James 1:27 - Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.

Do you 'know' or believe?
Where spirituality is water, religion is a glass - it is a way of shaping people's spiritual inclinations with certain subconscious boundaries and the use of specific terminology and symbolism, the formulation of myths and histories, hymns and parables for communication, reinforcement, emphasis and manipulation of spiritual concepts. It is a way of attempting to inflict/instill structure on the assertion of a spiritual aspect to existence for which investigation of natural phenomena (through science) sheds no light.

Religion is a major cause of war, bigotry, genocide, drawing of invisible lines. All good accomplished with religion can be realized without it. Religion is the most corrupt and useless system known to mankind.

Religions are a way for people to contextualize some of their personal experiences, provide hope for an improved condition, and add in some kind of purpose which is legitimated through belief in some kind of supernatural entities, the belief in which cannot be supported by science or facts of any kind.

What is Religion?

Religion is a form of worship, usually of a god or many gods. There is one true religion, IMO, and many false religions that are based on lies and teachings of men. Jehovah, the true God and his Son, Jesus Christ, forthrightly condemn all false religion. 1 Corinthians 10:20, Judges 10:6,7, Mark 7:6,7 and many other scriptures clearly show how harmful false religion is.

What is Religion?

When this question is asked of scholars of comparative religions, they sometimes reply that, so far, there is no available definition of religion that is broad enough to cover all known religions, yet focused enough to exclude things that are obviously non-religious in nature. And indeed, most attempts to define religion fall short of that ambition, either by being too broad in scope, or by being too narrow in scope. Still, some definitions appear to be more useful or accurate than others.

What is Religion?

Peace be on you.
To answer this question we can compare people who follow a religion with those who do not then we may reach a definition:
1. The religious people believe in something while the others do not.

2. The religious people perform certain acts of worship while the others do not.

3. The religious people seem to follow a certain code for their social and moral behaviour while the others do not.

4. The religious people find a purpose of life and have a definite philosophy towards it, while the others do not.

Now, we can make an attempt at phrasing a definition of religion:

Religion is a system of beliefs and worships which
includes a code of ethics and a philosophy of life

What is main motto of Religion ?

It can be said in various ways:

Pay Rights of God and Rights of God's creation.

or

Recognize Unity of God, worship God, follow the manual provided by God (Revealed Books) to live life peacefully with fellow human being. [According to Ahmadiyya Muslim understandings, It has been the original message, as time passes, corruption corrodes religion into split of belief in One God to many smaller ones.]

Religion in its various forms is a way to codify all those things that members of these religions don't understand.
This is most often done by creating a God figure, or multiple gods/spirits figures. These magical and unprovable entities are credited with bringing about the existence and workings of all things not yet understood.
Furthermore, religions (and more particulaly the churches formed by humans around the religion's concepts) are a way to allow for controlling the public for the good and safety of the public, and/or the good/profit of those humans who lay claim to positions of authority within the church (and by extension, the originating religion) through these few humans convincing the majority that they alone experience a closer connection and authority with the unprovable gods/spirits. (a.k.a. a massive con job, so epic in scope both physically and historically, that even most of the authoritarian figures in its ranks really do actually believe (really, fully, in their 'heart of hearts' BELIEVE) that it is not just wimsy.

The great failing/weakness of all such religions and their resultant theocratic rule is that since they are written codification about things that were once misunderstood, and since scientific studies continue to advance and definitively prove beyond all doubt that the religions' various written assertions are absolutely wrong.....the authority of such religions inevitably begins to wane and eventually collapse over time and the advancement of civilization.

The failing religions/churches either:
1.) persecute those who bring forth proofs of the religions failings.
2.) convince fewer and fewer followers, until they cease to exist.
and/or 3.) change.

========================
PS. - the value of religions and their mottoes (sp?) comes from the core edict of almost every one that has ever existed regardless of name: an edict that exists even in the utter abscence of any and all religions.....and that edict is this:
The Golden rule. Don't worry about all that, and do unto others as you would like them to do unto you.
Or more concisely......

"Chill out, and be nice."

What is Religion?

The art and skill of being at peace while attempting to be fully aware both of one's own nature, limitations and shortcomings and of one's own desire of connection to higher purposes and values.

What is main motto of Religion ?

It depends entirely on how succesful it is. It can run the full gamut from "Here, have some ready-made meaningless answers to keep you distracted" to "Be sincere and accepting with yourself, without ever straying away from an equally sincere desire of transcendence".

What is different between religion and god?

Religion is a basic need for sentients such as humans. God is a particularly questionable tool that it created and that is usually misused, creating lots of confusion, loss of effort, and even all-out corruption of purpose. Nevertheless, it can be very constructive and useful when used wisely.

What is different between religion and god?

This is comparing apples to oranges but one could say what is the difference between religion and God's nature. I believe as long as the religion is God made there is none. If it is man made it is most likely contrary to God's nature.
