The 42 Principles of Ma'at, the Goddess who personified the ideals of Truth and Righteousness, were known to all the ancient Egyptians. The Babylonian Hammurabi Code was a list of 281 law used in Mesopotamia to govern the people. The Hebrew scribes had a total of 613 laws in which the Hammurabi code was hijacked, inserted and presented as new laws from God just as the 10 Commandments were borrowed from Egypt.

The Ten Commandments weren?t given to a person Called Moses on a Mountain top. They can be found in the Museums as part of the Book of The Dead.

Thank you Harold that was interesting, I did some reading on it and found that they were written about 2,000 years before Moses carved on a rock. But I have found many versions of the 42 rules. Now I am interested to find the original. I found some mention of The teachings of Ptah-hotep as well. Do you know how the two fit together?

You are aware long before Moses was given the 10 commandments that Pharaoh set Joseph[whom God was with] over all the land of Egypt. There were men with the spirit of God upon them long before Moses...these men grew up in Egypt, therefore I'd bet they influenced the Egyptian Code. Pharaoh set Joseph over all of his house and it was according to Joseph's words that all of Egypt be ruled. All knees bowed to Joseph.

Yeah I have an understanding of the history of that period as told by the Bible. While digging into the 42 laws I stumbled across the story from Egypts point of view. Now I am wondering if any of this can be proven. I have not been able to verify the authenticity of the 42 laws and the history surrounding them. It makes for a great story with or without the proof but I would like to see some real evidence.

I have tracked down what is called the Book of the Dead of Maiherpri . They were recovered from a tomb in Thebes in 1899. They estimate the burial around 1427-1392 B.C. which places them after the story of Moses. They are at the The Egyptian Museum in Cairo. There were 42 confessions that insured his passing into immortality.You can see the 42 at the link.

The Eyptian Book of Dead were left in the pyramids starting about 1600 BC which should have been before Moses. There are some confessions here as well.

I`m going to reply to rolis previous post because it seems I didn`t see it all the first time as the whole thing is quoted.

About Adam & Eves knowledge of their sin..

Gen 2: 16 -17 And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou shalt surely die. consequences appear here to be eveident and clear

The consequences appear evident and clear to you and I because we have a conscience and knowledge of right and wrong and punishment.

Adam & Eve had no ethics ideas or knowledge that is the point of the Fruit and the whole purpose of the story.
To show where man got his morals and why they are sinful.

Two things...
They didn`t die that day (God lied)
They had no concept of what "Death" was, they had never seen death and death is not something one can comprehend without actually seeing an example of it.
God might as well have told them .."Do not eat the fruit or you will surely feiglikstein!"
Do you know what feiglikstein is?
Me niether...because I`ve never heard of it or seen it.
So the punishment was meaningless to them as well.

If I said to you,from a position of authority, not to go home until your work is finished ,or your fired, what would be the thinking process of a rational mind,

Again..Adan & Eve were as children sinless blameless ignorant.
They were not what you and I nor God called "rational".
They could have rational minds until the understood what right from wrong was and they were punished for understanding.

Would you immediately know right from wrong after such a warning, at least comprehend it. be honest!

Yes..I would immediately know eating the fruit was a really bad idea.
But..I already know what right & wrong is because I am a product of original sin because of Adam & Eves fruit eating.
I also already know what "death" is so I could form a judgement.

It was withheld from them by the no-fruit eating edict.
They had never seen death and there was no one around to discuss it with.
They were clueless.

Would you see the consequences for your disobedience first, and then think of your livelyhood, maybe your family, debt, fear. maybe not in that particular order.

You need to know right from wrong in order to fear.
You need to know what death,sorrow, and pain is in order to fear.
Adam & Eve were like typical children..they were invulnerable as far as they knew.

Do you expect me to believe they would not seriously consider the consequences, they would have to be seriously mentally detached from reality, and if they were created in God's image, I believe they were quite intelligent and conscious of the warning , dangers and immenit consequences.

No..they couldn`t consider consequences because they had no knowledge of the consequences.
They were not detached from reality their reality was different from the one God installed after they ate the fruit.
God changed the rules in the midst of the game.

Serpent is figuritive of a snake in the Hebrew and a creeping thing in the greek as God describes the serpent in Gen 3:14 that he was to go on his belly, eat dust

Serpent is not figurative in this context in either Greek or Hebrew it literally means "snake" or crawling thing.

Gen 3:14 God cursed satan ... put emnity between Jesus and the serpent
satan is a name given to the devil as is Lucifer,son of the morning , light bearer,morning star,the devil, father of lies , deciever, the thief, masks himself as an angel of light a wolf etc, etc, ,but does that do anyhting for you, I believe not because your here to refute and debate and not pursuit of truth.

Satan is never mentioned.
The word used for "Satan" is never used in Genesis.
In either Greek or Hebrew the word used for Satan means "Adversary".
It is a very generic term that is misappropriated to "satan" it is used to describe people who are doing the work of God if the are an "adversary" of Gods enemies.

There is no word for the concept of Satan is an individual.

I will say that satan in Eden is a myth within the myth of Genesis.
Christians almost all believe satan was the serpent but no where does genesis ever even alude to that .
You made it up.

If you were ,how could you possibly think the serpent helped Eve , he brought doubt and , speculation and questioned God's authority and command, decieved and lied , but , do you really see any of this.

I see it all and am thankful for the wisdom of that serpent, and the sacrifice he made to impart it.
I think The serpent helped Eve because without his advice mankind would still be ignorant.
The things you list doubt, speculation, questioning authority, those are all admirable traits for me.
Doubt must exist if one is ever to find the truth.
Specualtion must exist if one is ever to find the truth.
Question of authority must exist if one is ever to keep the truth from being hidden from him.

You have yet to show where the serpent decieved and lied to Eve.

Again how can I have a discussion with some who does not have revealtion of the topic we are discussing ,how can you understand the bible without the spirit of God

It`s just not the same truth for each person.

The truth of this matter, is, we are off topic as I perceive it, I thought I'd share that before I add my final thought and suggest we transfer this thread to the general debate catagory where it has already begun, Ironic!, maybe truth
My final thought in reponse to the fence sennario is that what exactly is truth and how many truths are underlying within the context of the fence.
1) The first truth about the fence is, it was not originally a fence
2)It was a living organism, started as a seed, producing leaves and branches, becoming a tree etc
That must be ultimate and absolute truth to all unlookers regardless of subjective relative interpretaion, it was a tree, that is it.
It is obvious, as we know the definition to be, maybe to another, like the word Allah in the Hebrew, means "oak"
the original truth is, the fence regardless of how it is perceived to those who first set their eyes on it, was a living organism, changed into a particular object according to the perception/imagination of the designer , that is a carpenter ,not God.
3)The truth of the tree is it can be changed in it's appearance, not it's oringinating truth, that it was a tree, we never seem to go back to the basic foundational truth
When the fence was turned into a bridge, you may say it is a house or fence or dog, or whatever you wnat it to be and that may be truth to you, but the fact is ,it is ultimate and absolute truth, I believe, that it was a tree,a living breathing organism at one point ,it came from the dust of the ground, required water and light, etc.etc.
So I agree that the truth, is truth as we perceive it, each time it changes, it becomes another form of truth, according to context, but it will always be truth thatit was a tree, regardless of how many interpretations change it's form, it was a tree!

There are biblical laws written by the finger of God and given by Moses his servant, then there are oral laws given by Kings,rulers and transcribed by jewish lawgivers which helped maintain their personal political and economis power and their image as law givers.

God's law (Pentateuch) was given for the sole pupose of love ,direction and blessing, universally as well his relationship with His people scholars called it "Apodictic "form of Law = demonstrative
God's law was the revealing of God's personal relationship to His people,his character and purpose, ultimately leading to redemption of mankind, as is the whole theme of the word of God,from Adam, to Jesus,
Mesopotamia law was considered case law, scholars called it" casuistic" law from the latin "casu" meaning" case" , they based their laws from traditional court cases and the King bound everyone to it. The King's word or decreed law was considered eternal truth by the people. A s they believed he was sent by the gods.
The purpose of Mesopotamia law was much what today's political system and kangaroo courts decree as law.
The political whims and personal agenda's of human leaders today, as were the Kings then , are basing law on personal viewpoints, regarding, social, cultural and religious issues etc., on what is collectivly agreed upon within a society without discrimination or partiality of certain groups, practices and or people,

We know what happens if we violate and break any of the universal , physical natural, chemical etc laws, they can be altered , and manipulated but there is still a law active under any sort of alteration etc. there is always a opposite or equal reaction,ie: consequence when these laws
Can any of us negate that fact,
Why then, do we some how think that if we violate that internal set of laws ,that everyone of us have within us regardless of your concepts and rational thought on the matter, judgement will be any different then if I leaped of a building.The fact remains punishment or consequence will ,key word, "eventually," come, maybe not immediate always but inevidiablly will come despit all intellectual jargen.
it is a constant that governs and regulates most of us ,if we are not hardened and calloused beyond sensing our human conscience .which actually means ,(con)with and science (knowledge), we know right from wrong down inside us.
Many will attempt to justify and excuse and that is one reason why many people argue the bible ,God AND SIN etc, they hate the light which is symbolic of Jesus, they will not come into the light for fear their of there deeds, much like a crimminal will not hang around the court house or the law

Bold statement although I feel it stems from lack of knowledge. Scripture teaches that Adam was created as a three part being of 1. Spirit, 2. Body, 3. Soul. The day Adam and Eve ate of the "fruit", the image of God (which is spirit) "died" in mankind. This is probably the main theme of the entire bible, regaining the lost spirit of God.

There is no way to explain how I came to arrive at this decision or even notice, expect through gods help. Basically The Commandments, I Ching, numerology and dimensions run in parrel, I have still to research what other beliefs do, yet I presume most are similar, as this makes logical sense to me. Let me start by going over the commandments.

1: You shall have no other gods before me.

2: "You shall not make an engraved image for yourself, nor any likeness of anything that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth: you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them; for I, Yahweh, your God, am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers on the children, and on the third and on the fourth generation of those who hate me; and showing loving kindness to thousands of those who love me and keep my commandments.

3: "You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain: for Yahweh will not hold him guiltless who takes his name in vain.

4: "Observe the Sabbath day, to keep it holy, as Yahweh your God commanded you. You shall labor six days, and do all your work; but the seventh day is a Sabbath to Yahweh your God, in which you shall not do any work, you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your male servant, nor your female servant, nor your ox, nor your donkey, nor any of your livestock, nor your stranger who is within your gates; that your male servant and your female servant may rest as well as you. And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature. He that believeth and is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned. And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

Now if you know the vision of Daniel concerning the ram and the goat this makes sense of the two horns, as Christ came out with two commandments.

Then lets have a look at the I Ching and how the numbers work in eastern culture. For those who do not know the I Ching is about 5000 years old

1. Oneness, I, The thing that everything is made of

2. Couple, complete number, an image

3. Solid object, the building blocks of life, logic

4. Time, movement, flow

5. Waiting, still, disorder, contemplation

6. Man, not enough

7. Heaven, yang

8. Earth, yin

9. Chaos, before completion, to much

If the I Ching were to continue and contain the extra as to match all the commandments it would be a like so theoretically

10. Completion, finished, life, simplicity

11. Love, compassion, peace, harmony

12. Wisdom, noble truth, unconditional love, completeness, humbleness

This would be in keeping with the logic of the I Ching adding an extra expression to the end of the rhythm the same as if you played jazz. It would then make the I Ching a movement of time as every image could have expression, ether hard or soft.

Now if you can see what I am getting at the Dimensions

1 = length

2 = width

3 = depth

4 = time

5 = Gravity

These are where we have got to with science. So what else is there out side the boundarys of all of these? Existence, so from both the commandments and the I Ching let me show you where I think the other dimensions sit. The same as we knew in the past yet the 13th dimension being god and ultimate wisdom not man.

6 = Matter, Physical.

EM waves (radioactivity ect.), light travel through space therefore they have to travel along some sort of existing quark

7 =Anti matter, non-physical.

For every action there has to be an equal reaction so therefore something must theoretically hold up matter or existence

8 = Infinity, unlimited time.

On four we only look at the existence from a now perspective. Yet existence is something larger then that and contained by time; as gravity produces time.

9 = chaos

What can we have out side time?

10 = everything exist on a whole, Zion

For the universe to exist as a whole it must be encompassed

11 = heaven, love

Love as many say adds a dimension to life. The universe works in symbiosis so what ever has created it, must love; we love; as does nature!

12 = wisdom

What ever has created us has immense logic and organization. From looking at what is created we can see it has ultimate logic

13 =god, everything, ultimate oneness, center of the universe

1. Do not worship any other gods including your self, in all ways lean on god, for we do not know, what is in some ones heart. Only god does so let him pass judgement on people. Ok, you get hurt and want to say something back, but do you really know where they are coming from.

No only god does, can you change there heart? No! you can only change there mind but there heart doesnt change.

Only that little voice of god inside them can change them. So lets all leave it up to him so we can live in peace instead of being I and egotistical for it is all vanities.

2. Do not make an idol or any image of god what so ever. How can we worship images, or people every one of us sins even though we dont mean to. God is one and all things in the universe if we look at all religion. We cant help worshiping each other at times, it is just in our nature we all learn by our mistakes; Every last one of us.

We are in the book of life we all have to learn from it; to be tested the same.

Plus when we lean on each other for support we drain each other, if we are not careful! where as if we love through god he makes sure a path is straight.

3. Dont give god any name if god is transcendental and infinite, how we can give him a name? even god only comes from the word good. So how can we take something that is good and turn it into a bad word this is daft yet we all do it and blaspheme! if god is truly the greatest thing in the universe even his name would be to much for us to take so how do we think we can name him.

4. Do not work on the Sabbath which ever day that may be for your culture for there needs to be a day of rest else you over do your self. Meditation is needed ever day in all things as to be in a constant state of awareness, this is need as to be able to be still and trust god in your life. Spend time with people and share in what is good to help spread gods love and peace.

5. Respect and do not dishonour your parents. When it says one farther did Christ not say you have one farther being god. Therefore one mother being mother earth for with out her, we will not survive, we have a symbiosis with her. The same as when you are in the womb.

6. Do not kill anything. If we kill we are one with death. when we eat death we become it. You are what you eat as all is matter and what ever you eat you become.

7. Do not commit adultery to look in desire is as well. For why do we look at each other as sexual objects, it is ok to look at a flower. But to drool over it when it is not yours to pick that is sick and rotting our minds. If we all think in 7 and create in 6 then this is why some times we feel each others thought when in harmony.

8. Do not steal. Why steal? If we trusted as a family there would be no need, because there would be enough. Yet we all fall down to the 1st step and go I want it is mine. Now if the universe moves in time and the tress and plants get what they need in due season so do we, patients.

9. Do not lie we wonder why the world is in chaos of course we are just thinking about our selves.

The truth sets us free dont lie to your kids. It confuses everybody more then if you told the truth. Yes I know it is some times harder but it really does set us free.

10. Do not desire anything of anybody elses because we all feel it in spirit when someone wants something of yours it leaves you on edge.

11. Love one another as Christ loved for Christ was love and we killed him, because he tried to tell us the truth. He was foretold in many faiths for who he was. If the bible wasnt rearranged so as to promote Pauls faith more then Christ we would know this (please read my other article for more info).

12. spread wisdom of all that is good for when we start to be like Christ, Buddha and many others, out of the order of Melchizedek meaning prince of Salem(peace) in the bible and order to the throne of god. God gives us knowledge and it is selfishness alone that makes us keep it to our selfs. Unless we learn that unless we share we will get no where and destroy the world. Which is why revelations speak as it does. So be warned!!

13: If the universe stays in constant balance as does life. People get miracles something hears each one of our thoughts. Therefore if this is the case god must be all things as to be able to alter and cause miracles. So this is the final level as all prophets have learned off something far greater then our selfs.
