Moses says,In Deuteronomy 18 Moses talking to the Israelites, “The Lord your God will raise up for you a Prophet like me from your midst, from your brethren.” God said, “I will raise up for them a Prophet like you from among their brethren, and will put My words in His mouth, and He shall speak to them all that I command Him.” Jesus Says, “He who believes in Me, believes not in Me but in Him who sent Me. And he who sees Me sees Him who sent Me.I have come as a light into the world, that whoever believes in Me should not abide in darkness. And if anyone hears My words and does not believe, I do not judge him; for I did not come to judge the world but to save the world. He who rejects Me, and does not receive My words, has that which judges him—the word that I have spoken will judge him in the last day. According to Jesus His words are of God, Why would anyone want to follow inspired word rather than the real thing?

I am a little confused. So are you saying why listen to Jesus?
I thought he was saying, why listen to what Jesus says in the NT when you could just ask him yourself. I guess the OP believes that Jesus had a change of heart since then? Maybe?

Wait is this the Christian DIR? My mistake.

I'm confused. His words were written down and, thus, were not "straight from the horse's mouth" (or written by Jesus himself). So, we have writings by people who were claiming that they were able, through divine inspiration, to get the accurate portrayal of what Jesus did/said.
