I'm not anti-growth, btw....I just don't think it should be seen as
a solution to problems, since it comes with problems of its own,
particularly when pursued by increasing our population.

As a California educator, I can confirm that this is nonsense. We are badly underfunded, but we're in a better position than we have been since the recession, and the threats aren't having too many students - the way state funding works, we get apportionment per head as far as the student body goes, so if there is a sudden decrease in the number of students, funding will also disappear.

We don't inquire about immigration status; we get paid to educate, not do the INS' job for them. So how could a child's legal status affect funding? Most of my students are "on the dole" regardless of their race, so that seems like a pretty spurious point. My county would not be any richer without children in it.

it is unlikely that I....61yrs of age....will retire in the same way as my grandparents
(even my granddad went back to work in his 70's)(in the 70's)
my children will not retire at all
anyone under 20 now.....will live in debt
and the national debt will be theirs altogether
anyone sucking up resources now.....is not helping
and yeah....what they earn they send back to Mexico
and yeah ....they communal a house to avoid buying property
and yeah.... they traffic drugs, guns, and money
and yeah ....their government will not stop the trend....

You can't steal a job from someone. Like, you just can't do it. The closest thing that can happen is that an unprincipled capitalist purposefully drives down wages through taking advantage of the poorest segments of the society. But for one worker to take another's job is downright impossible.

Very true. This has nothing to do with immigrants though, and indeed they are in a far worse position. The illegal immigrant is not eligible for as many benefits as you seem to think they are, and social security is one of the things denied them. And they face deportation at any moment, good luck holding on to a bank account in such an eventuality. Even if its the case that you are somehow in competition for the same job as an illegal immigrant, you stand to gain a lot more from it.
Yes, but there's only one population you are suggesting stealing a future from in response. All children "suck up resources". But you only want to hurt some children. Because of their skin color, not their economic potential. Your easy (and incorrect) assumption that all immigrants are from Mexico in your next sentence betrays your real reason for hating some children and not others. It has nothing to do with the economic investment of raising a child.
And while they are here they are living on what, air and sunlight? What are you buying that they aren't?

Wait... all kids are on the dole. They don't add one whit to the GNP. However, those going to school are on their way to being productive citizens. They are an investment and a good one at that. Most who come to America, legally or illegally, are here to stay. Refugees very rarely go back to their COO and that's good for us. We want to capitalize on our investment and the only way for that to happen is for them to stay.
We will always have Negative Nellies with all sorts of biases like @Thief rail against immigrants. They can't see past their fears and their misunderstandings of how incredibly important these people are to the USA.
