Why I am now a full-fledged Hillary Clinton fan

can't show you my ballot but I will guarantee I'm not voting for the Hillary. Good enough?
Perhaps so.
But I have a 30 something relative, conservative white male, E8 stationed in Gitmo at the moment. He is a life long die hard republican voter. He was having a bit of a rough time this year, not considering Trump a real Republican.

I talked to his wife earlier today. She mentioned that he had said he would probably vote for Clinton. Because Trump said something to the effect that he knew more about Daesh than the military does. I haven't spoken with him myself, but his wife was boggled.

Twilight, not bright nor dark, good nor bad.
I have two reasons why I'm supporting Hillary.
First, I value certainty over uncertainty. With Hillary, she has solid positions on the issues. I know she will work with and within the system. Though I disagree with her on many issues, at least I know what her stance is on them. But Trump supports contradictory positions on the issues. I can't figure out what he stands for.

Second, she has stronger and more relevant work experience than him. She's been a senator and a cabinet officer. She knows how things work. There won't be a long period of her trying to figure out how to do her duties. But Trump has to learn he just can't say "you're fired" or personally insult every person that disagrees with him. He doesn't have a clue how to work as a government official.
That's exactly why Trump is the man. Bout bloody time there is a royal shakeup throughout the status quo.

He's experienced enough to handle the task ahead of him.

That's more where I'm coming from. As much as I'm loathed to say it, I think he just might prove to be exactly what is needed in this sad world of politics. Business "as usual" hasn't been happening since 2008, why should the world of politics carry on as if everything is running along perfectly...

Well each to their own. Oh by the way I'm a retired E-8 and I talked to my wife today and she isn't voting for the Hillary either. (of course didn't have to talk to her to figure that out....her actions anytime she hears the Shrilly or sees her is quite evident of her opinion)

Fake Unity at the DNC - Reserved seats for actors

Sour grapes?

Par for the course at US political rallies. Ethnic minorities, people in uniform, placard waving fanboys/girls, they are just another visual effect like the lighting or the stage.

It's all about the theatre.

I think the US needs to be pulled out of the toilet, and cleaned up, and also keeping their big noses out of others affairs which only causes wars, now whoever will try to do that, that would be the best vote.

I would agree. While the U.S. should never subjugate its sovernity under any international banner, there seems to be very little said of international dialog anymore. Even as a Republican, it was a tad unsettling to hear Bush address the U.N. in which the country ingored recommendation and plans of action when it came to the wars in the middle east. NATO seems irrelevant and rarely mentioned these days compared to that of the past as it pertained to international matters.

I would love to see domestic issues take presidence with international issues left on the back burner for a bit.

Not saying it's going to happen but perhaps tempered with the right people in power.

Um, why would you think the ethic minorities and people in uniform are just part of some show? Minorities are largely Democratic and so are many service members (duh).

I understand that Fox distorted the coverage of the DNC by not showing these segments so here they are - first the parents of a Muslim hero soldier who gave his life for America

Looks like an advertisement material against Trump, since when Muslims are treated equally in the US, er

Good examples of the Democrats problems

Haha, wow. But no surprise.

I'd be interested in who this "Branco" guy is. Apparently he works for whoever runs "Americans for limited government" and "Legal Insurrection." Someone please help Ernest out. I'm bored of doing it.

Sorry, think you misinterpreted what I meant. Was just a general point about how stage managed all political rallies are (not specifically democrat ones). The people in the crowd that are visible on TV are frequently chosen for 'visual effect', sort of like flower arranging. They function as part of the set.

Fair enough.

You must be willfully overlooking all the more recent revelations about her and the DNC, not even counting the past events she's been connected to.

I sure didn't see many people of color at the RNC. That crowd had to be at least 95% white, probably 98-99% white.

I'm not naive about how people are selected to speak but it does say a lot who is chosen to speak because who is chosen speaks to the character and motivation of those making the selection.

And of course we have not yet lived up to the ideals expressed in the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Even though we're doing wonderfully compared to the rest of the world, we have a long way to go. Saying we're the greatest nation in the world is true, but part of our greatness is the humility to know how far we are from living up to our ideals.

In this consequential election, one party, the Democratic party, is standing up for American values.

The Republican party is being led by someone who hates America and American values, disrespects those who give their lives in the service of America, disparages America's role in the world, dumps on Ronald Reagan's view of America as a "shining city on a hill" which came from the Pilgrims, preaches fear and hatred and lashes out at all those who disagree just like tin-pot dictators do all over the world.
