Why did the Israel's neighbors attack it in May 1948?

Gday LuisDantas and all :)

I have ignored Kapýong's answers because they make a point of avoiding the answers I seek while brandishing pointless, unsupported accusations. My time and attention are limited in scope and I have to make decisions. Simple as that.
May you please give me the post number of where you give your take on the matter?

I'll do even better for you, LuisDantas :)

Here is a quick summary of the facts of history which are directly ON SUBJECT -
  • Palestine was known by name as early as the 5th century BC in Herodotus, and is found on Ptolemy's map from the time of the Gospels.
  • By the 1800s it had firmly established borders and a population of about 3/4 million (but no central govt.)
  • During the late 1800s the Zionists started buying up land in Palestine.
  • By 1917 it was clear the Zionists wanted the land of Palestine (Britain betrayed the Arabs and promised it to the Zionists.)
  • The horror of WW2 brought things to a head concerning a home-land for the Jews.
  • The Zionists started planning the capture of Palestine as early as 1945.
  • The Zionists had purchased about 8% of Palestinian land by 1947.
  • In 1947 the UN announced a PLAN to give much of Palestine to the Zionists.
  • The Palestinians and Arabs rejected the plan to give away their best land.
  • The Zionists secretly shipped arms into Palestine.
  • Civil war broke out, there were battles and atrocities.
  • The Zionists started taking Palestinian land by force as early as December 1947.
  • Everyone could see a war over the land of Palestine was coming.
  • On 14th May 1948 the Zionists declared they owned the land by fiat.
  • On 15th May the Arabs declared they would fight to defend Palestine.
  • They battled for about 10 months over the land of Palestine.
  • About 700,000 local Palestinians were forced from their homes.
  • Israel won, the Arabs lost - and the land was re-named 'Israel'.
  • The Palestinians still want their land back, and try to fight back.
  • Israel continues to gobble up Palestine - only about 12% remains any more.
Or do you still choose to 'disbelieve' the facts of history as 'pointless, unsupported accusations' ?

Brilliant, you start a thread and then ignore people that answer your questions.

Tragic isn't it. :(

Sadly, the Israeli propaganda myths are erasing history,
just like Israel is erasing Palestine.

AIPAC has been using the Newspeak term 'disputed' rather than 'occupied' for the occupied territories.

The result follows :
smith-316.gif

Incredibly,
Americans mostly believe that Palestinians occupy Israeli land.

The exact opposite of the truth.

How sad is that ?

Instead we see consistent FAILURE to refute any of these facts,
we see repeated and consistent failure to even ADDRESS them !

I might agree that sometimes you're stating facts. But often you're making claims. You MUST learn the difference, and be prepared to defend your claims. You're not apt to be able to sneak claims past the members of this forum without push back.

Oh, there was plenty of 'push-back' :
  • personal insults and abuse
  • blanket claims I was wrong without any evidence
  • one-liners with no content
  • plain refusal to believe the facts and maps of history
  • total failure to address my arguments
  • etc.
But -
what I didn't see was rational discussion of the evidence.

I have listed the facts of history.
You pretend they are 'claims' - but none of you will actually address any of those facts.
Now you vaguely admit I do have some facts ?
How about you specifically agree that all my recently listed facts of history are correct.

What happened to your insistence on discussing some definitions from the British mandate and the UN plan ?
I checked those sources that you asked me to, and I responded to you.
But you are apparently not even reading my posts any more, as my experiment up-thread showed.

All the pro-Israelis have left town - because it is clear that I well know the facts, and also the usual excuses and propaganda.

I hope I have performed some service to my readers by showing them :
  • the truth about how Israel invaded, captured and now continues to gobble up Palestine, leaving 12% remaining.
  • the lies and myths and propaganda of the Zionists
  • the total inability of pro-Israelis to address the issues
  • their reliance on abuses and excuses

After WW2 :
Remember the Holocaust !
Never let it happen again !

After Palestine :
Remember the Holocausts !
Never let it happen a third time !

@Kapyong Let me know when you've decided to acknowledge that some of your facts are actually claims, and you're willing to defend them.

I find this interesting.
Do you have a map or some other indication of "By the 1800s it had firmly established borders and a population of about 3/4 million?"

@Moishe3rd asked you a question, and I've got another:

Why did you pick these "facts" but leave others out?
