apostate Jerusalem

The Jerusalem that twice apostatized, and that Jehovah punished by bringing against it, first, the Babylonian invaders, and, later, the Roman legions, well pictures another apostate system—the organized religion of Christendom.
Just as the hypocritical rulers of Jerusalem gave lip worship to Jehovah’s Law, so the clergy of Christendom claim to speak for the God of the Bible. But, says Jesus Christ, "by their fruits you will recognize those men." (Matthew 7:20) And what kind of "fruits" has modern-day Christendom produced? i think the facts speak for them selves
It is in Christendom today that we find a bumper crop of immorality, divorce, broken families, drug abuse and crime of every kind. Christendom’s religion has proved powerless to stay the growth of lawlessness. (Matthew 24:11, 12)
How well Jesus’ words apply to its religious clergy! He said"Isaiah aptly prophesied about you hypocrites, as it is written, ‘This people honor me with their lips, but their hearts are far removed from me. It is in vain that they keep worshiping me, because they teach as doctrines commands of men.’ Letting go the commandment of God, you hold fast the tradition of men." Thus Christendom, the modern-day apostate "Jerusalem," together with all other "antichrists," faces "tribulation" from God when the Lord Jesus Christ is revealed from heaven to bring vengeance upon disobedient ones.—Mark 7:6-8; 1 John 2:18, 19; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9 yes they claim to worship the God of the bible ............. but i dont think they do they make their own rules up as they go along ...............unfaithfulness to God leads to destruction :tsk:

is it not true that Jerusalem was twice destroyed by God because of unfaithfulness ?i think the bible is quite plain about that, once in 607 B.C.E. And again in 70,C.E and were they not claiming to represent the true God. it seems that God thought other wise didnt it. and today there is an organized clergy that claims to represent the god of the bible but i think that the teachings are far removed from the bible.

Well...the Romans destroyed Jerusalem in 70 c.e....that's the same kind of logic that says Hurricane Katrina was God's divine retribution against the sinners in New Orleans.

the destruction of Jerusalem did not happen without warning
Jesus Christ had predicted the city’s destruction, and he foretold events that would precede it
In 70 C.E., Jewish Christians could have been killed or enslaved along with everyone else in Jerusalem. However, according to the historical evidence, they had heeded Jesus’ warning given 37 years earlier. They had abandoned the city and had not returned.................... the thing about Jehovahs way of doing things is that when he acts he always makes the way out for his people................ of coarse if they choose not to listen to instructions that is their choice .in our day he is telling his people to get out of( babylon the great ) because she is on the way out and she is going to be destroyed by God
And I heard another voice out of heaven say: "Get out of her, my people, if YOU do not want to share with her in her sins, and if YOU do not want to receive part of her plagues. revelation 18;4

Jerusalem was destroyed by babylon not for lack of faith! THAT IS ONE OF THE GREATEST MISCONCEPTIONS YOU CAN MAKE ABOUT THE KINGDOMS OF ISRAEL!

As Rava said: Jerusalem was destroyed because people of integrity ceased there. Thus it is written: "Run to and fro in the streets of Jerusalem, and look in her public squares; if you can find a man, a person who does justice, and seeks faithfulness, I will pardon her" (Jer 5:1) (in regards to the coming destruction)

its amazing how Jehovah in the past and in fact in the future, can use whoever he wants to accomplish his purpose, in fact the bible even tells us that he can
For God put [it] into their hearts to carry out his thought revelation 17;17
For Jehovah both has formed the idea and will certainly do what he has spoken against the inhabitants of Babylon. jeremiah 51;12
(Proverbs 21:1) A king’s heart is as streams of water in the hand of Jehovah. Everywhere that he delights to, he turns it...................... make no mistake Jehovah can turn things around when ever he wants to and he does

yes thats about it , and religious leaders back then did not set the lead in good things in Jehovahs eyes and so it is today.............. infact people are like sheep without a shepherd , no guidance in Jehovahs ways at all, the religous leaders they make their own rules up . and Jehovah sees every thing that goes on :tsk:

Problem is, Revelation was written after 70 c.e., post-destruction, not pre-destruction...
There has been all kinds of conjecture that many of the NT passages alluding to the destruction of the Temple were written in hindsight, after the event.

 are you trying to say that Jerusalem was not destroyed in 70,c,e i think you will find that it was................
Jesus Christ had predicted the city’s destruction, and he foretold events that would precede it
While Jesus words have their major fulfillment today, they did have a minor fulfillment back then.
revelation was completed in 96. C,E, and it is for our day , the book is revealing many things at this point in time ,and the end of False religion is one of them

Not at all. That event is verifiable historically. Here's what I'm saying:

You inferred that Revelation predicts the fall of the Temple...and it clearly doesn't, since it was written after the fact.

As I said, since all of the gospels were also written post-70, there is conjecture that what was written to appear as a prediction really is not, since the writer had prior knowledge of the event before he wrote. In other words, the writer may have had Jesus say something alluding to the destruction of Jerusalem that he may not have said.

the bible

Where in the Bible does it explicitly say that a) Christendom is apostate, and b) Christendom is the modern apostate Jerusalem? I think you'll find that the answer is "nowhere."

This stuff isn't written in the Bible. It may be your interpretation of what is written in the Bible, though. Again, why the acrimony and judjment?

its in matthew that the destruction is predicted by Jesus
REMARKABLY the prophecy of Jesus, as recorded in Matthew 24:4-22, had a literal fulfillment. That was between the time of his giving it in 33 C.E. and the end of Jerusalem’s "great tribulation" in 70 C.E but the book of revelation is for our day that prophecy in matthew is also for our day it is the major fullfillment that is happening in these last days since 1914

well i think that it is fairly easy to spot who has become unfaithful to God, christendom has taken on loads of false doctrines ,,TRINITY,,,,,,, IMMORTALITY OF THE HUMAN SOUL..........HELLFIRE DOCTRINE..........PURGATORY...........none of which are bible teaching . there is loads more ,to many to mention, it never goes well with those who claim to represent the true God but are unfaithful to him.i know one thing i am out of there ,
It is impossible to serve Jehovah acceptably in such a corrupt and apostate environment.
the instrument of Christendom’s destruction has appeared
Meekhearted ones are wise to flee from Christendom now.

none of which are bible teaching

Why does teaching necessarily have to be limited to the Bible? The Bible forms the basis for the Church's teaching, but as revelation did not die with the Biblical authors, subsequent revelation infers that the teachings will expand beyond simply "what's in the Bible."

Remarkably, the fulfillment of the prophecy occurred before the prophecy was written down...
