That reminds me that not everyone has run'n water & indoor plumb'n.
Here's a Texas kitchen sink....
th

In California they already try to persuade people to reduce daily water consumption.
People don't understand that if the population keeps growing, our water resources will run out. and that Texas kitchen sink will be our fate

It was on fire when I laid down on it.
We call those "farm" sinks (where they stick out from the counter front).
They're the only way to go cuz they're much bigger than the cut-in types

Well, I'm glad to hear that since i just ordered a massive farm house sink to replace my "Texas sink."

We still ride horses to work though.

very interesting. In Italy that kind of sinks are used to prewash clothes before putting them in the washing machine.

A great sink is a thing of beauty.
I still admire our new one as a marvel of function & form.
It was a spendy thing, but well worth it in our ultra-spiffy kitchen rehab.
I designed the cabinet layout, & had cabinet makers build'm custom.
The counter (granite) is extra deep, & the uppers are extra tall.
I like to eat, so I wanted to ensure that Mrs Revolt is inspired to cook.

We're old fashioned too! That's way cool, by the way, about redoing your kitchen - it sounds fabulous and I think you should post pictures on this thread. After all, we're expansive enough around here to allow some wandering out of the kitchen sink and onto the counter tops, right?

I love your sink, and part of the reason I love it is because it's so much like the one we just ordered. :D We're doing a massive overhaul of our kitchen too - my world is about to be greatly disturbed starting October 28! We're putting in soapstone counter tops, a travertine floor, and a fabulous island with a quartzite top. We're also painting the cabinets - moss green for lower and palest green/white for upper. Changing the backsplash (translucent subway tile). We're rebuilding (expanding) our pantry and adding a "coffee station" with an upper and lower cabinet. Oh, and painting all the walls and ceiling and replacing the light fixtures.

We're also adding a gas line - I have a feeling I'm getting a gas stove for Christmas. See, I told you we're old fashioned!

We used uba tuba granite (the cheapest grade) for the counter top,
& maple for the cabinets. Cabinets are so overwhelming in scale
that a light color works best.

This is what uba tuba looks like...
