I ran across this today, and found it so very interesting. I'm still new to the concept of Deism, and while there are days that I find myself being tugged at by atheism, I feel that Deism fits with my worldview, and personal ideas about a possible Deity.

There are only two reasonable positions on the existence of God, deism and atheism. From our perspective in this life, there's no practical difference; and the only difference at all between the two is the hope deism offers.
Since all other religions are founded on divine/spiritual revelation, that is, hearsay, they are reasonably incompatible with deism (or atheism). That includes Christianity. To deduce a reasonable moral code, it's better to start from scratch, than with the entrenched traditions and trappings of a religion whose first priority is it's own aggrandizement. They all pay lip service to some form of the simple golden rule as a moral code, but then pile on massive quantities of taboos and "divine" prohibitions as to make the whole idea of morality absurd and unworkable.
What's a reasonably deduced moral code (from one assumption, the universal desire and benefit from good order), try this one one: Morality is honoring the
equal rights of
all to life, liberty, property and self-defense, to be free from violation through force or fraud.
The root of ALL evil is a moral/legal double standard. Thus the only thing that should be legislated is morality.
That's it. Simple as that. All else is individually determined virtue to which only non-violent social pressure can be applied.
