How do you Interpret?

Who are we to establish interpretations in our time and at our level of sinfullness?
And who are we to declare an intepretaion fact?

So because we are living now and not then we can't interpret? Because we are living at a certain level of sin we can't interpret? Usually you can be pretty sure about something, including interpretations. How would you interpret something or find out the meaning behind what somebody said? Wouldn't you ask a certain set of questions or have some type of criteria by which you can judge what a person said/saying and what a person is/does not said/saying? If you would answer no, you really haven't even thought about it. You do it everyday and don't think twice about it.

Religion is Law
First of all, heed Peter's words.

"Knowing this first, that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation.

"For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they were moved by the Holy Ghost." (2 Peter 1:20-21; KJV).

He also said:

"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given unto him hath written unto you;

"As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to be understood, which they that are unlearned and unstable wrest, as they do also the other scriptures, unto their own destruction." (2 Peter 3:15-16).

Holy Scripture is not subject to private interpretation. If one misinterprets Scripture and later finds the error from God, it will go bad for the one.

James said that we should go to God for answers, not fickle human beings:

"If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth [reprimand] not; and it shall be given him.

"But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed.

"For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord.

"A double minded man is unstable in all his ways." (James 1:5-8).

My response to this may seem a bit blunt, but that's just me so understand I mean no offense here. But how much more hypocritical can that possibly get?

The reason I am not religious is because the more I studied the Bible and the more I asked my pastor questions, the LESS I believed. The worse it all seemed... as if nobody knew WHAT they were talking about and the Bible is full of holes, inconsistencies, re-told stories and even in some places just plain errors.

NOBODY has a hope of interpreting the scriptures with any kind of accuracy. It's ALL guessing and "interpretation". Bear in mind that not everyone who is non-religious has never been so, and could "possibly" know more about the subject than you do. :areyoucra

Never make assupmtions that somebody doesn't understand... maybe they simply don't care  But again I appologize if that seemed a bit harsh or blunt, but I couldn't think of any other way to say that

I don't mind people being blunt as long as it is not out of a spirit of hate or vengance.

"But how much more hypocritical can that possibly get?"

I do not understand why you sence hipocracy in what i put down? could you expand on this a bit?

Faith is a personal thing between you and God. There comes a point in everyones life where faith in God and belief in the Messiah Jesus must come from a personal comitment. Many people mistakenly claim that they where "christian" but what their faith was based on was not God but their pairents or there communities cuture. The real measure of what they trully believe comes when they actually do what you did, investigate their faith. When they reach an age where they have the ability to truly decide if they will personal accept God as God and our Messiah Jesus.

I cannot agree with the help of the Holy Spirit much can be understood. By those who have trust in God. If in knowing "more" leads one to disbelief, then what they found out was not from God but from themselves or another source. Gods wisdom builds faith it never destroys faith.

Oh yes i understand many people understand many things,But they do not understand all they need to understand. Why? Because often what they have been given to understand offends them. Or they see it as foolishness. Or for some other reason choose to reject it. That is their free will decision. Being uncaring is also a factor for some but this is often a result of denying ones mortality.
