Who is God Almighty?

According to the bible, Jehovah is Almighty God. (Genesis 17:1) Yet, some people think that the Bible says that Jesus is Almighty God but is that true? I've compared many different bible translations and have never come across any scripture stating that Jesus is God Almighty. The bible also says Jehovah gives his glory and praise to no one else and that we should worship only him (Psalms 29:2, Isaiah 42:8). Worshipping any other besides Almighty God is a direct violation of the very 1st commandment (Exodus 20:3) and is a sin known as idolatry, and what does the bible say about idolatry? Why not take a look at (1 Corinthians 10:14)

Is the bible wrong for saying "Jehovah is the true God" at (Jeremiah 10:10)? How about when Jehovah is referred to as our Father at Isaiah 64:8? Jesus let's us know his God and Father is the same as our God and Father at (John 20:17). The bible also says that all true worshippers will worship "the Father" (John 4:23). Jesus said the "Father is greater than I am" at John 14:28 right. Jehovah and Jesus are not the same person as some believe, just look at (Acts 7:55 and Acts 7:56) and you'll see.

So for all Christians who believe Jesus is Almighty God or that he should be worshipped, I ask can you please show me a scripture that clearly refer to Jesus as Almighty God or any that say he should be worshipped? And if the true worshippers are worshipping the Father, Jehovah, what does that make those who are worshipping God's son Jesus?

Hare Krishna,Hare Krishna,
He's the unmanifested cosmic consciousness under whom energy makes the entire cosmos.
These two aspects belong to the supreme personality of Godhead that is both impersonal and Personal.
The personal form is Lord SHRI KRISHNA who's the source and end of all the universes and the impersonal form is the that controls both the consciousness and Energy of all cosmos.
The true and only truth is Krishna, rest everything is temporary and hence a part of Maya.

Chapter 7, Verse 4
Earth, water, fire, air, ether, mind, intelligence and false ego—altogether these eight comprise My separated material energies.

Chapter 7, Verse 5
Besides this inferior nature, O mighty-armed Arjuna, there is a superior energy of Mine, which are all living entities who are struggling with material nature and are sustaining the universe.

Chapter 7, Verse 6
Of all that is material and all that is spiritual in this world, know for certain that I am both its origin and dissolution.

Chapter 7, Verse 7
O conquerer of wealth [Arjuna], there is no Truth superior to Me. Everything rests upon Me, as pearls are strung on a thread.

Chapter 7, Verse 8
O son of Kuntī [Arjuna], I am the taste of water, the light of the sun and the moon, the syllable om in the Vedic mantras; I am the sound in ether and ability in man.

Chapter 7, Verse 9
I am the original fragrance of the earth, and I am the heat in fire. I am the life of all that lives, and I am the penances of all ascetics.

Chapter 7, Verse 10
O son of Pṛthā, know that I am the original seed of all existences, the intelligence of the intelligent, and the prowess of all powerful men.

Chapter 7, Verse 11
I am the strength of the strong, devoid of passion and desire. I am sex life which is not contrary to religious principles, O Lord of the Bhāratas [Arjuna].

Chapter 7, Verse 12
All states of being—be they of goodness, passion or ignorance—are manifested by My energy. I am, in one sense, everything—but I am independant. I am not under the modes of this material nature.

I honestly feel the mainstream Christians are somewhat misguided in worshiping a human who is also god. Even that would sound off to a Muslim and Jew who reads that (assuming). It did to me. To equate any human with god (from a christian view) is, well, insulting.

Context in scripture cannot erase every other Abrahamic faith from Judaism and Muslim to Bahai and all the other "god-prophet" faiths, mainstream Christianity is the only one that says a human is god.

I think that is one thing that just needs to be hung up and accepted. Live one's life following god and follow the teachings of christ to know the father and let it be.

Very fine point. If Jesus never even once claimed that he was God Almighty or that he should be worshipped, in your own opinion why do you think some treat him as God and worship him? Is it safe to say they are amongst those being misled like the scriptures say?

Yes the teachings of Christ are that we obey only God. Remember Jesus even referred to the Father (Jehovah) as "the only true God" - John 17:1-3

people really are like sheep
they want to be led

they also want the security of being led by Someone who cannot fail

Jesus (according to scripture)
could walk on water and attempted to teach that ability to at least one other
He could heal and restore....even the dead
He could feed thousands at a moments notice
storms dissipate....by His gesture

if He had desired a kingdom in this world .....no one could have stopped Him
As king and general, no one could undo His reign.

but He did say....the kingdom is not of this world
and He never wanted a crown on His head
when it was mentioned.....He would leave....

can't worship someone who won't stand still for it

Jesus never once said, "I am the Son of God" either.
I see what you're saying but when you think about it there is no sure way for you or me to know all that Jesus ever said or did. We do have God's word the bible though and a lot of the things Jesus said/did are recorded there but not all. (Read John 21:25)

Many scriptures give clear evidence that Jesus is the Son of God, a few off the top of my head are: John 3:16, Mark 5:7, John 20:31. Remember that the Most High, Jehovah, is Almighty God and the Father of Jesus and all according to Genesis 17:1, Isaiah 64:8, Psalms 83:18, John 20:17

Remember that Jehovah God, his Son Jesus Christ and even all the angels want us all to come to an accurate knowledge of truth (1 Timothy 2:4, John 4:23,24) It is Satan and his demons that are misleading people to believe these false unscriptual teachings that keep people away from God. (2 Corinthians 4:4, Revelation 12:9)

Whoever does not acknowledge that Jesus is the Son of God does not have the Spirit of truth in them, but they actually have the Spirit of error (1 John 4:6, 1 John 4:15)

This thread was made last Thursday (5/19/16) and still not one scripture has been given stating that Jesus is God Almighty or that he should be worshipped. This further increases my faith in Jehovah.

Edit: To make it even easier for you all you can use absolutely ANY bible translation.

How about Hebrews 1:6 ... and let all the angels of God worship him.

Hebrews 1:8 - unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God is for ever and ever ...

The part where it says God has put everything under Jesus' feet makes Jesus God Almighty except to the one who put everything under his feet, God Almighty. And so since Jesus has all the power of God Almighty, is also God Almighty.

Before you get too excited, when the Bible speaks of, "He is coming with the clouds", "when He comes with the holy angels", Who is that speaking of, Who is coming, God the Father or Jesus?

Not sure if you were just joking or.....

Whatever, carry on.
Partly. Been reading up on Canaanite mythology for a book I'm writing. El is the High God who was to let Yah (Yahweh) a sea god, become King. This was going great until Baal said HE wanted to be King, so Baal killed Yahweh (not that it lasts, because death just isn't permanent for gods, but there you go). Essentially, in the Canaanite mythology, everything you read about Yahweh doing in the bible (conquering chaos/the sea, taking leadership over the Council of El, etc) ... well, in that version, BAAL does all that instead.

Who is God Almighty?

Any one or any thing can be called a god in this world but, only One aka the Almighty God caused the universe to exist. Hence, i like to address Him as the Primal Cause. Could the universe have caused itself to exist? Absolutely not! For something to cause itself to exist, It must exist to do so. If It already existed, there would be no reason to still cause Itself to exist as it already existed. If It did not exist, how could It have caused Itself to exist if It did not exist? Since the scientists speak of the universe as of having a beginning, Something or Someone that preceded it, caused the universe to exist. King David in his Psalm 19 said: "The heavens declare the glory of God; the sky proclaims His handiwork. (Psalms 19:1) And he went on by saying: "When I behold Your heavens; the works of Your fingers; the moon and stars that You have set them in place, what is man that You have been mindful of him, mortal man that You have taken note of him?" (Psalms 8:4)
