I am human

Lady Crimson

credo quia absurdum
so many questions....who is god, why is god, where is god?...let's look closer.....who is human, why human, where is human? (the questions don't necessarily have to make any sense)....the questions who and why and even where are very important

I am human

I am dust,
Only sand across the earth, scattered by who knows which angel’s wings;
Only dirt under your feet, with both roots and branches buried into me.

I am fragrance,
Mere essence of a holy sense grinded out of air and leaves;
Only a morsel of what divinity ought to be and should never be.

I am light,
Out of darkness did I come, born of its cloak I also brought obscurity;
Only a speck, an illuminating molecule beaming upwards from the dark.

I am a story,
Only broken lines and verses do I spit out of my pages,
Only myths and science fiction are reality to me.

I am nothing,
If not filth and purity combined.

I am evil, I am good
I am war and I am peace, truth and lies, love and hate,
I am contrast beyond all contrast
I am human,… imperfection at its best.

that's what being human means to me....what does it mean to you?

Do you know that swimmers will practice with extra clothes and weights on? This makes them stronger and faster for competition, when they strip off as much as they can including shaving all their hair.

This is how I view the human experience. We have put on these bodies to strengthen our souls.

We have to put on bodies so that we can interract with other souls also have had to put on bodies while on this poluted planet, with our real memories locked away.

I love that line, "...imperfection at its best"!

A friend of mine spent considerable time and effort to teach me to do my best rather than seek the illusion of perfection.

I don't believe in perfection.....doing one's best is the best road to take, in my opinion

thanks, Sunstone :D.....I'm glad you liked it

Let poetry beget poetry then: (King Of The Forest)

So long had I walked.....
In a forest amoungst the trees.
Soon I saw them no longer,
Only what I should please.

Feeling alone I stopped to think.
My crown no longer did I possess.
Had I lost or sold my halo?
I was left with only distress.

For a brief moment I paused,
At the sight of an early dawn.
In solitude and silence,
I noticed the trees were gone.

Someone had cut them all down,
Leaving me and the sky so blue.
Where ever I may roam now...
Know my thoughts are still of you.

That is what it is to be human to me. Thoughts of "our perfection" as humans leads us to hubris. Hubris leads us to lose all that we should have taken care of and nurtured in this place. The less we have, the less we learn, the less we care......When we stop caring, then humans do become nothing and not all that you have said.
