Dwelling in the Principle
I have been a christian my whole life and im a leader in my church. Porn is something that i have always been against but recently i started watching it. When i first started watching it i felt very guilty and told myself i wouldnt do it again but i couldnt control myself. Also i would only watch lesbian porn. As a christian i have always thought homosexuality is a sin and have opposed gay marriage. So i felt hypocritical that i deny 2 women the right to get married but then go home and masturbate too 2 women having sex.

I have come to the realization that i have no right to oppose gay marriage because just because i believe something doesnt mean i should push my beliefs on other people. My support of gay marriage led me to question my faith and i have realized that there are a lot of things about christianity that i dont like and its not really something i want to be a part of. Anything one night i prayed to satan asking if he was real and if he wants me and i had a very intense spiritual experience that proved to me that he is real and it more than anything i have ever experience while being a christian.

I am mow kind of conflicted, i want to convert but ALL of my friends and family are christian, not to mention i am a leader in the church. What do you think i should do?

Uh...I am rather certain that this question, as it is not related to any dogmas of the faith in question, is within DIR boundaries...so here goes:

Perhaps it would do you the most good to just pay good attention to the questions within your mind (as you said, there were lot of things you didn't like about Christianity) and just try to figure them out separately from any religious context. Then, after becoming true to yourself from objective and neutral viewpoint, investigate the numerous truth systems to find your own?

I think this way you could find the most suitable answer for you, whatever it may be.

If the OP felt a "spiritual" connection to an entity he knows as Satan who are any of us to tell him not to seek answers in Satanism?

I don't think so.

I also think what you experienced was your psyche summing up the courage to explore a part of your mind that has likely been blocked for some years.

After you do something repeatedly you essentially lose stimulation to whatever it is, its always healthy to take a break (and break away) from whatever your typical routine is try something new. The saying goes "You don't realize what you got, till its gone".

I do not partake in the viewing of pornography often, I used too until it I stepped back and realized it was disgusting, to Roman for me.

As far as beatin the hound dog, I mean, it has got to be done or your bollock will turn to stone.

After about a month and a half I suffer from bouts of 'insanity' and have to rinse me bollock.

To the OP:

I wouldn't recommend jumping into it right away. Instead, focus on learning, studying and figuring things out for yourself. Don't take anyone's ideas or proclamations as dogma. There is no dogma in Satanism. Even the Satanic Bible is not dogma and there's many Satanists who don't agree with the Satanic Bible. It was just one man's opinion. Come to your own conclusions.

There's nothing wrong with praying to Satan and asking him for guidance and support. He is like a friend or even a father figure, a teacher who will help you and show you the way. But he exists within you, too. Research world mythology. Look into the origins of Satanism and study the history of myth so you can see the Adversary throughout various human cultures.

The more you learn and grow, the clearer the way you should precede in life will be. If you do decide to actually convert to Satanism, be prepared for much misunderstanding and possibly losing friends. But that's just life's way of clearing the slate and opening you up to new people that are more fitting to this current stage of your life.

In my mind Satanism and Christianity are only titles which you yourself give meaning to. I could consider myself a Satanist, or a Christian, however what I believe and hold to be true in the way of ethics, and morality remains the same. All that changes is the name. To myself, the Christos or the Spirit of Christ, is what some would call Satan, or the Dharma. It does not change the nature of what I feel, only how I identify it.

I got the impression the OP isn't coming back here anymore. I had a talk with him about religion and Satanism in general and he seemed to lose interest when it dawned to him Satanism wasn't some kind of extension of Christianity where you worship the Devil, but a completely different religion. I swear I didn't want to scare him away! It just happened!

Here is what I think you should do: Question everything. Even your "Satanic" experience. That is what you need to do now. Question the Church, question Satan, and question Yourself. You are clearly very confused, which is to be expected after someone has been brainwashed by the world's largest cult for their entire lifetime, and for a single moment—due to sexual indulgence—had an epiphany, realising there really is more to life than what the Church provides. Do not rebound from one faith to another. Do not seek the answers from others. Seek these answers from within. Satanism as a philosophy can really give you something to hold onto, but I think it is very important to have an idea of what you really think about things first. Now go! Make forth the ways of Freethought! Question all that is fed to you! Be an aggressive seeker of Knowledge! Find your independent identity and free thyself, So Mote It Be!

Hold your horses! Don't convert yet. In my experience, in one dream I saw Satan as a horrible beast with a foul smell; he looked like a tall man with a lion's head, black eyes and piranha teeth, who's extremely dangerous to humans. But in another dream, I've met him in an underground parking lot as a rich guy in a black suit and black sunglasses, with MIB as bodyguards. He told me he was "El Diablo" and recommended me to trust more in Krishna (while I was a Krishna devotee). So I can't tell you "no! don't worship Satan! He's dangerous!" nor "Yes! become a Satanist now!". I still wonder if worshipping Krishna made Satan (Kali?) less dangerous to me.

I'd recommend you to first analyze yourself and make a list of what you really want in life. Based on that, pray first repeatedly to your own true, eternal self (spirit/atma) to ask for what you want (guidance for example).

You could try meditating for a while with the affirmation "I am love, wisdom and power" (the famous triple flame of Saint Germain metaphysics). According to what Krishna taught me once in a vision, the "I am" (which I saw as a golden buddha) makes the true self vibrate and release energy. The rest of the affirmation programmes, qualifies the released energy. So you'd bring the energies of love, wisdom and power to your life in this moment where you need them so much. You need love, because if you don't love yourself why would you even solve your own problems? You need wisdom, to know how to get out of your bad situation and power, energy, security. Especially if you'd have to face an angry, closed community to start following your chosen path.

If you find it too hard, if you get no answer or you become unbalanced, it means you don't trust enough in yourself yet or you are too "in the Matrix", your "I am" is too trapped, influenced by matter. Then you'll have to depend on external gods/masters for a while. But the problem of external gods is, they don't always answer, because they're not obliged to.

In any case, my experience is that Jesus (which is really Horus IMO) and other gods will behave differently if you tell them your intention is learning the truth and not following a religion. In the first case what you receive will be strange; so prepare yourself! In the second case, they simply follow the "game" of your chosen religion, so you may not actually gain much.

The Buddhas may help you quickly, because they've made votes to help all sentient beings. But is Buddhism for you? I still don't have it clear where Buddhism really leads one to! Nirvana is understood in different ways by different people.

If you like devotional paths, you could try worshipping Rama; the avatar of Vishnu. Vishnu is considered as God; so you wouldn't run the risk of getting near a probable hostile-to-humans entity. In my experience Rama is easier to approach than Krishna. Rama is like a mixture of Vishnu and Shiva and according to what I've read, he would lead you first to material wellbeing and then finally to his celestial Ayodhya (a paradise). In my case I find this hard because I'd prefer to depend only on my own self. Besides I'm not fond of Hindu culture. But those are maybe silly obstacles from your point of view.

And please, please! Don't get into any cults, unless absolutely necessary. Spirituality is an individual thing. Other people shouldn't interfere unless they help. You'll always stumble on someone that will help. The master appears when the student is ready.

How do you get "Jesus = Horus"?

They have the same iconography and similar stories. Jesus was born from a virgin and Horus was born from the Eternal virgin Isis. A similar deity exist in Assyrian mythology where a Goddess is an eternal virgin but I forgot which one. The kicker though is that the vast majority of Greek and Sumerian deities were adsorbed by the Greeks.

Ishtar became Astarte for example which connects historical references mentioning their adoption into the Greek Pantheon. I forgot the exact reference though.
