I'm tolerant towards Christians .... until they (and this only seems to be radical minority of Christians, thank goodness. They really do give the rest a bad name), start bashing me over the head with their Bible and telling me I'm going to hell unless I become like them!

I would never tell you you are going to Hell unless you become like me. I am just a poor sinner saved by grace. I would tell you that Jesus Christ paid for all our sins and offers eternal life as a free gift, no strings attached. I have sinned, every day, haven't you? When we stand before Holy God, I will plead the blood of Jesus over my sins, and stand before God in Christ's righteousness and not my own. What or who took away your sins, and are you going to stand before a Holy God in your righteousness, which the Bible says is as filthy rags to God? As a poor sinner, I see no other way than the way God made for us to be saved, and that is by trusting in His Son, Jesus.

And, with a person who willfully bears false witness against other religions as thier reason for converting, these people will make excellent editions to the Christian population. Might as well get them thier plane ticket to Topeka now.

Topeka, lol. Well, it is your opinion that he bears 'false witness' toward them, unless he has changed in the last 25 years, I think he is right in his exposing of the false religions and cults and the occult.

Just so I know, do you think these are good things? Upstanding moments in our history that should be repeated?

Er, NO!!! Did I SAY I was Catholic or something?

Those were neat, thanks for the site. I liked them and thought it took some amount of creativity to come up with those. He's a Christian with some talent that likes to spread the good news. Its funny to read all the negative response he's getting. If you stir souls then most likely he's closer to the truth then you think. Telling some one about Christ could be seen as telling someone their wrong, but thats why they call it saving. If someone is swimming away from the shore and someone yells "your swimming the wrong way" yes your telling them their wrong, but only to help them. But maybe that person swimming doesn't want to go toward the shore and that cool, just trying to help. But don't get mad at the person trying help.

They have lead countless people to Christ all over the world.

Have you also considered the number of people he has lead astray? Have you considered that instead of spreading a message of love, and forgiveness and respect, he is spreading a message of judgment, of hate, and of bigotry? How many people do you think have read one of these things and run the other way as fast as they can?

Here is the thing. ALL have sinned, you, me, everyone. The penalty for sin is death, physical and spiritual (Hell). Well, Christ paid the penalty, He died. If we believe in Him, believe His death paid for our sins, we are saved. Now, where people get mad is when you point out that, hey, according to the Bible, the Ten Commandments, etc. you have sinned, you are a sinner. The Bible says all have sinned, and if we have broken the law in one small point, we are guilty of all. I personally have broken all ten of the ten commandments. When I stand before God, I will be guilty. The Bible makes it clear that no amount of 'works of righteousness' that I do, which are as filthy rags to God, will take away my sins or make me worthy to be with a Holy God. It says only through trusting in Christ, that He already paid the price for my sins, and by accepting HIS righteousness in place of my own, can I have eternal life, which is a totaly free gift. Now, people get offended when we point out their sins. Well, look, we ALL sins in MANY different ways. I SIN!!! I am saved, yet I will still battle an old sinful nature until I receive my glorified, incorruptible, immortal body. But while in this physical body, I will still sin. You sin, I sin, we all sin. Its just a fact of life. If we told a lie, we are a liar, if we stole we are a thief, if we use God's name in vain we are blasphmers, if we lust after a woman, we are an adulterer at heart, if we hate a brother without cause, we are a murderer at heart, and we have all disobeyed our parents, coveted others' possessions, friends, spouses perhaps, just those alone would make us lying, theiving, blasheming, adulterers and murderers at heart, disobedient to parents, and covetors. And when we stand before God we are guilty. We all need the blood of Christ to pay for our sins. So, it is not wrong to tell people that the Bible, and Jesus, warn us of a Judgement to come, that we must stand before God, but that there is good news, that Jesus paid the penalty for us! If I love and respect you, I am going to tell you the bad news along with the good, and will tell you the truth from the false. I will expose the false teachers, false gospels, false religions, and illuminate the truth. If you are dying of cancer and I am your doctor, I will tell you, and I will offer the cure. If I ONLY OFFER THE CURE, you will say, but, I am not sick, I do not need the cure. Well, we are all sick with sin, and Jesus is the cure. Anyone who teaches otherwise is leading people astray, and at judgement, if you followed them, you will be angry that someone did not warn you and tell you the truth.

Ok, but you're still missing the fundamental difference between saying, for instance, that Paganism is wrong because all religions other than yours are wrong by default, and saying that Paganism is wrong because Pagans/Wiccans conciously worship Satan, and follow the practices of the ancient Druids and sacrafice humans on Halloween, while a demon with a pumpkin for a head named "Samhain" dances around a fire. No crap, that's really his presentation of Wicca in his tracts.
Now, there are several things wrong with this, beyond just being offensive and wrong. It's also really really REALLY bad history. Historians know now that the Druids weren't even the clerics in ancient Celtic society. If you're going to devote your time and effort in telling people "the truth" about a non-Christian religion, the LEAST you can do is sprinkle in some honest to goodness genuine research into it, if only for good measure.
But, what am I thinking, this is extremist religion we're talking about. Why should I be expecting research, silly me.

Would you be able to see the difference if I said that as an athiest I don't think your ideas about religion are correct because only science gives us the real answers, and if I said instead that Christians use thier relgious beliefs in a cult like way to abuse children at every chance they get, and perhaps even breed for this specific purpose?

Not every moment. Some of them have actually heard of us and take the odd 'holiday' to bash Orthodoxy too. The thing I've always found interesting is that these people often believe that everyone who believes in Christ (demons too?) is saved and is a part of the universal invisible Church whilst simultaneously believing that those of us like us, the RCs and the OOs (so basically all Christians prior to 16th century) will burn in hell. Don't any of them see the logical absurdity in this? Apparently not.

I don’t think you understand. I have no problem with you or Jack Chick or anyone teaching the gospel as they see it. I have no problem with people talking about sin and salvation. I don’t necessarily agree, but that is what makes life interesting.

I have a problem with someone deliberately spreading what he knows full well are lies about other religions (and other groups) just for the sake of building up his own ego. If we are talking about pointing out sins, and warning people about the consequences, that that is great, Jack Chick is a Liar! He lies about Wiccans, Jews, Buddhists, and Catholics. He spreads hatred about homosexuals and atheists. He uses the name of Christ to spread lies and hate. And if what you believe is correct, then there will be consequences in the next life. And I believe that we can see the consequences of this kind of thing in this life in the form of religious intolerance and bigotry that we see every day. And there can be no “cure” without first telling the truth.

Probably because they don't realize that Catholicism came first.

But, ragging on Catholics is an age old Protestant tradtition that goes back to the formation of thier brand of Christianity. "Catholicism is bad" is one of their founding principles. =)

The problem is that speading hate about other religions and people groups are part of Jack Chick's understanding of the Gospel.

Yes, you are right. That is the problem.

And just to be clear, I am not saying that Jack Chick, or anyone else, does not have the right to express their view. And if ever the time came when his right to free expression was threatened, I would defend it. But people who disagree with him also have the right to express themselves.

And just in case anyone thinks that this kind of problem is unique to Christianity, it’s not. There are bigots in most, if not all religions, faiths and ideologies. A few years ago I discovered a group out there that calls themselves Pantheists, who are actually teaching white supremacy. Disgusting!!
