A quote from the thread: "I really want to believe in God again"

The following statements were made by a person who claims to belong to the only organization on earth that has the truth. Let's look at some of that truth.

They said,

"Please notice that Romans 5:14 mentions that death 'reigns' (death rules as a king over us). So, sin reigns leading unto death - Romans 5:21"

The writer of that statement references Romans 5:14 to say that death "reigns" over us, but what does that verse "Really" say?

Romans 5:14 (ESV Strong's) 14 Yet death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over those whose sinning was not like the transgression of Adam, who was a type of the one who was to come.

That verse uses the past tense form of reign, not the present tense as he/she uses.

And they do the same with verse 21. But what does verse 21 "Really" say?

Romans 5:20-21 (ESV Strong's) 20 Now the law came in to increase the trespass, but where sin increased, grace abounded all the more, 21 so that, as sin reigned in death, grace also might reign through righteousness leading to eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Again, the verse is using the past tense of the word "reign", not the present tense as he/she is using.

I have more to say, but I have to run now!
