Why are most religions so terrified of free sexuality?

I have some thoughts on it I'll list. Besides that, have at it!

- Religions like Christianity or Islam rely on egotism to succeed while sexual freedom is possibly the best tool for lessening the ego.

- Control our most basic needs, control us. If we can't experience the true pleasure we need we will seek it elsewhere.

- Sex is physical and even the mental aspects of it become physical with sexual freedom (just talking about moving out of missionary position isn't exactly a sexual act.) Religions rely on pleasures not of the physical world.

- Sex is the perfect way to understand the mystical union of opposites at the heart of reality. This union doesn't work with controlling good v. evil paradigms.

Because they are interested on the major things that give shape to your life, meaning to your identity and spirit.

I agree with your first two points.

I've often wondered why religions and their adherents seem to be inordinately concerned about what goes on in people's bedrooms, while ostensibly caring very little about what goes on in corporate boardrooms. It does appear that any kind of sexual sins are relatively easy and convenient for religion to attack, whereas they turn the blind eye to sins related to greed, big business, and the abuses of political power. Sexual sins are one of the few things that religion can actually attack without rocking the boat of the power structure.

Sexual freedom?

Honestly I'm not sorry that my religion doesn't encourage promiscuity. Self control is to be desired over self indulgence.
It's not the religion trying to control you, It's the religion that encourages self-control.

There's no fear, no conspiracy theory, it's just one of many ways to better oneself.
If you don't want to be better or don't think it's better, Then lo and behold you have a choice not to do it.

Well that's about it in a nutshell. More control over the adherents.

Humanity should be terrified of the results of irresponsible (sometimes called "free") sexuality.

Sexuality produces future generations.

Responsible sexuality produces healthy future generations.

Is that so? You'd have to show that all couples who had your idea of " responsible sex" had healthy children. Hell, considering that higher intelligence people tend to have less children, you can see why your point is a bit silly.

We are a slave to anything that has mastered us.

True! Probably best not to let someone control such an important aspect of your life.

See, people associating free sexuality with promiscuity or over indulgence just proves my point through irony. So you want to have sex before marriage, you're automatically an irresponsible sex maniac with no self control. Thank for proving my point :)

Sex is important to the human psyche; sex involves care of others and deep responsibility toward others; sex is seen as a deeply spiritual thing. So it is safeguarded for specific times, purposes and people.

But you can't call it safeguarding when there's no danger in the first place. Again I'll ask how homosexual, oral, or masturbatory sex are inherently harmful.

I think its simply that these religions are based off writings of people who believed the Earth was flat. They were not the smartest.

Most religions believe that sex is most beneficial when acted out in consenting, committed relationships.

Which addresses things like homosexuality, oral sex, masturbation, fetishes, roleplaying, etc. how, exactly? You're avoiding the question here.
