People are generally down on those things they aren't up on, May. While I disagree with many of the JW's doctrines, I feel a certain kinship with you guys -- just because the Mormons are harrassed a lot, too.may said:Jehovah's WitnessesWho Are They?

we stick to Gods word the bible and teach that Jesus is the only- begotten Son of God, we feel the bible is the aurthority.sandy whitelinger said:Generally it is because they don't believe in the diety of Christ.
i find it interesting that there was opposition to Jesus' preaching, and he said that his followers also would be opposed.Booko said:Why do you keep asking this question?
maybe its because we realize that the trinity teaching is not inline with bible teaching ,correct me if i am wrong about that , LDS do not believe in the trinity doctrine?Katzpur said:People are generally down on those things they aren't up on, May. You are the first Christian I have ever seen to point that out. Great job!Jeremiah 10:2 Thus saith the LORD, Learn not the way of the heathen, and be not dismayed at the signs of heaven; for the heathen are dismayed at them.
Jeremiah 10:3 For the customs of the people [are] vain: for [one] cutteth a tree out of the forest, the work of the hands of the workman, with the axe.
Jeremiah 10:4 They deck it with silver and with gold; they fasten it with nails and with hammers, that it move not.

fromthe heart said:But...am I to assume that I was mistaken on your belief in 'Hell' that your religion doesn't feel there IS a hell of fire and brimstone where all who do not receive salvation will spend eternity? I was once told at a church many years ago that we are not to even get into a conversation with any JW's because they are blind to the truths of God's Word...that they pick and choose? I'm not the type of person who can just turn my back on another person easily but there IS scripture that says that if a person is told the truth and doesn't chose to believe we are to turn away from them...I was told that JW's chose what they want to believe and not ALL of the Bible...can you tell me where the confrontation lies with-in the Christian sects that cause some churchs to shun JW's? There HAS to be something with-in the JW's teachings that are against scripture for so many Christians to say this teaching is wrong and filled with deceit for the people who fall under the church of JW's...I do not look at people by faith alone so I'm asking you sincerely about this...What do YOU feel in your gut is not so 'right' about the JW faith?
its a link , i am not personally asking the question , but before i was a JW , i could see that the world in general , especially chirstian religious leaders , were telling their flocks not to talk to JW, this just made me curious , and now i can see why the religious leaders of christendom tell their flocks not to speak to JW ................. its because JW are teaching the TRUTH from the bible , and JW have not taken on all of the pagan manmade doctrines that christendom have taken on. Yes i can see that the JW are teaching pure bible teachings , and that is the way to go.....for me.Booko said:Why do you keep asking this question?
you are right , we like to stick to bible teaching, and not take on any unscriptual things that would offend our God Jehovah , pure worship is very important to us , as we know that our God does not want us to be contaminated with false things, that is why in revelation 18;4 he tells his people to get out of .........Babylon the great................. because then we will not recieve any of her sins. we believe that Babylon the great is.......The world empire of false religion........Mindonfire said:Good Day
It's probably because people feel that JW's are too strict. You know they don't celebrate all that unscriptural stuff that people love to celebrate. We have found the JW's to be the closest thing to the truth. People are uncomfortable around the truth.

i think if we follow the bible we cant go wrong , but if we follow our hearts it can lead us astray.ticandy said:People are scared that christianity is not good enough for you. You will look for something else. BUT if you know what you believe then you'll also recognise what you don't. Make sense? Trust in your heart. Out of it flow the issues of life. the bible says I set before you life and death. Choose life. Follow your heart. Know what you believe.
