In point of fact, the Lord is king. Is this not true?

I am saying that the return of Christ is an important event which I think one would be wise to be aware of and prepare for because I think there are indications it will be soon. But I didn't say that we should sit around and stop talking about or dealing with other important issues.

Any minute now, he will be back any minute.
This has been Christianity's outlook for over 2 thousand years and still nothing has happened. If you think the signs are of god I can assure you they are just the works of idiotic politicians ruining the government. :D

Hmmm it seems people have been preparing for that and seeing the "signs" ever since he died :p

Yeah, he promised to return "before this generation now living" has passed away, which has since been interpreted to mean every generation "now living". Neat trick!

The Carpenter is king of nothing.
Whenever the crowd or His disciples spoke of such things he would leave.

Of Himself he did say...'brother and fellow servant'.

And which would be better?
To kneel?....or to have His hand own your shoulder as fellow servant?

Most of the prophecies relate to the Messiah or the nation of Israel. Some Bible scholars say about 300 have been fulfilled by the birth, life, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. You can research this yourself, it is not that difficult. There are too many to list here, but a few are:

He would be born in Bethlehem according to the prophet Micah (5:2) approx. 700 B.C. and Jesus was born in Bethlehem in Judea.
He would cause the deaf to hear and blind to see according to Isaiah (29:18; 35:6) approx. 700 B.C. AND Jesus healed the blind and Jesus healed the deaf and the blind (Luke 7:20-22)

He would enter Jerusalem riding on a donkey according to Zechariah (9:9) written about 520-518 B.C. and Jesus rode into Jerusalem

He would be betrayed for thirty pieces of silver according to Zechariah(11:12-13) about 520-518 B.C. and Jesus was betrayed by Judas for thirty pieces of silver which Judas took back to the chief priests and threw down in the temple. This money was used to buy a potter’s field. (Matthew26:14;27:5-9)

He would be an offering for sin and bear the iniquities of others according to Isaiah 53 as Jesus’ death fulfilled and was recorded in the gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John.

Then there are numerous prophecies about the nation of Israel which have been fulfilled and which you can also research yourself. A couple prophecies of importance for today which directly relates to the return of Christ is the fulfillment of:

It shall come to pass in that day That the Lord shall set His hand again the second time To recover the remnant of His people who are left, From Assyria and Egypt, From Pathros and Cush, From Elam and Shinar, From Hamath and the islands of the sea. Isaiah 11:11

Israel miraculously is a nation again since 1948. No other people group in history has been dispersed throughout the world for over 2000 years and then become a nation again in their original land....ever.

And

Behold, I will make Jerusalem a cup of drunkenness to all the surrounding peoples, when they lay siege against Judah and Jerusalem. 3 And it shall happen in that day that I will make Jerusalem a very heavy stone for all peoples; all who would heave it away will surely be cut in pieces, though all nations of the earth are gathered against it. Zechariah 12:2-3

The world is on edge concerning the volatile situation surrounding Israel and the U.N has devoted nearly a third of its deliberations and resolutions to Israel, a country with less than one-thousandth of earth's population. The United Nations has never condemned the Arabs for their terrorism but has condemned Israel more than 370 times for defending itself.

There is overwhelming evidence of fulfilled biblical prophecy for anyone who sincerely looks for it.

None of the prophecies about Jesus can be evidenced. They are as useful as prophecies on greek myths. A greek myth tells you of a prophecy and then tells youu how it was fulfilled, but so what? You dont know if the fulfillment really happened either.

Then the other prophecies are self fulfilling. They happen because of the importance people give to the city because of the religiousness they put in it because of what they think God said about it.

Bt if so little is necessary to give you awe

God's Word gives a reminder:

Above all, you must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires. They will say, “Where is this ‘coming’ he promised? Ever since our ancestors died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation.” But they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed out of water and by water. By these waters also the world of that time was deluged and destroyed. By the same word the present heavens and earth are reserved for fire, being kept for the day of judgment and destruction of the ungodly. But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.
But the day of the Lord will come like a thief. The heavens will disappear with a roar; the elements will be destroyed by fire, and the earth and everything done in it will be laid bare.
2 Peter 3:3-10

It is true that throughout history Christians have been awaiting the return of Christ and it has not happened... yet. Nevertheless, Jesus' own words were to WATCH for certain things He indicated would occur, which a person paying attention and watching for would then know the end of the age and time of His return was near...because there is a time when He will return.

Yup. Got all the bases covered. The scoffing isn't because it genuinely is a scoff-inducing proposition. Oh no, it's a SIGN!

This. Jesus said "this genereation" will not pass. Then of course the prhwcies unfulfilled are completely overlooked.

This prophecy has not been overlooked. It has been fulfilled with the rebirth of the nation of Israel in 1948 and Jewish control of Jerusalem in 1967.

"Those who study the Word of God recognize the restoration of Israel as the primary sign of the end of the age. Jesus promised the generation that witnessed this event would also witness His return. Matthew 24:34

Long ago the Bible predicted these events would transpire in the last days:

1) The gathering of the Jews into their homeland
2) The rebirth of Israel in a single day
3) The rebirth of Israel in the year 1948
4) Israel's possession of Jerusalem
5) The nations of the earth aligned against Israel
6) The war of Gog and Magog
7) The rebuilding of the Jewish Temple

Five of these seven prophetic events have already been fulfilled, and the final two are certain to follow. Jesus told his disciples the primary sign of His soon return would be the restoration of Israel:

"Now learn a lesson from the fig tree. When its buds become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know without being told that summer is near. Just so, when you see the events I've described beginning to happen, you can know his return is very near, right at the door. I assure you, this generation will not pass from the scene before all these things take place. Heaven and earth will disappear, but my words will remain forever." Matthew 24:32-35

The fig tree Jesus refers to is Israel. It's been six decades since Israel was once again declared a nation against all worldly odds. Jesus promised that the generation which witnessed fulfillment of this prophecy would not die off until all the things of which he spoke came to pass. Given the past credibility of the Bible and God's Son Jesus Christ, we should fully expect these events to come to pass. What this means is that Jesus is
going to return soon, within this generation. A wise person will prepare accordingly."

Chop chop Jesus. Time's a-wasting! 1948 was 65 years ago. That's a heck of a lot more than a generation.

Well after I am done eating my food rapidly I may pay more attention to what the Bible has to say but the fact still stands that Jesus's words are not coming to fruition.
Words from a book with no evidence mean absolutely nothing in the realm of physicality and rationality.

I know Christians who died before 30, ever seen a Somali kid get beheaded? I have known pastors to die young as well.
Lots of Asians live to be 90 and I know one who is past seventy years and curses the Christian god daily in honor of the Shinto.
This sounds like poor science.

Self-fulfilling prophecy. The people who reinstated the nation of Israel were fully aware of this prophecy, and it could easily be said that they deliberately reinstated the nation in hopes of helping Jesus along. IOW, had that not been one of the prophecies, it's just as likely that Israel might not be a nation right now.

Also the bible mentions that no one knows when the father is coming not even the son. So by you "knowing" it is now you have proven God wrong. You have caught yourself in quit the predicament. You can day we are mocking you an maybe we are a little bit, but I would say you started it by creating a thread claiming that "the lord in in fact king" don't expect people to disagree with such erroneous claims and say it is full filling a prophesy, that is yet again self full filling.
