On http://diary.jonpearse.net/ you will find comments on the find of a sarcophagus, claimed to be that of James.
And how it was shown to be made up? That whole article seems more like the 'question what you believe' type, than evidence of anything. I do agree with him on the asking the 'why' question, if only because it strengthens what you believe in and it opens your mind to the search for knowledge.

It was a bone box and examined by experts who deemed it a forgery. The lettering was not done the same time as the box was created.

"To preserve Mary's perpetual virginity, some people interpret "brother" either figuratively or as "cousin""

what i take it as, not to preserve her virginity, but he could have been a *bro*. you kno, like a really good friend (brotherly) type of person to jesus.

the world may never know.

What makes people think sources that discount Jesus are more reliable than the Bible. Obviously, there has been great study of the subject by very smart people, and people who dedicated much of their lives on it. If they found favour with Jesus, how can you profess otherwise?

Jesus said that an evil and adulterous generation will not receive any signs. I need no evidence to believe in Christ.

Because many of the best sources are known to us unlike the sources for the Bible.
These sources can be questioned, and their bias studied, unlike the Bible.

Beause these sources have been questioned and their bias studied.

i dont need no evidence, cuz i dont believe in Christ. i believe in God, and God only, and for that i dont need proof, i have my life, my talents, my parents, my oppertunities, my friends, my enemies, this world, you. i see God.

People dedicated their lives to disprove Copernicus and Galileo. The people were wrong. Reality professed otherwise.

Why is the modern Bible not reliable?
First of all, there is no clear author.

It has been edited numerous times. It is nearly certain that the meaning and content of many passages has been twisted to suit the needs of the ones in power.

There is no other credible source which can verify the facts of Jesus's life as presented in the Bible.

Bible is no more credible than the Greek mythology or the Ramayana.

What if I say that I am God and that only the evil can fail to see it. Would that make everybody evil and would that make me God?

There is no proof of the miracles Christ did outside of the Bible. The fact that it is accepted by a huge number of people no matter how smart or how foolish does not make it right.

Hundreds of smart and intelligent scientists and mathematicians ridiculed the idea of Thomas Young that light is wave in the beginning of the ninteenth century. Yet Thomas Young was not wrong.

Actually Tom it`s not "nearly" certain.

It is certain and proven.

This is the logical fallacy of "appeal to authority" - just because an acadamecian, the Supreme Court, the President, the founding fathers, etc. believed something to be correct is not a valid argument for its proof.

This is why it is called "revealed faith". You are more than welcome to believe anything you choose - just don't try to support a revelation with logical reasoning and rational thought. You'll get your legs cut out from under you by people that think their way through arguments.

May you find peace with your God,

Skills101, no one can offer you 'proof' of what you seek, I'm afraid. If you want a good, challenging read, however, I suggest 'The Case for Faith' and "The Case for Christ' by Lee Strobel. He was a former atheist, as well as a journalist, who became a believer after researching on his own into the evidence for and against Christianity. I just recently read them and found them very, very interesting. ;)
