A dream experience

Usually I do not remember dreams, but last night I had one which still burns vividly in my memory. Actually, the mental image has only become more unsettling as I reflect on it.

The dream was a single scene where I saw a number of beings about various locations in my room from the viewpoint of my bed. The appearance of these beings was basically that of the typical "grey alien", each about five or so feet in height. These beings would first manifest into my view as an indistinct smoke or steam, before coalescing into a distinct form. And even then, there was something almost vapour like about them.

Their most sticking feature however was definitely their eyes. Their eyes emitted darkness. And the effect of looking into them was a chilling fear. But I wasn't terrified, and as I was looking into the eyes of the one I could see directly in front of me, falling deeper into its gaze, I wake up.

Now I don't seriously believe that I was abducted by aliens. (I do not believe in extraterrestrials). But the experience is definitely up there as being one of my most bizarre.

But it goes deeper, as I did have another dream a few years ago of being gripped on the face by a large grey hand with four long fingers. As I was being pulled towards the window on the other side of the room, I wake up. That dream has stuck with me too.

Take it for what you will. I'm just going to put it down as a nightmare myself, unless I have another one in the near future. Then I might have to consider talking to someone about these bizarre dreams.

The simple symbol of manipulation springs out at me. Why would gray beings want to manipulate you...Because your charms are a jingle in their pocket?

dreams beyond normal?.....I got one for you....

just another night....many years ago....nothing special about the day as it passed
I went to bed

I saw myself having a good time at one of my favored 'watering holes'
I took a step to meet a pretty girl....and someone took hold of my arm
not turning to see....I gestured to continue and the tug got stronger

I turned to look.....

a Grim Reaper in bright red hood and cape had hold of me, just below the right elbow

I woke up...and now the strange part....

I was laying on my back....which I never do
I can't sleep that way
I was laying corner to corner on the bed
legs together.....hands and arms folded neatly on my chest
the pillow tucked square to my shoulders
the bright red blanket was bordered across my chest under my arms
it flowed smoothly over me all the way over the edge of the bed in all directions
not a wrinkle

as if someone had laid me to rest

and my right arm was numb from the elbow to fingers.....all numb

after the feeling returned, I rolled over and went back to sleep
I rarely sleep so good

I have one about 3 weeks ago

In my dream, I and my dad were just standing in front of our house, talking to neighbors.

It was night at that time.
My home looks dark like it's don't have any electricity at all.

When we open the door, I saw a child figure.
I don't know if he is a boy or a girl because it's to dark. Maybe he is a boy, I think.
He has a very white face, very dark eyes, black mouth, and wearing a white cloth.

Suddenly he is screaming at me.
And then I woke up, and didn't sleep till morning

Maybe some dreams can be caused by paranormal activities. Sometimes it can be explained by scientific reasons.
It can be mean that you have a health problem that you're trying to ignore, or it can be caused by stress.
I'm just sayin' you know

The best way to remember dreams is to wake up slowly and deliberately instead of waking quickly to the sound of a harsh alarms demanding you to pay attention to the physical realities of an unnatural world- and when you find that Buddha in the road, kill Buddha.
But you gotta turn a buck

Who knows? The highly respected psychiatrist Dr. John Mack spent many years studying the alien contact phenomena and has said the boundaries between fantasy and reality are not as clear cut as we generally think. There are real dimensions that can be experienced outside of our normal reality.

Now, that said, I of course don't know much about you or your dream. but I just wanted to say this is indeed a mind-boggling universe.

Not sure what this has to do with my post. If you are just saying experts can sometimes be wrong I don't think anyone would disagree. They can often be correct too.
It wasn't a challenge, just maybe a hope that there is a realization that the accepted sciences of our times are not the gatekeepers of wisdom and are far more behind the times than we wish to admit and some older wisdom's may hold greater weight than them in certain circumstances.

I strongly believe our current science's reach is short and that eastern/Indian religions are far beyond science in their reach. Eastern/Indian religions as one example are far beyond our western science in its understanding of consciousness in my opinion.

I'm pretty sure the world isn't triangular and supported on the backs of elephants

I believe in your bed while asleep you moved towards consciousness and briefly wondered what was around you, so you 'Saw' your curiosity in a way. I think your curiosity was expressed visually for a moment. Its a guess of course.

There is something to that approach, Brick. My experience in the dreamscape has made me quite aware that many dream images and sequences are metaphors played out in almost a theatrical way to get your attention. This could be an inherent fear of the unknown superimposed onto the smoke/vapor creatures in the dream. Here I'm thinking, the things that you most fear are actually only smoke and vapor. Its the emotional element that "fleshes" them out or gives them life, as it were. The point being is that when we give into our fears they do have a tendency to take on a life of their own. The dream illustrates that facets quite indelibly but only the writer of the OP can help me go much further. @Musing Bassist

This was something I used to experience a lot in my teens. I'd be on the verge of sleep and suddenly hear my name shouted into my ear. The fright would leave me quite awake for some time as you would imagine.

Just so we're clear, I'm sharing this experience because it was bizarre, not because I want to insist something paranormal happened. It's not as if the concept of the grey alien is unknown to me, so it's no surprise that the idea should eventually pop up in a dream. Heck, I've had dreams that involved Pennywise from that cheesy 90's film.

While I don't know anything about other dimensions, I do accept the notion that reality runs far deeper then our physical perceptions. I've had other experiences dealing with shadow people which I cannot brush off as easily as dream or hypnagogic hallucination.

Don't let the word 'dimension' throw you too much. Where are other planes where non-physical entities are experiencing? I believe they are beyond our three-dimensional physical 'natural' realm.
