Watchtower Governing Body: Are They The Exclusive Channel For God??

JayJayDee

Avid JW Bible Student
They don't know about things like that. The GB has got them right were they want them.

Where has the GB got us where they want us? In what way are we hoodwinked? Should we not be out declaring the good news as one United people in all the world? Should we not live moral lives in a world steeped in immorality? Should we become part of the world and share its bloodguilt? Should we celebrate pagan festivals under another name and offend the God who told us to keep ourselves spiritually clean?

What do the GB have that they are not entitled to as Christ's brothers?

Be careful where you place your confidence. Remember that satan turned the entire nation of Israel against Jesus despite the fact that he was the son of God. Only a relative "few" individuals responded to his preaching. Jesus said it would be like this for his true disciples. (Matt7:13, 14) Not a good word was to be said for them. (John 15:18-21)
But especially is this significant when speaking against Christ's "brothers". This is what designates a "goat"....not doing good to the least of his "brothers" is not doing it to him. Eternal destruction is their fate.

So here we have Jesus telling us that there are theree categories of people linked to this judgment. There are the "sheep" who do good to Christ's " brothers" and the "goats" who do not....so who are Christ's brothers? They are the ones chosen to rule with him in his kingdom. The anointed are Christ's brothers. The governing body are anointed brothers of Christ who act as the appointed slave, feeding the entire household "their food at the proper time". No one is forced to believe that, but be careful in your judgment....according to Jesus, the "goats" are completely unaware of their negligence until after it is too late. Dangerous ground you are treading. Feeding at the table of apostates will result in poisoning your whole mind and heart. Eat there at your own risk. :(

I look at this forum in the light of Hebrews 10:24-25. I have visited other forums, and they are no where close to the ease of understanding as this one. This forum is easy to navigate, and has some knowledgeable people. I appreciate you for making it!!

Heb 10:24-25 (ESVST) 24 And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works, 25 not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Yes it's a great place to meet, and the people are very nice.

But there is nothing like gathering with my congregation a few times a week. I get so much encouragement from my brothers and sisters. They truly help me to stay on the straight and narrow. It's so important to surround ourselves with like minded people who love the Lord.

The point is that in all these situations the apostles were doing the wrong things. The early christian congregation had the wrong idea about gentiles and mosiac law....they held onto the mosaic law for many years before lettting it go. The scriptures clearly said that God would institute a 'new covenant not like the old covenant' in the book of Jeremiah, yet the apostles continued to abide by Mosaic law after Christ had instituted the new covenant at he last supper. They still didn't fully comprehend the significance until much later and yet Jehovah continued to use them as his servants.

They may not have understood, i totally agree with that. But show me where they "TAUGHT" something they "UNDERSTOOD" to be truth for many years and then said, "Well we miss understood that, it's actually this way." The Bible tells us of the things the disciples didn't grasp right then, but no where does it say that they "TAUGHT" as a truth that would ruin peoples lives if they didn't accept it. Just show me one instance of that happening. They misunderstood, I accept that, "BUT THEY DIDN'T TEACH IT ANYWAY" and hold people accountable for believing something that might be in error! You have to do better than that, I am not blinded by the sweet talking of the GB.

Psa 146:3-4 (ESVST) 3 Put not your trust in princes, in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation. 4 When his breath departs, he returns to the earth; on that very day his plans perish.

Psa 118:8 (ESVST) 8 It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man.

Isa 2:22 (ESVST) 22 Stop regarding man in whose nostrils is breath, for of what account is he?

Jer 17:5 (ESVST) 5 Thus says the Lord: "Cursed is the man who trusts in man and makes flesh his strength, whose heart turns away from the Lord

I don't take anything man tells me as the "GOSPEL."

It is obvious that the faithful and discreet slave gets appointed over all God's belongings AFTER Judgement Day.

Pro 3:5-8 (ESVST) 5 Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. 6 In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Does anyone pray for the other before conversing on this forum?

Eph 1:15-20 (ESVST) 15 For this reason, because I have heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love toward all the saints, 16 I do not cease to give thanks for you, remembering you in my prayers, 17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of him, 18 having the eyes of your hearts enlightened, that you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might 20 that he worked in Christ.
I cannot speak for others, but I do pray that I may say the right things and discover truth, but that others will find it as well..

Exo 4:21-22 (ESVST) . 22 Then you shall say to Pharaoh, 'Thus says the Lord, Israel is my firstborn son,

WT *** w13 7/15 p. 3 par. 3 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
3 For a number of years, we thought that the great tribulation began in 1914

Exo 7:16-17 (ESVST) . 17 Thus says the Lord, "By this you shall know that I am the Lord:

WT *** w13 7/15 p. 13 “Look! I Am With You All the Days” ***
However, Matthew 13:43 points to the time when they will shine brightly in the heavenly Kingdom. Previously, we thought that both scriptures referred to the same activity—the preaching work.

Jos 7:12-13 (ESVST) you. 13 Get up! Consecrate the people and say, ' Consecrate yourselves for tomorrow; for thus says the Lord, God of Israel,

WT *** w13 7/15 p. 8 par. 17 “Tell Us, When Will These Things Be?” ***
We understood that the “arriving” mentioned in verse 46 was linked to the time when Jesus came to inspect the spiritual condition of the anointed in 1918

Jos 24:1-2 (ESVST) . 2 And Joshua said to all the people, "Thus says the Lord, the God of Israel,

WT *** w14 3/15 p. 5 Reaching the Heart of Unbelieving Relatives ***
Thus, they were with the apostles and others in an upper room in Jerusalem and evidently received the holy spirit.

This is the difference between a "SPIRIT DIRECTED" channel of God and the GB. Were not all the prophets "IMPERFECT MEN?"

The active demonstration of faith. There is both feigned belief which pretends a faith but one that does not prove to walk as it ought to by God's true love; And then there is genuine belief which is the work of a faith that actively works God's true love.

It is all too easy for one to be zealous yet self-deceived, mistaking that feigned belief as the belief Jesus spoke of.

Hence comes the erroneous idea that profession is a one time thing which instantly saves.

James 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

Let us see if Paul agrees:

Romans 2:3 And thinkest thou this, O man, that judgest them which do such things, and doest the same, that thou shalt escape the judgment of God?
4 Or despisest thou the riches of his goodness and forbearance and longsuffering; not knowing that the goodness of God leadeth thee to repentance?
5 But after thy hardness and impenitent heart treasurest up unto thyself wrath against the day of wrath and revelation of the righteous judgment of God;
6 Who will render to every man according to his deeds:
7 To them who by patient continuance in well doing seek for glory and honour and immortality, eternal life:
8 But unto them that are contentious, and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, indignation and wrath,
9 Tribulation and anguish, upon every soul of man that doeth evil, of the Jew first, and also of the Gentile;
10 But glory, honour, and peace, to every man that worketh good, to the Jew first, and also to the Gentile:
11 For there is no respect of persons with God.
You nailed , my friend. I could not agree more.

1Co 12:27-28 (ESVST) 27 Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. 28 And God has appointed in the church first apostles, second prophets, third teachers, then miracles, then gifts of healing, helping, administrating, and various kinds of tongues.

Anyone see a hint of the GB? You would think if it was appointed by God it would be here, right? And notice, "EVERYTHING" God appointed is "PLURAL"

It takes learning and applying --ALL-- of Jesus' truths. To see clearly, it cannot be proven to one who has not accomplished that.
What you really mean is that it takes learning and applying what Watchtower calls truth.

Watchtower's so-called truths are not Jesus' truths.

Bottom line, you cannot prove that the GB is God's exclusive channel with the Scriptures.

The body of Christ, which is the church Jesus gave His life for, is made up of ALL christians, and not a handful of so-called annointed men known as the Governing Body.

I totally agree! And I think, how bad was the world through history, that God couldn't find the144,000 in all the centuries that have passed. And the JW's claim that we are in the worst part of the history of the world. But there they are, 8+ more of the 144,000.

And just to clarify, I have nothing against JW's personally, nothing. I admire your passion and loyalty. If all of Christ's followers were like most of you, only preach and teach Jesus, not armaggedon and paradise earth, the world would be a better place.

And you know a "QUESTION" is prophecy why?

because the entire passage is about the prophecy of the 'last days' and the time when Christ would reappear

Matt 24:
36 “Concerning that day and hour nobody knows,+ neither the angels of the heavens nor the Son, but only the Father.+ 37 For just as the days of Noah were,+ so the presence* of the Son of man will be.+ 38 For as they were in those days before the Flood, eating and drinking, men marrying and women being given in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,+ 39 and they took no note until the Flood came and swept them all away,+ so the presence of the Son of man will be. 40 Then two men will be in the field; one will be taken along and the other abandoned. 41 Two women will be grinding at the hand mill; one will be taken along and the other abandoned.+ 42 Keep on the watch, therefore, because you do not know on what day your Lord is coming.+

43 “But know one thing: If the householder had known in what watch* the thief was coming,+ he would have kept awake and not allowed his house to be broken into.+ 44 On this account, you too prove yourselves ready,+ because the Son of man is coming at an hour that you do not think to be it.

45 “Who really is the faithful and discreet* slave whom his master appointed over his domestics, to give them their food at the proper time?+46 Happy is that slave if his master on coming finds him doing so!+ 47 Truly I say to you, he will appoint him over all his belongings.

So when Jesus told his disciples that they do not know the day or hour, he warned them to be ready and concluded by saying that the master will appoint all his belongings to the slave who is faithful and discreet at that time. If you think its a rhetorical question, and it may be, what point do you think Jesus was making?

What do you have against armageddon? Gods war will come and we are all involved. Its no good simply pushing it under the rug like it doesnt exist. That is not what the holy spirit would motivate a christian to do.

And what do you have against paradise earth? Wasnt that Gods purpose in the very beginning?? Do you disagree that the earth is something precious and worth looking after??

Eph 4:10-12 (ESVST) things.) 11 And he gave the apostles, the prophets, the evangelists, the shepherds and teachers, 12 to equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.

Nope, no hint of a GB here either. There is evangelists tho'. Wonder where they get that appointment from? No JW has ever answered that question. They always avoid it.

Maybe this is why:

*** it-2 p. 244 Lie ***
The opposite of truth. Lying generally involves saying something false to a person who is entitled to know the truth and doing so with the intent to deceive or to injure him or another person. A lie need not always be verbal.

*** it-2 p. 245 Lie ***
While malicious lying is definitely condemned in the Bible, this does not mean that a person is under obligation to divulge truthful information to people who are not entitled to it.

Who isn't entitled to know the truth?
How is it determined that a person isn't entitled to know the truth?
Who is righteous enough to make that determination?

Mat 7:1-6 (ESVST) 1 " Judge not, that you be not judged. 2 For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you. 3 Why do you see the speck that is in your brother 's eye, but do not notice the log that is in your own eye? 4 Or how can you say to your brother, ' Let me take the speck out of your eye, ' when there is the log in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take the speck out of your brother' s eye.
6 "Do not give dogs what is holy, and do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you.

I admit, I don't know how to take verse 6 in light of the context, but I really don't understand how they get it's ok to not tell the truth or keep info from anyone.
