Hi Avi, sorry it was not much of a good answer to your question,
but i have a question for those who read it ..... Did i do my Task yet ???
or do i have to walk the path and find more rocks to pound into pebbles ....

I have not yet done the one i consider most valuable or Important ...
World Peace .... but perhaps that must wait for the next life :)
still need to find a way to live up to my name .... :p

Gosh, ok World Peace it is then, bugger more hard work ...
small steps i guess.

1: a State homeland for the Philistines .... Perhaps Sinai or Some part of Syria or Iraq.
2: On Temple Mount build Both a Temple for us Hebrews and a Cathedral for the Xians.
3: Declare Jerusalem a Holy City, independent like the Vatican, or at least make Temple
mount and it's Environs that ...

4: Greater Power to the UN to act as a world govt, only they with the Army, controlling any borders that another state attempts to take over .... to ensure world Peace ...
5: Feed and Educate the world, with what we currently spend on war machines ...
6: Encourage limiting the size of families, so the world can support us all ..
7: A green economy, all and only renewable energy ...
8: Encourage a more Kibbutz like social structure ... work or occupation for everyone,
all equal .....

Well Perhaps you do, but i am of the opinion that there is and never was a Palestine,
its just the name the Romans gave our land when they destroyed the temple and threw us out around 70 CE .... Many and various Bedouin tribes moved in the apparently vacant land. and in fact over the Centuries with buy a tree in Israel run by most Synagogues we repurchased every farm and property owning around 95% before the UN gave it back to us.
Now the other Semites who lived there in 1947 and onwards were welcome to stay and be citizens of Israel .... And then came along the Egyptian ... Yasser Arafat to start the PLO ..
and i have lost count of the number of times war against Israel has been started by the neighbours ... seems we will always win ....

Now is a time for Solutions and Peace ... and tiny plots in Gaza and West Bank are no
solution .... Israel and Judea are for the Hebrews, we have title from Hashem !

Shalom

... And struggled to recover brain function ... had a friend living with me who
helped when i got completely lost and asked .. otherwise he allowed i could learn, fail
and try again ....
2.5 years a Zombie from time to time, until i purchased a computer and did educational
programs/games for teens to try recover function...

During the first year of my Injury i Founded the Head Injury Society of my Town
and some years Later a national organisation, from my perspective neither Parents
or the medical establishment had any clue how to rehabilitate an adult suddenly as
socially inept as a 5 year old ...

Of Course then came more study, Medical Gasses, Computer Electronics, Biomedical
Engineering, Certificate in Plant Maintenance, Master of Electrical Engineering .. etc.
In Spare time , i ran the local Head Injury support group, Founded a National organisation so Govt. would talk to us ... and perhaps bullied or persuaded the Govt.
to pass a Disability Act ... provide rehabilitation, Pass a Cycle (Bicycle) Helmet Law,
and eventually a Human Rights act of their own ...
...
Now Retired ....
did i do my Task ?? .... well hope helping mankind best way i could was a yes ...
oh and disability, yes i am officially disabled, still have anosmia, diplopia and disturbed balance ... but my advice to all newly disabled people ... after a period of rest, recovery
and feeling despondent, it is time get up off your backside and gather what resources
or functions you have left and use those to overcome the losses ....

how this shaped My views on religion and G-d. ....
affirmed for me G-d gave us this gift to overcome all adversity ..
perhaps we should avail ourselves of the ability, the path may be long hard and rocky
and at time seem impossible ... nothing is impossible with the help of our creator
by our shoulder ... it is however our work to do, not requiring divine intervention only
His support ....

religion, many of them, far to much dogma that seems to support the structure or oversight of the belief ... to make the holders or Priests more enriched than the community it claims to protect ....

So Religions ... all with much right (the lessons) all with much wrong, the temples
or Priest structure ...
as for myself i stay with my own .. I am a Hebrew of the tribe of Benyamin the laws
Hashem gave to Moshe for us seem sufficient for a productive life doing no harm.
...
And no i am disinclined to pass any judgement on what others believe ... not my
place or duty.

Shalom 'v Chased ...
Peace and Loving-kindness

Eliab ...
First, that's quite some list of accomplishments against a pattern of disability.

There are many who echo your voice about priests, notably Pope Francis but many others. This is an era when people need to "walk the talk" but too many are not doing so.

I also really appreciate your saluation - Peace and Loving-kindness.

Utoh, Eli, now that I take a close look, #2-4, and 6 and 8 also have problems....lets see if any of the readers of "Avi's" can pick them out...but you provided a nice target....for shooting practice ....;)

Smiles at Sunrise .... always disliked the term "Disabled" particularly all the Drs
telling me i was and to get used to being so !
That and being initially unable to follow Children's Cartoons on the TV made me determined to get function back ,,, so i did sadly it took me 5 years ...
and i always liked work and feeling useful in society ...

It seemed to my perspective that those things i did or caused to be done required
doing someone had to and i seemed gifted with the how ... perhaps Hashem
did most of the work directing me ... I thank Him for all the gifts i have, though
on occasion i will chastise him for sending me back when i was Home ...

I am also perhaps thankful that i no longer am able to feel hate and seldom feel a need to express anger ...

Oh smile The Shalom is always my Greeting , a Jewish thing :)
but the Chased is the Loving-Kindness from Hashem

not mine to give but perhaps a reasonable wish for all

Shalom :D

There are also some problems with this approach...I will leave it to the reader to find the faults in logic.....but it doesn't mean Eli can't be a fine liberal.....;)

Yes and No, Indira....compared to the option of passing through a "wormhole"....as they did in the movie...."Interstellar"...yes, were are stuck.

On the other hand....in this little world, of our forum.....if the folks don't treat us right.....we always have the power of "ignore".....and I have had to employee it of late...to deal with some extremists !!!!..;)

I love space flicks..
Never had to use ignore myself..i picked up a stalker once or twice but dispatched them in short order. I have got fairly good at letting the nonsense pass by. I study human behavior and ignore would undermine a full and balanced view of the human condition. Patience and thick skin has seen benefit from my approach.
I usually have good repor with those of the Jewish Faith.

Shalom, i am somewhat surprised how quiet this topic has become in the 4 days i was

Smile, well it is Sunday where i am on the Planet :p , a nice OJ ?, wow long time since i been called
nice, where i work i am considered more a pedantic smart A** , correct in most things i say but that only irritates them more :).
OK well i don't divide Jews up by how observant, or what their perspectives of belief are, nor in fact how kosher they may or may not be, I work in a City where we only have around 20 Jewish families, considered by the Auckland congregation as somewhat outcast ... We are the Drs, Scientists, Professors, and have moved where the work is ... (We get together informally for Pesach etc.)

Now enlightened, lol i have no idea what you infer, my Study was Biblical History and Literature,
before I did Electrical, Mechanical Engineering etc ....
a "MO" ... i have no idea what the acronym stands for ... could you please elucidate ...

Shalom

Ah, i went searching For MO, with regard to Judaism, wonderful surprise to discover
it is Not Militant Orthodox, nor Moderate, or Mental nor even Meshugga (though perhaps
i am somewhat :p )

Having discovered that there is now a Modern Orthodox movement, and read that it is
somewhat strict in its orthodoxy though from a modern or 21st century perspective,
I had not heard of such a movement so have not joined such .... however the life path
i have taken i suppose could be considered modern ... I work at a hospital looking after
life support ... which on occasion has me called back to resolve an emergency ( amuses
me somewhat as the only problem managers have is i will not fill out a time-sheet if it co-insides with Sabbath) I am also a qualified Paramedic and do not withhold first aid
either.
