Bible prophecy alert

If you are interested in Bible prophecy then you should read this link http://www.pressdisplay.com/pressdisplay/iphone/homepage.aspx#_article1054102953

I will check it out. I fully beleive in all biblical prophesy, especially apocalyptic writings of Rev. and Daniel. Skeptical unbelievers have a point tho. Too many cults and well meaning preachers go against scripture and claim they know the day and the hour of Jesus return. The bible clearly states that not even Jesus knows the exact time, he said only the father knows. God bless you TG and don't worry. That doesn't mean dont prepare for catastrophic events. Putting a little food clean water etc away is simply dirt cheap insurance. Some metal head called being prepared 'healthy paranoia'. I agree!

Most of the anti christian replies (above) are simply pure horse ****. Can I do that <<<? Anyway one of the best prophecy is Israel becoming a state in one day etc...... Oh wait that is self fulfilling prophesy! Wow, I REALLY want a self fulfilling prophesy, make mine a nation populated by women, well me being the one exception! I want it by Friday. So how does one go about having a prophesy like that fulfilled? Especially one written two thousand years ago (more or less). It would be impossible or nearly so! The Pals tried it and look at them! Ok,ok .... Well at least the skeptics cant say that the 'Israel prophesy' was written before the fact....which is another favorite excuse of theirs. The thing is it doesn't matter what evidence we have there are some atheists and secular types that would not admit the truth if God tattooed it on their forehead with a custom created low amp lighting bolt!

Bold empty claim.

I suspect you will before the end of your post.

Actually, God conveys his messages in a way that allows sincere seekers of truth to search them out. Doubt and skepticism reflects the view that some people have of the Bible. Sadly, many have never taken the time to make an honest examination of it. Many prophecies were recorded for our investigation. An example: In the sixth century B.C.E., the prophet Daniel saw a vision that foretold the rapid defeat of Medo-Persia by Greece. It also foretold that as soon as the victorious king of Greece “became mighty,” his kingship would be “broken.” Daniel wrote: “There are four kingdoms from his nation that will stand up, but not with his power.”—Daniel 8:5-8, 20-22.
What historians say...Over 200 years after Daniel’s time, Alexander the Great became king of Greece. Within ten years, Alexander defeated the Medo-Persian Empire and extended Grecian rule as far as the Indus River. But he died suddenly at the age of 32. Finally, a battle near Ipsus in Asia Minor effectively dissolved his empire. The four victors of that battle eventually divided the Grecian Empire among themselves. However, none of them attained Alexander’s degree of power.

Here's another....“Babylon, the decoration of kingdoms, the beauty of the pride of the Chaldeans, must become as when God overthrew Sodom and Gomorrah. She will never be inhabited.”—Isaiah 13:19, 20.

Fulfillment...In a shocking turn of events, the mighty world power of Babylon fell before a combined army of Medes and Persians in 539 B.C.E. The city never fully recovered. Rather, it slowly declined and eventually became a desolate waste “without an inhabitant.

What history reveals...Babylon’s disappearance was so complete that scholar Tom Boiy speaks about “Western historians and travellers from the sixteenth until eighteenth century” who were familiar with the city’s symbolic value had problems identifying “the exact location.”

The prophecies of Isaiah are especially noteworthy because they were recorded about 200 years in advance—perhaps 150 years before Cyrus was even born! Consider the following:
A man named Cyrus would conquer Babylon and free the Jews.—Isaiah 44:28; 45:1.
The Euphrates River would dry up, opening the way for Cyrus’ army.—Isaiah 44:27.
The city gates would be left open.—Isaiah 45:1.
Babylon’s military would ‘cease to fight.’—Jeremiah 51:30; Isaiah 13:1, 7.
It all came true.

PROPHECIES ABOUT ABRAHAM AND HIS DESCENDANTS
The descendants of the faithful man Abraham would become a great nation, later called the nation of Israel.—Genesis 12:1, 2.
Abraham’s descendants would return to the land of Canaan after living in a foreign land for four generations.—Genesis 15:13, 16.
Abraham’s descendants would take possession of “the entire land of Canaan.”—Genesis 17:8.
Because the Israelites rebelled against God, he would allow them to be conquered and taken captive.—Jeremiah 25:8-11.
God would restore the Jews to their homeland after they spent 70 years in captivity.—Jeremiah 25:12; 29:10.
The Babylonian world power would be overthrown, and in time Babylon would become rubble.—Isaiah 13:19, 20.

PROPHECIES ABOUT THE MESSIAH AND HIS FOLLOWERS
The Messiah, or Christ, would stem from the family line of King David.—Isaiah 9:7.
The future Messiah would be born in Bethlehem.—Micah 5:2.
The Messiah would appear 483 years after “the going forth of the word to restore and to rebuild Jerusalem.” That word was given in 455 B.C.E.—Daniel 9:25.
Before his execution, the Messiah would be severely flogged.—Isaiah 50:6.
The Messiah would be executed as a despised criminal, yet he would be buried with “the rich class.”—Isaiah 53:9.
Christ’s followers would spread his message throughout Judea, Samaria, and the rest of the known world.—Acts 1:8.
Christians would be persecuted.—Mark 13:9.

There is so much more...this is why I have confidence in the fulfillment of the prophecies applying to our time period. It is true that no one knows the day or the hour...but Jesus did give signs to look for so we could keep on the watch.

Time will tell
Will it?

That's the thing about prophecy: when one fails, it usually gets reinterpreted.

"Oh... I know I SAID that A, B, and C were signs that X would happen, and X didn't happen even though A, B, and C did... but I guess I meant some other A, B, and C. Or this is when things started that will cause X to happen some time in the future... or something else as long as we don't say the prediction failed."
