Can Women be Perverts?

Sha'irullah

It appears to me that the word pervert is used with heavy association to only males and their sexual oddities. While a female's abnormal sexual behavior is viewed as "freaky" or spectacular in some shape or form.

Does anyone hold any opinion to whether or not females can be "perverts" or perhaps the term is misused?

I encountered this issue during a video chat that involved a particular female I did not like. She was an abundant breast flasher and I called her a pervert. The response was a blank face by men and women. All of in which questioned how I could call a woman "perverted". It just did not seem to register which I found very odd.
Perhaps my standards for deeming a person perverted were just to low.

I caught my wife watching the softcore stuff on cinemax before. She said she was only watching it because it had a really good story, but I know better. Caught her watching gay porn on the internet too. Not lesbian-gay, the man on man stuff, real hardcore too. That one kind of surprised me.

Ummm Let me go look in the mirror........

The person in the mirror looked like a perv to me. But that couldn't have been me.

Definitely. I deal with pervy women every day at work... The number of times I've gotten my butt grabbed my a middle aged woman who's had just enough wine...

LOL... Skinemax with a good story... That's like saying 50 Shades of Grey was insightful...

Issue with me is that I view any sexual behavior as bizarre. So I am often not sure on what counts as truly sexually bizarre or what is normal.
I guess it is more normal for you but I take note of every sexual behavior almost instinctively. Any overt sexuality tends to turn me off and make me avoidant.

Working along side women I know for a fact that they can be as raunchy as men if not more so. When men brag about their sexual exploits it's often very embellished, when women do it's usually true. I used to be shocked at the things I heard and saw. Not anymore.

It is not possible for a woman to be perverted.

And even if it were possible it would not be allowed.:areyoucra

And even if it were allowed they wouldn't want to. :sarcastic

A few years ago here at RF, I had a debate with a man who was absolutely convinced there was no such thing as a female orgasm.

It was hilarious. :D

Sure, women can be pervs, but admittedly, that is a term I generally only use for men.

Now that's true Falvlun. Women can boast in jest about being pervs, but when men do it can be really uncomfortable.

I think there's a real dilemma about this issue that modern society needs to define. We don't look at male pervs the same as female pervs, yet both kinds can prey on our kids. In the case of women who are convicted sexual predators like Mary Kay Letourneau and Debra LaFave, the perversion is often overlooked because of beauty. I remember hearing Radio DJ's who suggested that male victims who come forward are jerks or wimps and should keep their mouths shut.

Yeah, there's this concept that there's no such thing as unwanted sexual attention for a man (well, at least, if it's from a woman, and particularly a relatively attractive one). I recall reading about a recent case of a female teacher having a sexual relationship with one of her male students, and many comments had to do with "Well, the boy probably liked it" or "He wanted it". Imagine the difference if it had been a male teacher with a female student!

I do think it's likely that, on average, more men are overtly pervy than women-- or at least considered as such-- simply because men are generally the pursuers and women are the pursuees.

Men are also generally EXPECTED to be the pursuers.

Gender roles and expectations thereof when it comes to courtship are still very much alive and kicking.

I got tired of being called a "whore" for years in a derogatory fashion. People who want to decide what my sexuality should look like in order to be respected as a human being are being given the middle finger when I wear that term like a badge of honor. ;)

But being perverted is just simply how I think and what my preferences are. I like non-conventional sex.

Well, I'm going to briefly split hairs here just for clarity before addressing your point (which is a good one)....I don't define pedophilia or pederasty to fit under the umbrella of perversion. I see them as disorders that stem from a lust for power and not from sexual desire.

I too have noticed that female-on-male statutory rape is dismissed completely as being harmful to the minor boys, and especially if the female is considered as sexually desirable physically. Typically, the young boy is seen as "lucky" by other adult men for an initiation into adulthood by what looks to be a competent and desirable woman. It is not expected to view him as a victim of rape.

A deplorable situation all around.
