Auras...again

I read through an old thread about auras, but I still have some questions.

1) Can anyone here actually see auras?
2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?
3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?
4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?
5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?

1) Can anyone here actually see auras?

I can. I haven't really gotten in the habit of trying to see them with every person, but if I make an effort, I can.
2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?

I'm not sure if anyone can 'gain' the ability, since I think that we're all born with it. When I was little, I'd see them around trees, before 'growing out of it'. I think one has to remember how to do something they already know. Something I've found helpful is to hold your hand against a black cloth, paper or glass, with a light source behind it. Stare at it a bit like you would those 'magic eye' images, trying not to concentrate on what you see, but a bit beyond it. In time and with practice, you should be able to discern an area around the hand beyond the skin. What it looks like will depend on what's being viewed and the viewer themselves. I'm not sure if I should tell you what it looks like to me, since sometimes people feel that how they experience it is influenced by how it was described by another.

3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?

From my own understanding, the aura is what appears to a person 'visually', whether sensed by the eyes or the third eye. An etheric field is the physical energy around a person. I think it has more to do with the sense of touch and more visceral sense than the other.

4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?

The shape of it (again, to me) can suggest the person's personality, the color their emotions in various parts of their personality, and how clear or clouded some things are can indicate physical issues. For instance, when I was in massage therapy clinic, I could just 'know' where to work on a person because of what I saw in their field.
5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?

I think the solidity of the aura is based on things like how strong-willed or spiritually active the person is. On some people, it can seem like a physcial presence, something that can't even be seen through. On others, it's like gauze, and the colors are almost impossible to see. For me, it is more sensed than seen, it's just that my brain seems to process it as something visually.

I hope that helps!

Is an aura a color? If so, do the colors mean anything?

For me, sometimes they are. At times, when a person is at their 'lowest' in the mental, physical and spiritual sense), it's almost like a tiny, clear outline of the person around that person. It's as if they barely have the energy to keep themselves together, let alone anything beyond that. I think the colors tend to correspond to what the viewers associate the colors with. For example, for me, yellow is a color of spiritual enlightenment, so if I see that around someone's third eye or crown level, I assume that at some level, they might be 'scoping out' my aura, too. At other times, it's more visceral than colors. When someone is distressed... How to explain this? Well, to me, what I see is the way tin smells.

Please forgive all the 'to me's- I just don't want to create the impression that I think everyone's experience is the same.

Since not all people see auras, is it possible the people who do have a form of
Synesthesia, a condition characterized by one sensory experience generating another - so that shapes have tastes, for instance - is estimated to affect between 1 in 200 to 1 in 2,000 people. The most common form involves seeing specific letters or numbers (graphemes) in specific colors. For these individuals, known as grapheme-color synesthetes, an ordinary "5," in black ink on a white background, always appears red or a "k," greenish-blue.
I read about this is Discover magazine

I certainly think so, especially since being able to percieve auras is such an individual experience. I remember that I had co-worker whose daughter would 'hear' colors, and they were very relieved when the research on synesthesia came out.

You raise a very interesting question, and I wonder if I've been using the wrong phrase in saying 'see auras'. Perhaps 'percieve' would be the better term.

A good buddy of mine was able to see auras until he got it "fixed"

2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?
He received his "gift" through use of a Qujai Board. A spirit gave it to him.

3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?
No clue

4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?
He wasn't too sure. From his observations about people, he gathered that it had to do with the nature of that person. For example there was this guy that worked in the same company as us. He told me that the guy had a trailing black aura. Which he assumed was very bad because he never saw one like that before. The guy was fired from the company. A few months later, the FBI was looking for him. They wanted to question him about a child abduction/murder case (the case is infamous and was all over the news at one point, but I don't wish to say which one it is)

5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?
He could see them as clear as day. He told me that he would go into a movie theater and still see everyone's auras after the lights had gone out. He said they might as well have left them on.

Do you feel them? I always wondered if people could feel or hear the Northern Lights.
and thanks on the sigi

The auras? Sometimes. What I can physically feel may be more what Frogo was discussing about an ethereal field. These, like auras, tend to take their form according to the individual. If a person is 'closed off', feeling angry or anything like that, their field takes a kind of nasty feel- like sticky tar. It makes me not want to be physically near the person, even if their outward posture, words and actions seem like everything's okay. On the other hand, people that are happy, naturally friendly or those types of feelings tend to have kind of a cotton-candy area around them. You want to be near them, because their presence is comforting.

An interesting exercise that I had with auras/ ethereal fields was I was in a workshop on being able to percieve the energies within yourself and around you. Half of the people would sit in a circle, while the other half would kind of sense around those persons head and shoulders, getting the feel for where the field begins and how to sense it. As this exercise went on, we were encouraged to try to show each other what peoples fields were like when they were happy, versus upset. When I was one of the ones sitting down, the example we were given was to think of how we would feel if we didn't want anyone around us. Tending to associate with animals, I pictured being a porcupine, quills standing on end. While most described their partners as having a tar or brick feeling, when it came time for the woman who was working with me to describe what she'd felt, she said that it was 'as if there were all these spiky projections in the air around her.'

It's one thing to be studying something and think it's possible, but quite another to have it actually be proven to you. I was kind of floored by that.

The electromagnetic spectrum governs the energy of all of existance. it governs the growth of all life, all chemical elements, and all electrical action, including the firing of each brain cell.
Our eyes, ears and mouths all participate in energy exchange on this spectrum, and the sun's electromagnetic light radiation has grown all life since the beginning of time...auras tend to be based around light, mostly the vision reception of the light based energy signature from a being. In the world of reception, (instead of prying into another's light body, as aural scrying techniques are based upon), is the world of the chakras, the color red for example effects the root chakra, and orange effects the stomach ascending across the seven chakras as the spectrum, just as the note C in music affects the root chakra and "D" to the stomach ascending. there are things that can open up chakra awareness, like listening to the pure sine tones of each light frequency, to be able to feel chakra specific color for example. That technique, easily done with a free audio utility, is probably a good bet to become more light sensative. NUclear bombs are a complete black hole as far as this energy is concerned, the ultimate soul killer. radiation is the basis of cancer and base thought. Anyone who has even walked near a street prostitute with any sort of life force, knows full well that their root chakra looks like a radiation bruise. Sex with people you don't care about can indeed give cancer.

I think there is a great future in chakra clearing and balancing work, and hope that it will become a new accepted branch of medicine. Psychologists should be aware of things like auras and energy signatures, as it could very much help what was once called "psychoanalysis, the impossible profession". Chakra aware musicians are always needed, although many great musicians have what is called "good intonation" and make chakra decent works pudging at it blind.

Gonna have to dig out my auro pictures.
1) Can anyone here actually see auras?
I can see them, allthough I'm not very proficient at it.
2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?
I wouldn't call it "gaining the ability" but for the sake of the discusion, as far as I am aware, the only way to "gain the ability" is to work with your third eye. (Chakra located on the forehead.)
3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?
The aura is an energy field that is directly influenced by what is going on in the body. Whether it be an illness, improved health, an epiphany, spiritual energy, or whatever.
4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?
Whats been going on, in the recent past (last few months), currently, and how the current energy can influence your future.
5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?
If you can see them, they are very visible. Allthough most people will sense them, since it takes time to be able to see them.
Is an aura a color? If so, do the colors mean anything?
The auro can be many colors. Some have only two or three colors, but some can look like a rainbow of colors. And they all mean something different. Even the shade and brightness mean something. If an area is a dull, pale, almost grey color, it will almost always mean an illness in that area. A very bright color can mean great health, or alot of focus on that area.

1) Can anyone here actually see auras?
I wish I could.

2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?
I have been told that you can learn to do so. I read somewhere that if you look at someone sitting against a pale background and look for long enough, you will see colours and slight 'waves' (like one sees in the heat.
3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?

Didn't know, but from here:-http://tibetanfoundation.org/products/weavers.php
The Etheric Field is the matrix of three bodies: physical, emotional and mental. Each body has a corresponding manifestation of Heavenly manifested evolution. The physical body has a corresponding manifestation of the Heavenly manifested evolution. The physical body is manifested in the group personality, Ashram, the emotional body is manifested in the group soul, Hierarchy, and the mental body is manifested in the group collective consciousness, God.
4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?

Health, emotions.

5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?
I have 'felt' an aura (with my hands). In Reiki, the hands are used to help the flow of Ki (or chi) within another person. The hands become very sensitive, and I know I can 'feel' someones' aura, but I cannot see it. I would not be surprised if animals can see auras; I guess they are just on a different wavelength from that which we use for sight, but that it is possible to learn to see that much 'more'.

2) How can one gain the ability to see auras?
various ways, usually takes a lot of concentration
3) What is the difference between an aura and an etheric field?
Im not exactly sure what an etheric field is, so i really dont know sorry
4) What does an aura suggest about a person? Emotions, lifestyle conditions...?
Depends on the color of the aura
5) How visible is an actual aura? How solid does it appear? Or does it exist mentally; is it more sensed rather than seen?
It usually appears as a smokey coloring or glow around a person, eyt i think its more mental than anything

I know that every single person has the ability to see auras.
it requires opening the mind to the possibility, and all you have to do
is focus on the person whose aura you wish to see.
Auras if your unsure, look like a white outline of a person, this
is the surface of the aura.
By focusing further you will eventually see the persons color.
I have never heard of an etheric field..........
A person aura can never change, it is always the same from birth
to death and it is a signature of your being, it represents who you are.

Do not get mistaken between a mental image and a spiritual one. an aura isn't
a mental thing that one person is seeing.
from what I have read about the etheric field is that it is lacking a very important aspect. It should be physical, emotional, mental and spiritual, although mental and emotional go hand in hand.

Aura' don't have a taste or smell, at least not to a physical form, because it is a spiritual thing. I find myself to find it very easy to see an aura, all you have to do is focus for 5-10min on an individual and it becomes a soft glow around their body (depending on the person it will project out further than others).

in the spiritual sense of things these are the color corespondents:
red - explosive/direct
blue - focused/spiritual healing
green - nature/physical healing
yellow - passive/nullifies effects

I see aura's visually, and I believe that to be the case with most people, although you can also feel aura's, they may even have a sense of familiarity if you know the person it belongs to.

What? Me worry?
My wife has been able to see auras since she was a little girl. However she believes everyone can see them so she takes the ability for granted.
