Fess up, how many members do you have on "Ignore"?

I have three, but I think that number is about to increase when I read what a few people have posted on the "I Can't Breathe" thread that just turns my stomach.
If one added all members to their ignore list it would certainly lighten the load of wading through threads.

It also helps to trim the <alerts>. Dang, those things can mount up! So I ignore posters & posts mostly by my own inaction & incompetence. Still....you'll notice that I'm pretty busy.

None.

Not because of some nice principal that makes me a good person though .... it's simply because I've done it before on other forums, but then I always hit the "You cannot see this post because you have blocked this user - READ ANYWAY" button, 'just to see how bad their post it today'........ yup, says more about me than any 'enemy' of mine! :)

I don't use the ignore feature, but I've noticed there are several members whose posts I almost always skip over. But even them I tend to read at least once or twice a year.

Thritto!

I mean, me three!

Some members I do ignore replying to, but I don't really ignore their posts nor put them on ignore. One day they might learn something and change to the better.

I don't think anyone could write things that would cause me to put them on ignore, though a couple have come perilously close. I resisted the knee-jerk urge.

None, I did put one on ignore for a day last year and then took them off. Its not my style.

That's right. And occasionally such characters can provide entertainment value. ;)

I use the "ignore" feature on anyone who is rude and/or disrespectful to me.

I "ignore" anyone permanently who acts catty and passive-aggressive with me, and makes snide comments about me behind my back. I take a "zero tolerance" stance to that sort of thing.

Advocating extremist political stances which, if implemented, would lead to my death, is another ground for "ignoring" someone in my book.

Respect your own dignity. That's my motto. Life's too short to waste it on toxic interactions with people on the Internet.

I've never put anyone on ignore and I don't intend to. I often put people on "soft ignore" where I may skim or read their posts but think nothing of them. IMO the best way to deal with difficult people online is not to interact with them, and spend time with positive people instead. And not take teh internetz too seriously. :)
