Do you believe in the concept of the chosen people of god

I myself find it insulting to say that there are chosen people of god. Through out history men have done this concept. Recently Hitler and Hirohito. They united their country, thus the concept of chosen people and divine, as they say history repeats itself, why not use the concept over and over again. Smart bible myth writers...

Well, you can discount Hitler's ramblings as those of a mad man.

Hirohito's claims on the other hand are the result of centuries of Japanese religious tradition. The Emperor's family descended from the sun goddess, so i see no problem with his claim.

The Israelites are the chosen people of their God YHWH, again this tradition goes back millenia and stems from a time when every nation was the chosen people of some God or another. I don't see a problem with them calling themselves the chosen people of YHWH. If i worshipped their God i might have a problem, but i don't :D .

more importantly is the concept of being G-d's Chosen People (i.e. Jews) necessarily equate to some form of superiority?
that is not the teachings of Judaism today...

I presume this what you wish to debate.
I myself find it insulting to say that there are chosen people of god.
Why? How is this valid in a debate?
Through out history men have done this concept.
Please rework so I can ensure I am understanding what you are trying to say... 'have done this concept'?
Recently Hitler and Hirohito.
So, the notion of a people being 'chosen' is enough to equate them with Hitler... Sorry, that is completely illogical.
They united their country, thus the concept of chosen people and divine, as they say history repeats itself, why not use the concept over and over again.
Spell out the religion you are trying to bash.
Smart bible myth writers...
So now the debate is regarding who wrote the Bible?

I do not believe in a physical chosen people of God. I do not believe that any one race of people is God's chosen. The chosen people of God in which I believe is a spiritual people. I believe the Christians are that people. Not just white Christians, not just black Christians, but those who do God's will on earth, and follow the teaching's of Jesus wherever and whoever they are.

hmmmm i know alot of anti-semitic groups and websites well cite verses from Talmud that talk about superiority over the Gentiles...but some of those are either 1) totally fabricated or 2) taken completely out of context of the time period (at least from what i know of those passages)

you will more often find stuff referring to respecting the non-jew and even the idea that the Righteous of all nations have a place in the World to Come

in the Torah, even G-d calls the Israelites stubborn and stiff necked...that they are not the biggest or mightiest of nations...

Bottom line: History repeats itself.

I don't know if you know what Hitler and hirohito claimed before and during World War II about their race but that will give you the answer

Bottom line: History repeats itself.

History cannot repeat itself, unless of course we have all the same people with the same backgrounds doing the same thing at the same time. Perhaps you believe that history repeats itself in parallel dimensions?

That's not a stong argument to use in a debate.

Here is what I believe today. I'm sure if I'm wrong, God will be more than happy to steer someone in my direction to correct me. :D

Since I am a Christian and do accept the OT as a small slice of God's relationship with his *chosen* people, then yes I do accept that there is a chosen people. God has given the rest of us a means of salvation through Christ's sacrifice (Luke 2:29-32, Isaiah 49:6) but the Bible is clear about the Hebrews being the chosen people.

Hitler and hirohito came from different backgrounds and yet believes the same things and wanted domination manipulation and expansion. Something drives parts of humanity to do the same things. It must be mental suggestion.....
