I am glad you don't get to make the rules.
Most teachers realize that they have to put "fun" into teaching to make it interesting, kids just wanna have fun,,, yah yah yah.

Seems you wish to turn school into military school, bad bad bad way to go.

I can't agree with that at all. I wore a cross in high school and would have resented having to hide it. It's part of my religious freedom to express that.

My stance is not one of religion nor of jewelry.
I do admire the cross though.

A dildo is quite odd to suggest.
To compare that to a cross?

If you wish to wear a dildo though, I have no issues, the school might though.
They have no issues with crosses, beads and stars etc is far as I am aware of.

they seem to be hiding behind an anti religious agenda.
It started with crosses and progressed.
It didn't start with a default dress code.
It started with "keep your religious believes out of school" and "crosses are offensive"

I am a Christian, so I have no "beef" against religion. And Assad91 is a Muslim so I hardly doubt he has a "beef" either. But we both believe religious expression has no place in public education.

I also happen to believe what Jesus said, that public displays of religiosity are egotistical and they render your devotion meaningless. If you want to display devotion to God, do so discreetly and privately.

If you feel you are right, you need data, I am sorry but i find no logic is blank students, they are not blank DVD's
They have a person, them.
if you remove "them" you remove the 'fun" and they wont learn.
You might as well beat it into them, same results.

Well said. I believe that individuality should be nurtured. Instead of turning students into robots, they should be taught to reason and to question, to be allowed to express themselves. Part of that is a ramping up of arts and philosophy education.

some people think it looks good on paper though.
You know, I have seen plenty of teachers given honers for their well respected work, and what is their "tool"? teach them and make it fun for them.
Nothing says that a kid wearing a cross or anything accepted in schools today clogs teaching, its the teacher that matters most.

I think there are already too many rules in society outside of school. I don't think schools should have more.

Certain moderators here might not be surprised to hear that I have a very rebellious nature. I was made to drop out of school because I ignored the excessive, pointless rules. If the rules were harsher, say if there were school uniforms, I would have fared worse. Schools should lighten up in order to allow people like me to become productive members of society, not criminals.

As a principal I would allow anything until it disrupted someone else.

Yes, great teachers who nurture a love of learning and discovery in their students are a big part of it.
