Are the DEAD really DEAD??

Death just might be one of the most misunderstood subjects today. To many it is enshrouded in mystery and evokes dreaded feelings of fear, uncertainty, and even hopelessness. Others believe that their deceased loved ones are not dead at all, but instead live with them or in other realms! Still others are confused about the relationship between the body, spirit, and soul. But does it really matter what you believe? Yes... absolutely! Because what you believe about the dead will have a profound impact on what happens to you in the end-times. There's no room for guessing, so I will try to give you exactly what God says on this subject. Get ready for a real eye-opener!.BUT CAN I FIRST HEAR WHAT MY FRIENDS OF THE FORUM HAVE TO SAY ON THIS TOPIC,Thank You

I think the dead are 'alive' in spirit form. Since I believe we have souls, then the souls must go somewhere after our physcial bodies die. I believe we will see them again.

What? You're giving us exactly what God says on the subject...? Don't be so certain about what God thinks! Precise comprehension of the divine is a little beyond our league.

Imo, yes, the dead are really dead. ( Doesn't that make sense somehow? :D )
I don't believe in souls nor in free will or heaven or hell so when you die, you decompose and that's it.

If you're dead, what else would you be but dead? Someone's been spending too much time in the company of Walt Disney's head.:areyoucraDon't listen to Walt, mate...he tells lies.

Surely you will join me in hell? I have extra passes. You simply must bring an amp and your guitar though. We can have us some real fun.

"And he said unto another, Follow me. But he said, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. Jesus said unto him, Let the dead bury their dead: but go thou and preach the kingdom of God."

Luke 9:59-60, KJV

And another of his disciples said unto him, Lord, suffer me first to go and bury my father. But Jesus said unto him, Follow me; and let the dead bury their dead.

Matthew 8:21-22, KJV

and the paraphrase I like to add to this....

'The Spirit (Soul) lives on.....let the dead bury the dead'

Complex bunch of atoms
Energy cannot be destroyed.
What is me or you now, will be giving life to worms and plants, and from there, birds, and small mammals, and from there, larger mammals and humans. We will eventualy be a part of many other lives. Just as we have taken the energy of many millions of dead people before us. Just imagine, we could be using the same energy that Jesus or Muhammed, or Hitler was made from.

Not that we'll know much about it...

death is the opposite of everlasting life(1 Corinthians 15:22) For just as in Adam all are dying, so also in the Christ all will be made alive.

The Bible Says
After death a person: returns to dust (Psalms 104:29), knows nothing (Ecclesiastes 9:5), possesses no mental powers (Psalms 146:4), has nothing to do with anything on earth (Ecclesiastes 9:6), does not live (2 Kings 20:1), waits in the grave (Job 17:13), and continues not (Job 14:1, 2).

Satan's Invention Satan invented the teaching that the dead are alive. Reincarnation, channeling, communication with spirits, spirit worship, and the "undying soul" are all inventions of Satan, with one aim--to convince people that when you die you are not really dead. When people believe that the dead are alive, "spirits of devils, working miracles" (Revelation 16:14) and posing as spirits of the dead will be able to deceive and lead them astray virtually 100 percent of the time (Matthew 24:24).

The soul that sinneth, it shall die." Ezekiel 18:20. "Every living soul died in the sea." Revelation 16:3.

According to God's Word, souls do die! We are souls, and souls die. Man is mortal (Job 4:17). Only God is immortal (1 Timothy 6:15, 16). The concept of an undying, immortal soul goes against the Bible, which teaches that souls are subject to death.

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul." Genesis 2:7.

A soul is a living being. A soul is always a combination of two things: body plus breath. A soul cannot exist unless body and breath are combined. God's Word teaches that we are souls
The body without the spirit ["breath," ] is dead." James 2:26. "The spirit of God ["the breath which God gave him," see margin] is in my nostrils." Job 27:3.

The spirit that returns to God at death is the breath of life. Nowhere in all of God's book does the "spirit" have any life, wisdom, or feeling after a person dies. It is the "breath of life" and nothing more
I hope this has answered a few of your questions or doubts. All that I have written here comes write from GODS inspired word,The BIBLE.If you don't believe in the Bible ,then that is your perogative. But if you do believe, may the Holy Spirit be with you as you study these facts for youself.Thank you all for your opinions, and May God Bless You All.

I'm with FRG001 on this one. I also take it a bit further until it almost become reincarnation. But of course, I've never died... and I never met someone who actually did die. So I really don't know. And I think it absolutely pointless and a waste of time to worry about something that we have aboslutely no knowledge of. Let us focus on now, where our attention should be.
