yes, the whole forum is a bundle of hipocracies. one of thier branch sites is a rant for How God Hates Child molesters, yet they preach they have unconditional love. what ticked me off is when they said that buddhists will chant thier annoying chant in Hell. that was the final straw of my tolerance for thier *christian-ness*.
Sounds pretty inbred. Like they don't have enough diversity on their site to make anyone do some serious thinking.

Bill committed suicide at age 17, after being assaulted in a hate crime because he was bisexual. Frankly, reading your rejection and justification was one of the most difficult things I have had to face since his death. In your words I saw what my son decided he could not face in the world every day - all the homophobia, hatred and fear of who he was as a person.

I think it is a mistake for all who oppose homosexuality not to read other books than the bible. There is tons of research available regarding this subject which clearly indicates that homosexual orientation is NOT a choice, never has been, never will be. (Remember when we thought witches were of the devil and burned them, only to find out later they were mentally ill?)

Bottom line: Homosexual orientation is NOT a lifestyle or a choice! It doesn't matter what one believes about homosexuality. Studies are being conducted and concluded every month indicating that choice is not a factor in determining sexual orientation. Approximately 10% of each generation is homosexual. It would be much more interesting if approximately 10% of each generation made a choice to become homosexual.

The whole issue of homosexuality is rooted in uneducated and emotional responses as to how revolting it would be for us to engage in homosexual acts. These notions have been exacerbated throughout history by biblical authors who had the same contempt for these acts. In the bible, however, God could be blamed for the hatred which has justified and reinforced our position.

I loved this post but in all fairness...

Moses, if he really is the author of Lev, and Paul could be blamed for the hatred.

Although I am not gay or interested in becoming gay, I think it is unfair that people are mistreated for their own ways. If a person is gay, why is it a bad thing to the people that commit these hatecrimes? Because they don't understand, that's why. A person being gay shouldn't affect hatecrime committers...

or ignorance. . . . .a view of that day which has long since been discredited. (I just didn't want to say hatred.)

I believe that Homosexuality results mainly from upbringing, with possibly some genetics.

If it results mainly from upbringing, why is this woman on the other forum even having this issue with her son...surely she's bought him up to know what a sin the whole thing is?

This also leaves me with the question as to why I'm NOT homosexual, considering Bastet is my sister and we were raised in the same house by the same people, surely I should march to the same drum?

Ignorance+fear=hate

They don't understand homosexuality
They fear homosexuality
Therefore they hate homosexuals

Shouldn't they just hate homosexuality and treat the homosexuals as they would anyone else?

I am not gay, but I have a lot of friends who are. I don't necessarily like going into detail about the subject of homosexuality, but a friend is a friend. I probably do stuff that would bug them. :)

There is a majority of traditional Christians who are riding the band-wagon that people go to hell for anything they do that the traditional Christians consider wrong. It's like they believe in an unpredictable, unknowable, undependable god and can be saved or unsaved by "accident". There are religions that state that their god is unpredictable, unknowable, and undependable; but if any god is going to qualify as the true God then He has the ability to be predictable, knowable, and dependable.

The reason I'm bringing this up is because if the Christian Bible is to be taken literally or true, as Christians generally say it is, then shouldn't anyone who believes the Christian way of salvation be considered a Christian. The Christian Bible says that "whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (John 3:16) and it goes on to say that "God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world" (John 3:17).

And what about Christians that try to force their faith and beliefs on others, do they happen to be able to cut the verse out of the Bible that says "If anyone hears my words, and does not believe, I do not judge them: because I did not come to judge the world, but to reconcile the world to God." (John 12:47) Not honestly without admitting that they do not believe every word of the Bible is true.

And if the Christian Bible is true then how can a human being who claims to be a Christian judge anyone without making their disbelief of the Christian Bible bogus because it says "There is only one personality who is the source of direction and can reconcile or reject anyone. Who are you to think that you can corectly judge anyone else? (James 4:12)

Are condemning Christians not disobeying the Christian Bible by making it difficult to believe in their God: "Be careful that the beliefs of your faith do not become stumbling blocks to anyone else, in any way." (I Corinthians 8:9)
Or maybe the Christians trying to express their faith in their scriptural text by the Almighty want to be judged themselves: "Judge not, so that you will not be judged." (Matthew 7:1) Somehow I doubt that they are trying to serve God for the purpose of being judged to hell by Him.

There is a place in the Bible where a believer can believe that they are going to live eternally in heaven but will be kicked out almost as soon as they get there. So many Christians claim to believe the Bible but do the opposite of the teachings of Jesus. This really goes along with Rev 22:19: "And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book". The Gospel of salvation is the book that contains this prophecy and people constantly, even without acknowledging it, hold people back from salvation by judging and condemning them.

According to the Bible that Christians claim to live by, It appears that God has a big eraser that will remove people's names from the book of life, even after they have already entered the gates of heaven and arrive at their great white throne judgment for shorting the gospel of forgiveness from people who need it and do not make it to heaven because of being convinced by Christians that they can not be saved.

There is plenty of materieal here for nonbelievers to use, and if Christians are going to believe their own Bible then they need to accept the faith of anyone who believes and without condemnation as well as not use uncertainty, pressure, or scare tactics to try to manipulate people to believe. I am a believer and encourage strong faith without manipulation or condemnation. (see www.unidiversal.com)

I'm hoping that this attitude will change with time too. My heterosexual friends see no problem with their telling me intimate details of what they got up to Saturday night...and yet when I make one tiny innuendo (and I mean innuendo...not anything that is actually directly connected to my own sex life), they cover their ears, and (literally) run away, squealing "EWWWWW!!!!"

This verse needs its context

John 12:48-9

He that rejecteth me and recieveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day. For I have not spoken of myself; but the Father which has sent me, He gave me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.

It is true that it is wrong for a Christian to judge though and we should not. We should however take the gosple to people, tell them of the love Jesus hold for everyone, and we should denounce sin in all of its forms.

i respect your beliefs. even if some of your beliefs are to go door to door. but people should be wise and respectful of other peoples beliefs. if you knock on thier door, you have to respect them. or then it would not promote freedom and respect.

i wouldnt advise going door to door attacking homosexuality. but you can have peaceful rallies. everyone has freedom do that. i have the freedom to form a rally and shout that homosexuality is not wrong.

whatever floats your boat man.
