Please stop claiming to be one of Jehovah Witnesses. There is no way a person who says the things you say can possibly be a Witness of Jehovah. There is no such thing as being "sort of one". Sorry.

You keep wanting to interpret scripture for yourself, based on what you think is correct. Scripture is not open to personal interpretation. It never was.

I know you are unwell, but you can't claim to be something you are not especially when you spread so much misinformation. :(

Oh you have to be kidding. Scripture is not open to personal interpretation? Really? Russell interpreted scripture for himself. Was he "unwell"? BTW I am sure that is a personal attack and not allowed. Please stop saying stupid things about me.

I am a Jehovah's Witness as I was baptised one and am not disfellowshipped or certainly not disassociated. You say some very mean things. Do you even know you do? I would call not knowing not well. Are you well?

you spread .....misinformation. :(

It is not OK to spread misinformation. I totally agree. Isn't it true your slave has spread misinformation? I know it's true. How are they different from me please? I am unwell when I do it (according to you). When they do it what are they?

They are always forgiven when they do it. I am always insulted when you believe I do it. Why?

Why do you believe they are better than me?

Off topic but actually there is. I have witnessed YHVH, I am for The Kingdom and I obey The Son. How am I not a Jehovah's Witness? I do not agree with the governing body and I left off going to meetings because I heard an elder (who is supposedly appointed by The Holy Spirit) say "soon six billion hearts will stop beating". They didn't stop beating, did they?

Be assured all you so called Jehovah's Witnesses that Christ's brothers who are among you are there because they have not heard and seen the things I have and you have. I suppose Christ has trusted me with some things that others cannot be trusted with. You can call that unwell if it makes you feel better but you believe Christ has entrusted things to the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses that have not been assigned to anyone else. So, I shall ask you again, how are they different? Are they human?

Are you okay? I wasn't referring to your words. It's an expression which means "I have no vested interest in this debate".

Thankyou. I'm a little on edge. It is not the first time I have been called sick on this forum and others.

I think I can honestly say Jehovah's Witnesses (the modern religion) and ex-Jehovah's Witnesses are the worst bashers I have ever experienced. I do not know anyone who bashes like they do.

I agree they are the largest target on the radar but there are others groups who up to the challenge. I call this kind of religious system a real bondage. When someone is so locked into a creed or doctine and are blind to see the truth. I was involved many years ago with such a group that was not the JW. What a freedom it is when you leave but it is not easy.

It wasn't easy. Other groups are not choosing to be blind for the reputation of The Holy God and God's son, like I believe they are. I do not know.

Understood, I think religion as a whole limits God. If Jesus was angry with anyone in his day it was the religious (Pharisees, Sadducees and money changers)

I am not a tough cookie. Whenever I am insulted my feelings are hurt. And I cry sometimes too. Once out in the field service I was crying over some personal business and a JW pioneer lady saw me. She told me it was surprising to her that I cry. She did not think I did. Huh? They are reflecting their false teachers imo. They hear over and over again that God will destroy every person for the simple reason they do not accept to be fed by "God's appointed servant".

James 3:1 Not many of you should become teachers, my fellow believers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly.

1 Timothy 1:7 They want to be teachers of the law, but they do not know what they are talking about or what they so confidently affirm.

James 1:16 Don't be deceived, my dear brothers and sisters.

James 3:10 Out of the same mouth come praise and cursing. My brothers and sisters, this should not be.

Luke 6:37 Judge not, and you shall not be judged: condemn not, and you shall not be condemned.

Now here I am on a public forum debating (not teaching) where discussion and debate are not only the norm but are the status quo and I keep getting insulted for having a difference of opinion with the "faithful and discreet slave".

The interesting thing is as I have said before is if the faithful and discreet slave got new light about what I am saying and stated to teach it, then it would be sacrosant. But now what I say is because Nancy is "unwell".

I get ignored and insulted for my contribution to the treasury of heavenly things. The governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses, claiming to be the faithful and discreet slave, get(s) flattery, honor and esteem and they are teaching. (see warnings above) They are not only sharing as I am, they are teaching things that they tell their people to store up in heaven. OK. That is not all. They commit every last parent to the work of preparing thier children for the same. I believe it is true most Jehovah's Witnesses would, and do, offer even their first born child to their teachers.

My teacher is a spirit. I have one leader and one lord. That is a bad thing according to peace and security ;)

Ephesians 41Therefore I, the prisoner of the Lord, implore you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling with which you have been called, 2 with all humility and gentleness, with patience, showing tolerance for one another in love, 3 being diligent to preserve the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. 4 There is one body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling; 5one Lord, one faith, one baptism 6 one God and Father of all who is over all and through all and in all

I am being accused of fraud but according to the writer of Ephesians who wrote "one baptism" I am a Jehovah's Witness. That is how I was baptised.

Like it matters I shall say what "sort of" means. I realize nobody cares but here you have it.....

According to myself and of course The God I worship I am a Jehovah's Witness. According to most, if not all, Jehovah's Witnesses, I am not. That is "sort of".

Seeing that there is one person (me) and perhaps another Person (God) viewing Nancy as a JW and billions who do not, I think it is perfectly fair to write sort of.

I belonged to a group called the United Pentecostal Church (UPC) back in 1973 and 1974 and at the time was so hungry for the truth I would eat anything like a baby goat. I was very faithful for a good year and a half but as time progressed on I seem to have lost my first love.
Revelation 2:4 Nevertheless I have somewhat against thee, because thou hast left thy first love.
I replaced it with their religious tithing, religious laws of do’s and don’ts like my hair needs to be cut, had to get dressed up for church, need to preach to the loss because if they do not believe the way we do they are all going to hell, etc. It was a real bondage to a point where I lost my peace. That is where I started really questioning their teachings. I was at a revival service and I was really trying to seek God’s will when I was interrupted for being too emotional. (this was a Pentecostal religious service).

At the same time I got laid off, and my whole world fell apart and nothing made any sense. I learned later this was God’s Spirit breaking my old wineskin and giving me a new vessel. I totally moved and it has been so awesome ever since.

The message coming down from the governing body of Jehovah's Witnesses is 'to leave the congregation means to leave God's protection'. You will be the easy prey of Satan if you are not protected by your presence in the congregation. Even those in the congregation are warned to move to the center of it. The center being more work and a cleaner appearance.

Thank you for sharing your story Benoni. and congratulation. As a member of the UPC did you get the feeling you were being taught that to leave it meant your doom?

I did not get the feeling that to leave meant doom. I did not think of leaving until the feeling of staying felt like doom. I do not fear for them anymore. I do not believe anyone is doomed by God.

Yes I think they really pushed the doom and gloom as much as possible, but what I really loss was my peace. It was like something was really wrong and I could not put my finger on it.

After gainning my peace after a lot of turmoil I read this article called "Let the Peace of God rule" by ray prinzing which is still out there on the web. Here is a little bit from that article: ...peace, the umpire and ruling principle

The word “rule” used in our text comes from the Greek word, “brabeuo”, meaning TO ACT AS JUDGE OR PRESIDENT. Let PEACE be the ruling principle to decide and settle with finality all arising issues. We give three other translations to help bear out the scope of meaning:

“Let the ruling principle in your hearts be Christ’s peace, for in becoming members of one body you have been called under its sway. (Goodspeed).

“Let the peace which Christ gives settle all questionings in your hearts....(Weymouth).

“(act as umpire continually) in your hearts - deciding and settling with finality all questions that arise in your minds - , …” (Amplified).

The word PEACE is defined as: a state of tranquility or quiet; freedom from fears, agitating passions, etc. including freedom from moral confict. What conflict we endure trying to decide if the matter be right, or wrong; not necessarily if it be sinful or holy, but to decide which are the right issues, the right step, or the right stand to take. And so for all of this, what should become the ruling factor in making decisons? LET THE PEACE OF GOD ACT AS THE UMPIRE.

Pondering this “peace principle” one morning, it just seemed as if the Spirit was holding conversation with my thoughts: The word does not say, let revelation be the umpire, to rule in our hearts. This was a thought to consider. Surely a progressive revelation is needed today, in fact it is an imperative necessity. But how often do men cry to God for revelation to decide, settle issues, and if there be no revelation, then they are at a loss to know what to do. Or again, many will seek for a “prophecy” to answer the question. But God does not always speak by just the manner we demand, nor is it wise to run across our land seeking prophecies.

Revelations are the illuminated unfoldings of truth, a spirit-quickening of divine principles which can become the undergirding foundation and the guidelines for our life, providing that stability and knowledge needed to follow on into God’s fulness.

Nice. I cannot frubal you for awile because I have already.

Your sharing reminds me of the Bible scripture that in the day we are expecting "knowledge will become abundant". JWs believe all that knowledge is found only in one place. But Jesus said to expect lightening that does not come to one place.

Luke 17:24 For the Son of Man in his day will be like the lightning, which flashes and lights up the sky from one end to the other.

The wisdom of God can be found in many places. Even among the Jehovah's Witness. Even at the UPC meetings. But I believe those who make a monopoly of it are doing a terrible disservice to their own people, and even to the world.

I have said a prayer for you brother. Peace!

If we allow ourselves to be led to believe there is a place of peace and security, like some religious organizations claim to be, then it is natural to relax out of the armor that God provides;

Ephesians 6:10-18
New International Version (NIV)
The Armor of God

10 Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power. 11 Put on the full armor of God, so that you can take your stand against the devil’s schemes. 12 For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms. 13 Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.

Many people are claiming God is providing protection only through them. If you will believe that, then your salvation is dependant on other people's armor. Isn't that very silly?

The thing is religious man anoints their own because their connection to God is though men. God anoints His own by who He chooses. This is one of the major reasons I do not believe in man having a freewill which is falsely taught as if carnal manhad a choice in spiritual matters. Look at Moses , Saul/Paul and David and all the great men of the Bible. They all had a David type anointing where God called them. Religion has a King Saul anointing where he was choose by the people, God allowed it. But at the same time He was preparing David.
