How does one come to understand God's Word?

Johnlove

Active Member
Going to a seminary to study the bible, and other people’s understanding of the bible does not bring one to an understanding of God’s written Word.

The disciples of Jesus were personally taught by Jesus for three years. Yet Jesus told them that he would send them the Holy Spirit to let them understand the complete truth.

(John 16:13) “But when the Spirit of truth comes he will lead you to the complete truth, since he will not be speaking as from himself but will say only what he has learnt; and he will tell you of the things to come.”

The only way one can come to know God is to have God lead him or her.

(1 Corinthians 2:10-13) “These are the very things that God has revealed to us through the Spirit, for the Spirit reaches the depts. Of everything, even the depths of God. After all, the depths of a man can only be known by his own spirit, not by any other man, and in the same way the depths of God can only be known by the Spirit of God

It is impossible to convey this to those who do not believe. They are able to receive from God or not. There is no force or pressure.

It is more a quest to be in position where own gift from God is fully attained and then to reveal His glory.

Yes and Paul explained it very well in the following scripture.

(1 Corinthians 2:12-16) “Now, the Spirit we have received is not the spirit of the world but God's own Spirit, so that we may understand the lavish gifts God has given us. And these are what we speak of, not in the terms learnt from human philosophy, but in terms learnt from the Spirit, fitting spiritual language to spiritual things. The natural person has no room for the gifts of God's Spirit; to him they are folly; he cannot recognise them, because their value can be assessed only in the Spirit. The spiritual person, on the other hand, can assess the value of everything, and that person's value cannot be assessed by anybody else. For: who has ever known the mind of the Lord? Who has ever been his adviser? But we are those who have the mind of Christ.”

Adam has one mind and consciousness that leads into sin and death in a biology.

Jesus resisted and overcame at all points and the new mind and consciousness can be taken up by those who follow. This will lead to immortality. This is the hope expressed.

What brings you to this evaluation of how, what, why?

My I ask you first if God has brought you also?
I believe God has done so, but would like to see what you have to say first.

The Christians that are met would resist somewhat, but it is all personal experience of God and being lead by the Spirit.
A lot has been shown. Because the scriptures are long and involved interpretation occurs and what is related and the power of it is not received.
The spirit cannot be received by a rebellious and unruly distracted mind.

The scriptures are true and it is obvious what was achieved by Jesus.

Would you mind if I asked you to read my prior post. Most of what you are asking me has been shared to others on this forum.

Then if you still have any questions ask me, and I will try to answer you.

Also it could be helpful if you would share some of your witness.

I have written a book in the posts made on this forum, I understand.

I just read one of your posts and you have been shown everything in a similar way.

At the beginning of my experience when I was drawn by God, I woke up one morning on my back and a full color hand was above my head. This is a blessing.

At 26 I had an experience of God and in it the mind of an immortal was shown with much knowledge. I was totally energized, partially collapsed and had difficulty breathing. There was a comparison at every point and this showed how mine did not measure up in the nature and personality that was produced, but the immortal mind is attainable.

Many years have gone by and my understanding is that Jesus resisted natural biological instinctive nature.

He resisted and won and the nature is extremely gentle and can not be comprehended or understood from the biologically driven mind.
I have experienced the Nature of Jesus and been fully energized by God. It was maintained for more than 3 days but a part of my old nature became obvious and the purity left me over several months. I was very vulnerable at this stage. It took 3 weeks of dedication to change, to be transformed by the renewing of my mind.
I didn't understand the scriptures that related to mind change until the experience occurred.
Jesus died to create a pattern of mind and nature that could be understood and kind of transposed into individuals that would try to overcome.

At 26 years an experience of God energized and my mind was opened to a pattern that lays the foundation for all creation, that is every thing seen is made to appear.
The understanding is this foundation and pattern is spoken into place. This is the word and the word became flesh and dwelt amongst us.
Joh 1:14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

At that time I woke one morning on my back, opened my eyes and a full color hand was above my head and then faded from view.
For three years whole complete concepts would fill my thoughts with no effort.
!4 years later while fasting I was lead through an experience of being in, or a partaker of the divine nature.
This nature is more gentle and pure and perfect than a human could imagine. It is not an emotionally charged display. God will fully energize this nature.

The scriptures are more about the method of entry into a sanctuary a Holy Place that is unable to be comprehended in the mind with out some preparation.
The way in is opened up progressively as forward momentum it taken during a fast.

The tendency is to make the scriptures an intellectual exercise rather realizing the method and then taking the steps toward the new nature.
It is more comfortable to keep the old nature inherited from Adam. This influenced by the hidden traits and aspects of the personality held in place by an adversarial spirit that prompts and tempts.

Jesus has told me that you know him, but he did not bring you to know him, in the same way as he did me.

Would you care to tell me just what Jesus has called you to do?

Have you had any visions of what your walk with Jesus is or is to be?

I have had the experience of His nature but could only maintain it for three days.

The life now has distractions and it would be best to sell everything. I have an engineering background and applied it to power generation. It is ongoing.

What has been "told" is that all distraction and my entire life must go if the divine nature is to be taken up.

I fasted for 3 weeks at 40 years. It began for health but ended in an easy explanation of what scriptures are about.
There is not much to do when there is no food to prepare and eat. There was an economic recession and I was making enough money in half a day or so to support the family over the week.
I read the scriptures and they began to have some reality to them. They were being fully believed. I prayed to be made Perfect and Holy, a short prayer three times a day. A preacher was listened to in the morning and evening who was regarded and perceived to be gentle on my inner parts.
Some preachers are like ravening wolves and they tear at the heart. It is felt in the chest.
This preacher had good Bible knowledge.
It is important to speak from an increasing sense of purity and holiness.
My mind began to change as I renounced memories of my past life and pushed everything away other than revelation that opened up the meaning of scriptures. My old mind began to lose its grip on the old reality.
I had a dream and it showed an angel about to sound a trumpet as he flew amongst the clouds. This is the fifth trumpet. ( A few weeks later Saddam Husein's forces attacked Kuwait.)
I continued on and one night many hidden aspects in my nature and personality revealed themselves. This was frightening but I was delivered from it.
The next night in a prayer I was able to use my will to thrust away every last bit of the attachments on my personality and my heart and spirit were broken deeply. The nature of Jesus floated down and covered and I became energized in a powerful Love.
This lasted several days but I came back into my old nature and became comfortable with it over several months.

You need to hang in there, you have a bumpy road ahead of you. Keep your eyes on Jesus, he will get you through.

Every one who is called and has the Holy Spirit is given access to a Holy Place.

Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.
2Co 4:7 But we have this treasure in earthen vessels, that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us.

Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.

2Co 10:5 Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;
The key point in the last verse is every thought.

2Co 4:2 But have renounced the hidden things of dishonesty, not walking in craftiness, nor handling the word of God deceitfully; but by manifestation of the truth commending ourselves to every man's conscience in the sight of God.

Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Heb 10:20 By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh;

1Ti 1:5 Now the end of the commandment is Love out of a pure heart, and of a good conscience, and of faith unfeigned:
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,

This scripture is the way and it will take a person into the sanctuary of God.
Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
Both must be done at the same time. A realm of the mind with hidden barriers to full belief must be confronted and expelled. Jesus has already won the battle and the weapons are sure.

Rom 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.
Faith comes by a Rhema an enlivened spirit filled word, a revelation.

Non believers and believers who are not actively seeking and weak in the faith must be kept away from until transformation is complete.

Mar 1:15 And saying, The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.

Allen, understand this, when one lives the Word of God he or she become the holy place.

A person who lives God’s Word is a temple of God, and that means he or she are in the kingdom of God.

(John 14: 23) “Anyone who loves me will keep my word and my Father will love him, and we shall come to him and make a home in him.”

(John 14:21) “Anybody who receives my commandments and keeps them will be one who loves me; and anybody who loves me will be loved by My Father, and I shall love him and show myself to him.”

Also Jesus said he would show himself to those who keep his commandments.

Allen, Jesus has shown himself to me, and he will also do so to you. So keep your eyes on him, and he will make sure that you will survive the bumpy road.

First let me share something Jesus once said to me. Jesus told me to get more into the Word. I did not understand, because it was always understood by me that Jesus was the Word. So I replied to Jesus: “But I am into you.”

Jesus then told me: “Also the written Word.” Jesus let me know that the bible is God’s written Word.

Notice the scripture above. One time Jesus said keep my word. And another time he said keeps his commandments.

God’s commandments are written in the bible.

I know that Jesus/Holy Spirit puts God’s commandments in my mind, and always gives me the grace to keep those commandments.

If one of the ten commandments is broken then the whole law is also.

This is where we diverge because although you may be sincere you may not be understanding the depth of the transformation of mind and heart required to hold the truth.
From the beginning when God draws a person another mind is revealed that contains the Spirit of all the scriptures. When read the scriptures are the truth because they were already known.

Eph 2:22 In whom ye also are builded together for an habitation of God through the Spirit.

2Pe 1:4 Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Rom 10:10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.

It is believing and talking out and obedience to the spirit while doing so that renews the mind.
But it is God's Spirit on a revelation spoken out, a Rhema. It is the Spirit of the Lord.

God's Spirit will transform not the letters on a page.

2Sa 23:2 The Spirit of the LORD spake by me, and his word was in my tongue.

Zec 4:6 Then he answered and spake unto me, saying, This is the word of the LORD unto Zerubbabel, saying, Not by might, nor by power, but by my spirit, saith the LORD of hosts.

Isa 51:7 Hearken unto me, ye that know righteousness, the people in whose heart is my law; fear ye not the reproach of men, neither be ye afraid of their revilings.

There is a transformation from a familiar mind to one usually unable to be comprehended. There is a crucial crossing over.

No the Ten Commandments were given to the Jews. Jesus came to complete the Law of the Prophets.

(Matthew 5:17) “Do not imagine that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets. I have come not to abolish but to complete them. I tell you solemnly, till heaven and earth disappear, not one dot, not one little stroke, shall disappear from the Law until its purpose is achieved.”

Jesus himself did not any longer observe the Old Law of the Sabbath.

Paul told us that it was OK if people still wanted to make one day holier then another, but it was no longer necessary.

(Romans 14: 5-7) “One person thinks that some days are holier than others, and another thinks them all equal. Let each of them be fully convinced in his own mind. The one who makes special observance of a particular day observes it in honour of the Lord. So the one who eats freely, eats in honour of the Lord, making his thanksgiving to God; and the one who does not, abstains from eating in honour of the Lord and makes his thanksgiving to God.”

You have a right to believe whatever you want, but you have no idea what depth God has me at, in my relationship with him.

I asked you a question before, and I will ask it again what ministry has Jesus called you to do?

Also have you seen Jesus, and I mean actually seen him?

Has Jesus called you out by your name? Have you heard his voice?

And stop trying to give like God has changed your mind.

I have the mind of Christ, but it is only that his thoughts will be my thought when he wants it to happen. Otherwise my mind is still just a function of my human flesh.
