I chose Unitarian Universalism not because I am a UU but because it best describe my ideas, however I can also identify with Christianity (through upbringing), Hinduism (through temple worship and mantras) and Buddhism (through meditation). I am a Pluralist because I believe I can learn from anyone and there is something of the truth in all. God is One with many Names and many Manifestations.

I'd probably choose Unitarian Universalism, it's a very nice community and if I ever went to church I'd probably go there. I guess you could call me a non-denominational polytheist. I don't really believe in outright worshiping because I don't feel it's productive to enlightenment, I prefer simple veneration and working with deities as I need.

Other: Eclectic between Chaos Magick, Wicca, Druidism, Hereditary Witchcraft, Transcendentalism, Lucifarinism, Aset Ka, Taoism, Isisism, and Dynastic Egyptian Pantheon.

I practice a form of Japanese philosophy, Sōminrigaku, which more or less can be described as the Japanese brand of Neo-Confucianism that rose to prominence during the rule of Tokugawa Shogunate of the Edo Period. However, I had been a Buddhist for a long time (of Zen, Shingon and Shugendo sects) and I do still incorporate a lot of Buddhism's consciousness-related stuff into Sōminrigaku. Also, plenty of concepts and rituals that originate from Shintō carried over to it. I guess the best way you could call it would be 'traditional Japanese syncretic philosophy', but Sōminrigaku is probably the closest at this point.

I believe that there is an underlying 'Absolute' to the reality, that is the sustenance of the latter and the final principle, first and last. I do not assign sentience, agency or character to this 'Absolute' (Shin'nyo), but I do not write it off as a possibility either. I am more interested in the, I suppose metaphysical, mechanisms that bring arising to the temporal, fluctuating reality. So, given that the question of divinity has been put aside over here in favor of cosmic technicalities, I would probably be what they call an 'apathetic agnostic'.

I find that over the years my beliefs evolve but there remain core principles of compassion and lovingkindness. My early years were spent in the Roman Catholic tradition, followed by a change to trinitarian Protestantism. More recently I embrace the concepts of Unitarian Universalism and Buddhist philosophy. Each religious experience has become a stepping stone to the next. I have had to strip away some dogma that just didn't make sense to me, but the basic beliefs in the goodness of people and the importance of compassion remain constant.

I am part of a faith community that begins worship by saying that "...whoever you are, or wherever you are on your faith journey, you are welcome here." That feels about right.

I'm a Transcendentalist Pantheist Chaote

And I'm a Aethistic Satanist Chaote (and also a Daoist to apparently)

Do you have to complicate everything?

Do you have to complain about everything?

My answer has, indeed, changed since last I posted on this thread. I was a Unitarian Universalist, but now I'm a Charismatic Holiness Christian hoping to join the Anglican Church.

Mods, maybe if you'd be so kind, we could sticky this thread for a while. You know...so it's not meaningless.
Well, lets see. I am a Christian. I attend a Baptist church but have moved way beyond Baptist. I am not a fundamentalist by any stretch of the imagination. I am very much a seeker and a work in progress. I am inspired by the gentle Monk, Thich Nhat Hanh and his belief in friendly dialogue between religious traditions. I believe that there are many positive things we can learn from each other by honest and open discussions.

I did not notice a choice for Satanists, so I chose Wiccan/Druid, who share some of our beliefs. For all of you who chose Christianity, I am sorry.. Hopefully one day you will wake-up and see the light as have I. I was once lost too, but, like your Paulie from the NT epistles says, I put away those childish things. Thanks! Hail.
