For me personally there is no right religion, true religion is found with you, the organization called religion is no more than a shell of what true religion is, its someone else's view of god or whatever.

The way I see it... all religions are "true".

The "truth" of a religion is not found in the literal, historical accuracy of its lore and mythology... but in a religion's ability to contribute strength, power, wisdom, and beauty to the Weltanschauung of one who resonates with it.

The history of religious beliefs is a little dodgy over the eons of warfare and the constant attempts to erase parts of history. Various religions literally destroyed what evidence there was of previous religions.

The best I can do is tell you Man worshiped the God Beasts (Animals) before the polytheistic pantheons... Man worshiped the Great Wolf, The Great Serpent, The Great Wyrm, A sea monster, The Mighty Auroch, a Cow, some Dragons, so on and so forth. Later various super powerful deities came into the scene like Zeus, Odin, Thor and others leading campaigns to kill these beasts. Regardless of whether or not the God Beasts were slain their worshiped was systematically outlawed and the Polytheistic pantheons were instated, this was like back in the stone age 10,000 BC. And those beasts were probably worshiped for eons, or vice versa with the Gods in various forms.

As millennia passed the contemporary religions came to fruition through prophets and martyrs and political endorsement.

As far as Gods religion, the best I can tell you is don't be a coward, whore and kin slayer and you should be fine. Most of the gods followers will lick their heels and bide at their every beck and call, don't be like that either.

But even pantheism is dodgy.. You have the Gods and their predecessors the "Giants", but there is little evidence the Giants were worshiped prior to the Gods over-throwing the Giants, but there is evidence some Giants were worshiped, but no pantheons in their entirety, it doesn't look like "organized religion," more like those Giants were infamous throughout the lands.

Hinduism is far more complex, but I never got into it.

Why do we need to believe within oneself as a group rather than god?

I don't understand. What do you mean by employer in your question?

If you're asking what I think you are, it's because "god" is not someone coming in. I would highly assume god is already in a person. He/she/it is who makes a person who they are. It's their life. It IS life.

Humans are social beings. We gravitate towards people who think similar to us. Different cultures gravitate to each other because of shared experience, beliefs, and so forth.

Religion is the relationship with have with our given faith. It's the core of all traditions whether it is within ourselves and thus shows in our actions or outside of us to show us how to act. If you don't follow or practice what you believe, then where is the belief? It's just that, a belief.

So, I'd say for god-believers, religion is believing in god. It's your relationship with god. It's what you do for him or in him (or however you phrase it). It's everything that's a part of you.

When you come together with like-minded people, then, as social human beings, we tend to, well, like that. Think of a football game. Loners rather cheer on their own bench while others like to cheer for the same team with their fans.

All in perspective.
