or creep out the other tenants.)
They either get the message or the boot.

Note:
"Boot" is not literal.
I'm more of a sandals & socks kind of guy.
