The list: 1 Corinthians 15:33 Do not be misled: "Bad company corrupts good character."
The word "habits" is translated from éthos which is more than a person's manner. It means customs. Costoms are what people DO, not what people ARE. Strongs 2239 Definition: habit, manner, custom, morals.
The custom of Jesus' disciples is to preach the word.
They have made The Bible mean that if you associate with the wrong people you will become wrong like they are. But it requires two things of you. One is that you consider yourself a good association and the other is that you know how to identify a bad one.
The cross reference in the New World Translation for it is 1 Cor 5:6 6 Your boasting is not good. Do you not know that a little leaven ferments the whole batch of dough?
If people are bad associations then accordingly people are the dough.
Let's imagine the lump is all that makes up the heavenly bread. Let's not imagine the lump means all believers.
Heaven bread is all scripture which is beneficial 2 Timothy 3:16
So bad association means reading something into it that isn't there which means wrong.
Preaching the word but doing it wrong is what 1 Corinthians 15:33 warns about.
