You gave us the choice. Love OR Wisdom. Can we not have both with a loving God? If we do not have wisom, then aren't we ignorant?
What I give you is of little relevance. God asks you to love everyone from your heart.

Really, someone who knows God would never have to ask the original question. The holy spirit has a way through prayer of making sense of it all. Read the bible and ask the Lord to guide you through the reading and mean it and he will shed light. Men wrote the bible, yes. but it was done throught God. So in order for it to make sense we need to ask God to give us an insite that only he can give. When I was reading the bible, if I did not pray beforehand, it made no sense. See what some people see as contradictions, they have been answered to a christain. Christains pray and meditate on it until they "feel" from God what is right. Another thing we need to think is how wise the bible is in it's writings. Through contadictions it tests faith. And what is right for you might well not be right for me, God might give me a different insight then he gives you thus making my opinion different then your, but non of us are wrong if were enlightened from God.

I hope I make sense, it's very late!

If you don't like it, you don't have to read it. Perhaps, if you had a better grasp of the Bible and the precepts it stands for, you wouldn't be so quick to make disparaging and untoward remarks.
Actually, I like it a great deal, and I've read it extensively. Your evaluation of my 'grasp' is simply worthless.

Amazingly enough, that was the focus of the service I went to last night.

Yet you say,
[QUOTEAnd you keep pretending it [the Bible] to be something that it is not. It's a shallow pretense.[/QUOTE]

Maybe I'm missing something here. See your quotations highlighted in red. In one post, you disparage the Bible as "a shallow pretense." In the next post, you assert that you "like it a great deal." Why, if it's a shallow pretense, do you like it a great deal? Is it for the "entertainment value?"

This sums it up for me. Things are the way they are for a purpose. I don't believe the Bible to be without error, but I do believe it to be that way for a purpose. I don't view passages that conflict with each other as contradictions. I view them as a different calling for different people. What is is good for one person may not be good for me and vice versa. That's why we have the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit will guide the humble on the path that God has chosen for them.

Yes, you are missing something here. Again ...
... you keep pretending it [the Bible] to be something that it is not. It's a shallow pretense.
The pretense I was referring to is yours.

Apparently, pretense is in the mind of the beholder.
