If we had a universal government?

Thank you.

And, you're welcome.

Now, get up on your feet and join me. I might be looking for a Secretary of the Interior. Shall we discuss?

LOL.

I wouldn't want a universal government for the most part because we can't even have a country without having corrupt people. A corrupt person with lots of control like a universal government would be disastrous

But let's say that if I was in charge this is exactly what I would do.

1. Let people actually have freedom of speech unlike today in America, where apparently if it offends anyone, you're not allowed to express it. which basically means you have no free speech. Unless someone is threatening someone, people should say what they feel, however stupid it may be.

2.Legalize all drugs. As strange as that sounds, prohibition does not work. At all. It didn't work for beer, why would it work for any other drug? It hasn't and more people have suffered under the War on Drugs. If they want to take drugs and are not harming anyone, does anyone really care? I don't like the drugs but throwing them in jail is not the right solution and is really a totalitarian way of solving this problem. If someone has a drug problem, you have families, friends and organizations to help, not some government. I would try not to get involved with such things.

3.There should be no gun control or melee weapon control. Crime will decrease if more people are armed. Aside from using it to protect yourself in case criminals attack it's also to help you in case your government becomes corrupt and oppresses you. Criminals are less likely going to go after people if they know they are armed. I never understood why certain melee weapons were banned like nunchaku or other martial arts weapons. Everyone has a right to carry them. Training classes to handle such weapons would be available and really be helpful if people want to use it safely as the classes would be really inexpensive. It should never be illegal for a person to defend themselves and others and lots of tyrannical governments want the populace armed. I wouldn't allow weapon control.

4.Try not to get involved with other countries' affairs. Don't ally yourself with others but become friends and trade with other people and don't put sanctions on people as that will usually involve conflict in the end.

5.Try to increase our educational system. Ours isn't very good and poverty and crime exist often due to lack of education. Colleges are way too expensive and should be seriously cut down so people can learn more. Medical practices also cost way more than they should, even when you visit a doctor from the clinic.

6. I would use money backed by something that actually has value like gold and silver. Paper money is worth no more than monopoly money.

7. No fluoride in the water as water should be pure and that ingesting fluoride is bad which is why they say you shouldn't eat toothpaste, and GMO or modified food or artificial ingredients. they are unhealthy as well as addictive and people should make healthier versions of them that not only taste good but are good for you. Processed foods isn't the way to go.

8. Let people worship whatever they wish. Outlawing religion is tyrannical and pointless in the long run as people will still practice whether you make a law or not. As long as they harm no one, it should not matter what they believe. People think we have a Muslim problem and it isn't true. There are lots of Muslims that don't do such things. How can you be for Freedom of Religion and say "All religions may be practiced, well except these few" That doesn't make sense. Let them believe what they wish to believe.

9. Stop torture. Torturing POW to get information is barbaric and pointless. You don't need to resort to such barbarism. And you don't know if the soldier even has information or the right information. It's an old military trick for soldiers to be fed false information in case they get captured. So the whole thing is pointless

My first act would be to dissolve the one world government, return all power to individual sovereign nations and enact international laws prohibiting the rebuilding of any worldwide system of control. I'd then go back to my gardening and let the world's nations continue to kill each other. Peace is so over-rated.

So then pluralism is the answer?

No. I find it fundamentally problematic to look for "the answer" as if there is one in the first place. I am simply a pluralist by values, and would not support a universal government that cannot hope to accommodate the diversity of human cultures within its framework.

If we had a universal government and you had a great deal of influence, what changes would you make in order to obtain world peace and remove the major problems in the world?

If you elect me dictator of the universal government, I promise to put a end to this clone war, stamp out the separatists, restore civility throughout the galactic empire, put a subsidy in place for public dark matter, and construct a Death Star suitable for securing us from Muslims forever.

Peace be upon you.
Ok so we would have to admit that there would be individuals that would not comply, what do you do with them? They are affecting the world we live in.
See initial assumption was "If we had a universal government....." so it would have to be seen how good governments deal with those who do not comply. Start with educate them, reason with them,.......and more. But have the writ of govnmnt.

Nuke the world. XD (Sorry, other species. We're just stupid and don't care about ourselves, let alone you.)

Humans will never stop fighting with each other. Either humanity will overcome its brutal, warlike parts of its nature (not likely) or kill off humanity. That's the only real way to world peace.
