New Moon Witnesses!

Hi New Moon Witnesses,
Blessings to you through Messiah Yahushua, My YAHWEH and My ELOHIM!
This thread is not for everyone. It is for those who are witnesses to the New Moon! Please feel free to give your testimony.
In biblical times, the New Moon was proclaimed to Israel by lighting bon fires upon the mountain tops of Israel (see Rosh Hashanah 22:b).
I personally believe that the physical practice of the Torah is a shadow of that which is now taking place in the spiritual. In other words, if bon fires are ignited on the top of mountains in the physical, what does it means if tongues of fire are ignited on the heads of the Apostles of My Messiah Yahushua in the spiritual?
Thanking in advance any that should moved to reply, I am,

Sincerely, Latuwr

What do you really want to debate about Rosh Chodesh ?

You may like the same faith section, if you dont want to debate.

Who says that I am seeking to debate? I am seeking witnesses to the New Moon. Are you yourself, Outhouse, a witness to the New Moon?
Sincerely, Latuwr

Interesting. I don't usually think of the monotheistic traditions having lunar rituals. I saw the thread title and assumed it was something Pagan.

The only sort of new moon ritual I've really done is housecleaning. I try to remember to do it every new moon. I sometimes forget. >_>

Jews do mark the New Moon as a minor holiday. And there is also a short additional prayer service we say as the moon waxes past majority toward full, also. Some Jewish women have also made the New Moon something of an informal women's holiday, with gatherings of women to mark it in various ways.

That being said, the calling of witnesses to report the New Moon, and the lighting of signal fires and use of messengers, which the OP refers to, is something we haven't done in many hundreds of years-- perhaps a thousand years or more. But then, the OP is apparently some sort of Judaizing Christian, not a Jew, so I expect it is par for the course.

I, too, thought it was some strange Pagan related thing at first until I noticed what section this was in.

Who says that I am seeking to debate?

I think it has to do with where you placed this thread. It's in a debates section. So naturally, people are going to assume you have something to debate about. A stance you wish to defend against opposing points of view. If you are not intending to debate anything, but are instead just seeking others to speak with who share your views to discuss them, then you may want to ask that this thread be moved to a more appropriate place.

Hi New Moon Witnesses,

The men of our assembly felt an obligation to visually sight the New Moon each month. Of course, this obligation is biblical (see Leviticus 23:2&4, Deuteronomy 16:1).
We found that seeing the New Moon of Abib required that we should keep track of all the New Moons; otherwise, how would anyone know whether a New Moon was actually the New Moon of Abib? If we did not properly establish the first New Moon of the religious year, how could we seriously proclaim the Feast Days and Holy Days of YAHWEH ELOHIM?
It is a very simple system that YAHWEH ELOHIM has commanded. Go outside and look for the New Moon. When you see it, then you can determine when the holy days should be celebrated.
If any of us sighted the New Moon, then we had an obligation to communicate with each other and let our brothers and sister know that the New Moon had been sighted.
Those that see the New Moon are witnesses of the New Moon. Naturally, this only applied to the men of our assembly. Our wives could not be witnesses of the New Moon by themselves. They could look for the New Moon, but their testimony apart from their husbands was not accepted in establishing the month.
This tells me that in the spiritual, the spiritual New Moon is not established by women. It is established by the HUSBAND!
Thanking in advance any witnesses that should be moved to reply, I am,
Sincerely, Latuwr
P.S. What can I say? Shall we debate?

I don't think there is a tie in. Certainly none is mentioned.

Hi Muffled,
Blessings to you through Messiah Yahushua, My YAHWEH and My ELOHIM!
Shabbat Shalom!
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to change your thinking.
May I ask you a few questions? My Messiah said this to HIS Disciples and to the People (see Matthew 5:1 and Matthew 7:28-29):
Matthew 5:14-16
14 Ye are the light of the world. A city that is set on an hill cannot be hid.
15 Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
16 Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.
Can we agree that the world exists in darkness? It is written that the Moon rules over the darkness. Can you tell me when Jews became the light of the world? If they are the light, then Jews are the spiritual Moon. When did this spiritual Moon begin to give its light to the world?
If you can answer this question, then you will know that the physical Moon is indeed a shadow of a hidden spiritual reality. How can it be said that Jews should give their light to this dark world? Indeed, what is the nature of the light that they must give to the world?
Thanking you in advance should you be moved to reply, I am,
Sincerely, Latuwr

Shabbat Shalom!
I asked you:
"When did this spiritual Moon begin to give its light to the world?"
And I received no answer, so may I give answer? According to the Scriptures, Israel became the spiritual New Moon at the Exodus:
Exodus 12:2
2 This moon shall be unto you the beginning of moons: it shall be the first moon of the year to you.
Israel became the light of world through her deliverance from the slavery of Egypt. She was a New Moon because Egypt, the power of darkness, which is in itself slavery, was no longer in control over Israel because Israel was now directly following the directives of YAHWEH ELOHIM exactly as the physical moon follows the sun across the sky!
Funny thing about a new moon, it grows in significance each successive day of its existence. Each day, the light becomes stronger. While Israel was in the Wilderness, no one in the world could see her light. The world was completely unaware of her existence, but this circumstance does change. The light grows stronger each day.
Does any of this make sense to you, Muffled?
Thanking you in advance should you be moved to reply, I am,

I'm moved to say...more power to you, if you and yours find this to be the right path. May you continue to have fun incorporating the moon into your worship and silencing your wives.

I wouldn't make it in such a faith. I'd put my husband on the couch, if he rejected my testimony or dare tried to silence me.

Hi Muffled,
Blessings to you through Messiah Yahushua, My YAHWEH and My ELOHIM!
Shabbat Shalom!
I asked you in speaking of Israel, whom My Messiah Yahushua did say is the light of world:
"Indeed, what is the nature of this light that Israel must give to the world?"
May I give my answer? According to the Scriptures, the Law is light. Consider:
Psalms 119:105
105 NUN. Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Psalms 119:130

130 The entrance of thy words giveth light; it giveth understanding unto the simple.
Proverbs 4:18
18 But the path of the just is as the shining light, that shineth more and more unto the perfect day.
Proverbs 6:23
23 For the commandment is a lamp; and the law is light; and reproofs of instruction are the way of life.
Unmistakably, the physical doing of the commands of YAHWEH ELOHIM give light to our dark world, and no only that fact, but the very doing of the Law gives life to those who do what the Law commands.
It is not by accident that the giving of the Law and the giving of the spirit occurred on the exact same day. Of course, this day is Pentecost!
Today is a great day. May your light shine! How exactly, Muffled, does your light shine to the dark world?
Sincerely, Latuwr

Islamic year is lunar, men are instructed to wear silver, the mother is seen as the stepping stone to the afterlife, the month change involves the new moon thus Ramadan, Dhu al-Hijjah, are signified by the new moon.

That said it will take more than such MASSIVE hints from Muhammad to make most men take any notice of X chromosomes...their own...or anyone else's...

Hi Dawny0826,
Blessings to you through Messiah Yahushua, My YAHWEH and My ELOHIM!
You asserted through your testimony:
"I'd put my husband on the couch"
The Children of Israel did in their history often reject YAHWEH ELOHIM as their head eventhough HE was husband to them. So, I must admit that Israel did put YAHWEH on the couch through their unwillingness to remain submissive and silent before HIM.
What happens when the wife kicks her husband out of their marriage bed? I can tell you what happened with Israel: She invited lovers unto herself, and she became unfaithful to her husband as she began to chase after others.
Even so, YAHWEH remained faithful to the House of Judah and constantly encouraged her to repent of her folly and to only follow HIM. It is only through loving YAHWEH completely that one can become the moon that rules over the darkness, and lest any should think too highly of themselves, it is YAHWEH that develops this love in HIS wife. So, it is best to remain submissive and silent before HIM.
Thanking you in advance should you be moved to reply, I am,
Sincerely, Latuwr
