I am a Shia Muslim..
Alawites may have some thoughts that I am not familiar with...
However you can try to ask me some questions if you will..

There are pictures of Shia Muslims being killed by "Syrian rebels" and pictures of other blood sports. The question is what constitutes religious and what is considered to be heretical in your book?

Please expand on that. You may be a rare beast - but then perhaps not. You may empower others by declaring your view in your own words
:)

Okay, so my worldview is a pretty dualistic one. There is The God/dess (Allaah in Islaamic terms) and the Dark Lord (Satan). In 'the beginning', the Dark Lord 'separated' from The God/dess, 'taking' some of the God/dess' spirit and creating the 'early' (energetic-material) universe in the process. In response, The God/dess infused tiny sparks of Theirself - spirits - into the early universe to break it up and liberate the spirits trapped inside the early universe, in the process creating the 'later' universe. In response, the Dark Lord acted to keep both the earlier spirits trapped within energetic-material form and to entrap the later spirits, and to draw more spirits away from The God/dess. In response, The God/dess infused more spirits into the universe to liberate these spirits, still further breaking it up. And so on. This ongoing Battle between The God/dess and the Dark Lord is what underlies the evolution of the universe and ultimately of all living things - including ourselves - with the universe effectively the Battleground. Our mission therefore in this life is to liberate the spirits trapped within the energetic-material world. The majority of the spirits within human beings have forgotten their true identity and their mission and become trapped in the world. The God/dess has succeeded in sending some stronger spirits to the world (strong enough to resist the Dark Lord and their servants) with the mission of 'awakening' these trapped spirits to their identities and missions - these are the Angels and human Messengers and Prophets, of which Muhammad (pbuh) is the last.

That'll do for starters! Any further questions, please feel free to ask away!

Okay, so my worldview
Wow. Thanks so much for taking the time to post that. Although I am not religious as such (nor am I the standard New Atheist) I have a secular/poetic view which has some parallels to your view.
How is your view received by other Muslims ? Obviously there will be a variety of responses, assuming you discuss this with other Muslims.

Most welcome! :)

Generally not too well!

Obviously there will be a variety of responses

Not much variety, it has to be said! The Alawites tend to be the most accepting, there being a fair amount of resonance with their views.

assuming you discuss this with other Muslims.

I have to be very careful about how I go about discussing this with other Muslims, what I say, how I say it, etc. In some parts of the world, they will have my head for it.

Again, thanks for such a comprehensive and thoughtful reply. It is bedtime for me here in Australia, so I won't trivialise your response with a quick reply.

I will do my best to answer how my view has similarities to yours - but that will require some inspiration to answer at all, let alone in less than a short novel, ha ha. Nevertheless, I will make the attempt. After a good sleep :)

Gnostic muslim
Strange title

Dont u mean Gnostic Middle eastern?

Cuz muslim cannot be gnostic.

Salaam,

We can have a debate if you would like about whether or not a Muslim can be Gnostic in a separate debate thread, but this is Gnosticism DIR so if I or anyone else identify as Gnostic as well as Muslim in this part of RF that is not something up for debate in this part of RF.

Wassalaam

Throughout history, Shia Muslims were victims of the different tyrants who have Hijacked Islam.

As of who are the real Muslims and who are the heretical ones, let me say this...

Prophets are sent by God to bring change to the humans who tend to go astray and to follow Satan..

People tend to resist the prophets...

In the case of prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon), he has managed to defeat those who resisted the change...

However after his death, his enemies collaborated with the hypocrites and were able to defeat the true Islam..

Now how can you decide whether the Shiite version is the correct one or the other version...

You need to do your research...

Good Luck
