Should the west support the fight against ISIS? And to what extent?

Should the western powers stay out of the conflict with ISIS

Im just wondering what the general idea is about whether the united States and other Allies should get involved

I think it's not ideal, but inevitable, for further future involvement. We already kick some ISIS butt here and there as we please.

There's some degree of waiting for those who cried for us to leave, to beg us to come back...going on.

I voted "no", but that may be deceptive because there's some contingencies that I have to attach but don't have time to do right now.

Hi SM

Accautly the West involved with ISIS ,since 3 years ago , when West and Kings of Oil supported the rebelles (whom suppose rebelles) against Syrian Army/Bashar Regime .

honestly millions of Muslims and some Westerns are paying /consqunces of involved of the West in Iraq and Libya and Syria .

I posted in that time a threads about this
back to the past , and please check my old thread about this issue :
why the west support the terrorism in Syria | ReligiousForums.com

Could ISIS be comparable to Nazi Germany?.
I believe it to be in that they give their allegiance
to a man/Führer,and believe/follow one idealogy
like was the case with Nazism,or later Communism.
Was not ISIS primary objective supposed to be the
removalof the Assad regime in Syria?.
Because if that were to be the case,he´d already have
been gone a long time ago.,would he not?.
But as of today the man is still in power.
Is it that their actually scared of the man,or respect him?.
And when they failed to oust him,did they not turn their
undivided attention to Iraq and its minority Christian and
Kurdish populations?.
As to commit unspeakable atrocities in the name of God.
Well, obviously that God,or their view of him,is not my God,
or one I´d like to be associated with/connected to.

It's tough because people are having horrific atrocities committed against them by what are essentially pre-medieval barbarians with assault rifles. It's hard to sit back and watch that and not want to use our various allied nations' power to do something about it.

But that being said, nothing good has ever really come of Western military involvement in that region and every short lived victory makes things worse in the long term.

My own opinion is we should help those who want to escape to escape and shelter them as best we can but otherwise keep our noses out. This kind of conflict should be handled by the other states in the region who have the power to do something but won't because they know they can rely on "the West" to deal with it and avoid getting their own hands dirty.

I'm in two minds about logistic and equipment support for groups like the Peshmerga. They are ostensibly friendly toward us but we've been down that road before.

They won't even bother with Isis aside from token gestures condemning their actions and maybe limited military assistance like air strikes to test the toys.

Frankly the US dosent actually even care what they do simply as long as Isis doesn't interfere with any strategic and economic interests like oil.

Sure. There is quite a lot that the USA can and probably should do there, particularly when it comes to defusing the fears and mutual distrusts.

I particularly favor raising, adding to the ranks of or at least sponsoring a new generation of Khudai Khidmatgar to act there, perhaps in conjunction with the Red Crescent.

It is the kind of initiative that ought to succeed even if it fails, so to speak.
