Women are not second class citizens in Catholicism.

Of course St. Paul didn't know what society would be like in the 21st-century Western world. How could he have?
If he was inspired by God, he would have benefited from God's presumed wisdom, no?

St. Paul wrote that letter to address the immediate concerns of Christians living in that city at that time. It just so happened that a lot of the advice he gave about how to live and how to act can also apply to any parish in any place in any time period.
... and he (or he who inspired him) didn't foresee how the passage would be used in the future and the problems it would cause?

And Jesus neither write anything himself nor authorized anybody to write anything on his behalf. His disciples, as per NT, betrayed him. So what else is the basis of Christianity?
Regards

Jesus authorized it by means of the Holy Spirit. And how do you know what all Jesus commanded His disciples during the 40 days after He arose?

Only one of His disciples betrayed Him, not "disciples."

I've had a Catholic say right to my face "I'm Catholic and I was raised to believe that women are inferior to men and you can't tell me that's wrong."
Well, I guess that depends on the definition of inferior.

When the Pope declared Saint Therese of liseux the greatest saint of modern times and a doctor of the church, as far as I'm concerned, he was saying that every priest and Bishop and himself were inferior to her.

In The Eyes Of God, all men are inferior to Mary (according to Catholic Mariology that is)

But would this have mattered at all to the Corinthians? When any of the Epistles were being written, none of their authors ever knew that these writings would become Scripture. They wouldn't be recognized as such until more than a century after the fact. St. Paul was just writing advice to Christians who asked him for it, and much of this advice happened to be inspired by God to be timeless.

Either you go for a work that completely transcends space and time, and loses its practical value in advising first-century Greek Christians, or you go for a letter that addresses their real-time pressing needs like they asked you to.

The problems are with us, not with the work itself. When people blindly interpret the Epistles and latch on to one single verse without a shred of thought for the cultural context back then, that's their fault.

As a personal service to you, I thought I might provide you a small selection of sample answers;

A : I can tell you it's wrong, but I figure you're probably incapable of listening. I'd say it's because you're a man, but it takes a certain breed of imbecile to generalize a single statement about 3 billion people, and this room clearly has already reached it's imbecile quota. (I wouldn't say imbecile...I'd probably spring for f***tard. But it's PG-13 here, so...)

A : I'm glad you're not a fan of women, because with that attitude it's gonna be a HELLUVA long time before you get to touch one.

A : It's not all women who are inferior. Just your mum, for allowing your *** to take over talking duties for your mouth.

A : I'm a Pagan, and I was raised to believe that women should spend plenty of time in the kitchen. After all, that's where the really sharp knives are kept.

A : That's cute. I prefer to think for myself, but whatevs.

As per Mathews all of them betrayed Jesus and did not stand with him.

Not true. Matthew records the Apostles as being with Jesus in Gethsemane - even Judas. One of the Apostles goes so far as to draw his sword & cut off the ear of the high priest's servant in an attempt to stop Jesus from being taken. Jesus rebukes him and tells him "all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword".

Matthew 26: 35-38 (KJV):

35 Peter said unto him, Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee. Likewise also said all the disciples.

36 Then cometh Jesus with them unto a place called Gethsemane, and saith unto the disciples, Sit ye here, while I go and pray yonder.

37 And he took with him Peter and the two sons of Zebedee, and began to be sorrowful and very heavy.

38 Then saith he unto them, My soul is exceeding sorrowful, even unto death: tarry ye here, and watch with me.

Please make a map and give the location of 12 disciples, where they were standing or sitting, when Jesus was put on the Cross:
Matthew 26:56"Then all the disciples deserted him and fled."

Matthew 26:56 deals with Jesus being seized in Gethsemane, not when he was being crucified. Learn to read. Also, you must have missed verse 58 of this chapter:

"But Peter followed him afar off unto the high priest's palace, and went in, and sat with the servants, to see the end."

so quite clearly he didn't abandon Jesus as the verse states.

Also, regarding your idiotic demand for a map of where the disciples were standing when Jesus was crucified:

One may like to read the following:
Matthew 26:69-72 King James Bible

Peter Denies Jesus
69Now Peter sat without in the palace: and a damsel came unto him, saying, Thou also wast with Jesus of Galilee. 70But he denied before them all, saying, I know not what thou sayest. 71And when he was gone out into the porch, another maid saw him, and said unto them that were there, This fellow was also with Jesus of Nazareth. 72And again he denied with an oath, I do not know the man. 73And after a while came unto him they that stood by, and said to Peter, Surely thou also art one of them; for thy speech bewrayeth thee. 74Then began he to curse and to swear, saying, I know not the man. And immediately the cock crew. 75And Peter remembered the word of Jesus, which said unto him, Before the cock crow, thou shalt deny me thrice. And he went out, and wept bitterly.

They didn't desert him in the verse you originally stated - which wasn't even referring to the Crucifixion; but to Gethsemane.

You are deliberately demanding excessive levels of evidence to counter your points so you can kid yourself that you're right when people inevitably fail to meet them. It's dishonest and you make yourself seem more and more like a liar when you do it.
