Uncleanness in Christianity?

In Islam and Judaism certain things are najis (unclean) such as pork, urine etc.

Are there any thing that are unclean in Christianity? Would it be biblical to take a bake a bath and be clean extra before going to church?

I don't thing that's the case. Any thoughts?

Based upon what one hears on the news, same sex marriage, same sex sex, and supporting same sex anything makes one unclean.

Certain Christians do seem to get fixated on one sin more than others. For example the Bible says that Gods hates liars. It doesn't say that about too many things yet many pastors lie about evolution from the pulpit.

As a general rule man is unclean in that we are made of flesh and sin manifests from the flesh. Washing is not what cleans us though. It is the promise that comes from belief in the Savior.

My understanding is that Paul removed most of the Jewish restrictions to diet and ritual cleanliness to broaden the appeal of his new Christianity to the pagans of the Roman Empire. It's why Christians ignore the restrictions against pork and shellfish, despite the fact that they're as important in the OT as the restrictions on sexual intercourse.

I agree.

Given time they will move on to some other mega sin.

though I bet they still brush pedophiles under the rug.

If you buy into that dogma.

No, in the Christian faith there is no such thing as ritual impurity. But there is spiritual uncleanness.

Sin in the flesh, Romans 7:15-18:
[15] For that which I do I allow not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate, that do I.
[16] If then I do that which I would not, I consent unto the law that it is good.
[17] Now then it is no more I that do it, but sin that dwelleth in me.
[18] For I know that in me (that is, in my flesh,) dwelleth no good thing: for to will is present with me; but how to perform that which is good I find not.

Clean through Christ, Titus 3:4-7:
[4] But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,
[5] Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost;
[6] Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour;
[7] That being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life.
