Why can't muslims listen to music. I understand if its something inappropriate, but in general. Whats so wrong about it?

I have btw read the quran, and i don't remember any verse arguing against music.

Neither I . To me music is one the greatest mysteries Almighty GOD has ever created . It has that power to stimulate the emotion of the heart . A soul lost in dark found the light through Music , a captived nation acquired its freedom through music , a cruel heart melted like snow by music .

A nation abadoning music and songs is a nation with bones and skulls , no hearts .

It's an old debate but most scholars have issues with songs which have bad, satanic, evil lyrics, but modest good music is fine i guess.
