Yes, if it's the shroud stolen from us it should be returned, but as we seem to be extremely unsure whether it is in fact, the Mandylion, I'd say it would be way down on the list. We're still waiting for the return of many more relics that were looted from us by the soldiers of the 4th Crusade and remain in the west: relics that we are sure of and are of great importance to us. Rome has returned the odd one in the past but it really is a tiny fraction of what was stolen.

One thing I have always wondered about the Shroud. Look at the hair. Intead of being to the back of the head, like it should with a body laying down, it is around the head, like a body that is standing up. Another thing I just noticed, the upper legs aren't straight.

But from a physical statement, while a Divne Messenger is on earth, this is a silly statement! Having a human component as well as the divine one, He necessarily sleeps just like anyone else!
And even one of the earliest Protestant hymns, "Away in a Manger," attests to this fact!
