The Holy Quran is NOT a history book.
The story you refer to above has a very profound and subtle meaning. It is necessary to understand the meaning of names and the symbolism of relationships before you can unlock the real meaning of the story.

Not wishing to indulge in a tit for tat match, have you read the story in the Bible of Joseph's brother Judah's relationship with his daughter in law, Tamar? (Genesis38 v.12-30)
Both of these stories contain wisdom, warning and guidance but only for those who really care to search for knowledge without prejudice.

Finally i am not here to argue but i am here to put the record straight.Abraham,Moses and aaron(peace and blessings be upon them all) were never Yahud(Jews).They were Hebrews.

Summary of my reading as follows.
The land of Israel was given to the Hebrew (Bani Israel) by Almighty God.
There was a convenant between God Almighty and Bani Israel.This convenant was broken by the children of Bani Israel hence the punishment came.The punishment came in the form of curses where they will lose their heritage and identity.they were taken as slaves in captivity and they should have no power to stand up against their enermies.Futher they are supposed to be a very sick and disease stricken people scattered into all nations.The most important of them all is they will nor recognise themselves.Hence if anyone claims to be from the Bani Israel today then he is speaking a lie because there is absolutely no proof.
Today in our advanced modern World even with DNA testing we will still not find out who the Bani Israel is simply because God says in the bible they will lose their heritage,identity and never know their roots.
