I have been wanting to bring up this topic for a while but have been to insecure about my beliefs to do so. Things have changed and now my curiosity is getting the best of me, so here gos.

Do you all think that Wicca will grow to be as big as Christianity? I am not wanting to open up a can of worms here. Just wanting to satisfy my curiosity.

wicca has many great appeals to people who do not conform, but rather, hold to their own individuality.

wicca has a lot of potential to rival christianity as a religion, but im not concerned about that to be honest, what would concern me however would be if wicca became organised

one of the main attractions of wicca is that it is not an organised religion, with denominations and structures - its a free religion, to make it an organised religion would be to destroy its very essence ........ in my oppinion

Honestly? I'd say no. Ya'll don't proselytize enough (this is not, mind you, a criticism).
That is a good point. If Wicca was to gain enough popularity it would probably come from self interest in the religion rather than outside promoting.

i normally think religion should be kept away from politics, however, in the case of wicca, i would love to see tony blair and george bush running sky-clad round stone henge :biglaugh:

I agree with what Mike said. That was one of the many attractive points that Wicca offered. I do not follow the same path as other Wiccans and to organize it would be to add rules and regulations that in my opinion would hinder Wicca. Not to changes topics but this is also one of the reasons why I have no problems with combining Christianity with Wicca at least from my Wiccan view.

I would probably be Wiccan. But I like rules and order too much. It's the direction humanity likes to take in general. It's what causes things to function. But out of curiousity, what stops Joe Schmo from changing the definitions/spirituality of Wicca? At some point I'm thinking you would have to tell him something like "That's not Wicca!" See what I mean.
