Bible Study-22 (Decrease in Gifts)

We once again find another decrease in these Gifts that was given unto the apostles only just about another four years later, this time going into the Book of Ephesians in the year of 61-62AD, here we once again find the Spiritual Gifts being numbered. We notice that all three times that they were given by the very same apostle Paul, who was then the one and only one that was to had numbered them in all of the three books
We also find that there was a great decrease each time he numbered them after the day of Pentecost, first in the year of 55-56AD there was twelve in the Book of First Corinthian when written. 12:8-“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;”

12:9-“To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit;”
12:10-“To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:”
12:28-“And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.”

Then in the year of 57-58AD we find that there was only eight Spirital Gift in the Book of Romans when it was written: 12:8-“For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit;
12:9-“To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of healing by the same Spirit.”
12:10-“To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to another discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues; to another the interpretation of tongues:”

These tongues are no longer the Spirit of Truth, or the Spirit of understanding coming from the Comforter. Then in the year of 61-62AD we find only five in the Book of Ephesians when written only three years later, we find these gifts that was then recorded, or recognized in the New Testament for the last time in 61-62AD in the Book of Ephesians. 4:11-“And he gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;”

We may wonder why we have found such a big decrease in these Spiritual gifts from the day of Pentecost in 30AD. We also find a big drop from the year of 55AD, as first given in the Book of First Corinthians. Then in the Book of Romans we find yet another greater drop within the year of 57-58AD, then the last in the Book of Ephesians we find still yet another greater drop within the year of 61-62AD.
Finding this big drop in these Gifts only these few years of thirty-two years, we first have to realize that many the twelve apostles of Christ had almost passed on. This was the same as these Gifts was also playing out among man like Christ’s own chosen Apostles, but we also have to realize that these Gifts will never play out when it comes before our mighty God, but only when it comes from the will man. For with man our God will always be there, when our church or friends pray for us our God will be there and hear, but only then that the will of God might be carried out.

The same as we once again find in the Bible, it tells us to go to the elders of our churches, as we find in the Book of James. 5:13-“Is any among you afficted? let him pray. Is any merry? let him sing psalms.”
5:14-“If any sick among you? Let him call for the elders of the church; and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the lord:”
5:15-“And the prayer of faith shall save the sick, and the Lord shall raise him up; and if he have committed sins, they shall be forgiven him.”
5:16-“Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much.”

Then knowing that Paul prophesied this decrease, to find out why we will have to go back to the Book of First Corinthians. We will find this within the first book where these Spiritual gifts were first recognized. Here we find out the reason for this great drop, as we once again hear Paul prophesying, which is also once again in the Book of First Corinthians. 13:1-“Though I speak with the tongues of man and of angels, and have not charity, I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
13:2-“And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so I could remove mountains, and have not charity, I am nothing.”
13:8-“Charity never faileth, but weather there be prophecies, they shall fail; weather there be tongues, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.”

In the Book of Ephesians back in the year of 60-62AD, that Paul was also very concerned in the churches and also the importance of marriage, we find this persistence in the Book of Ephesians. 5:20-“Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;
5:21-“Submitting yourselves one to another in the fear of God.”
5:22-“Wives, submit yourselves unto your own husbands, as unto the Lord.”
5:23-“For the husband is the head of the wife, even as Christ is the head of the church: and he is the saviour of the body.”
5:24-“Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.”
5:25-“Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
5:26-“That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,”
5:27-“That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.”
5:28-“So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.”
5:29-“For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:”
5:30-“For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.”
5:31-“For this cause shall a man leave his father and mother, and shall be joined unto his wife, and they two shall be one flesh.”
5:32-“This is a great mystery: but I speak concerning Christ and the church.”
5:33-“Nevertheless let every one of you in particular so love his wife even as himself; and the wife see that she reverence her husband.”

When we are fighting for the deity of our churches and our marriages we should put everything we got into it, the same as we find in this same Book of Ephesians. 6:1-”Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.
6:12-“For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
6:13-“Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.”
6:14-“Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on the breastplate of righteousness;”
6:15-“And your feet shod with the preparation of the gospel of peace;”
6:16-“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked.”
6:17-“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God:”
6:18-“Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;”
6:19-“And for me, that utterance may be given unto me, that I may open my mouth boldly, to make known the mystery of the gospel,”
6:20-“For which I am an ambassador in bonds: that therein I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.”
