What is your favorite proverb?

What is your favorite proverb? It doesn't have to be scriptual, it could be cultural, ethnic, etc.

Here's one I like

"A friend loveth at all times." (Proverbs 17:17)

James the Persian

Dreptcredincios Crestin
A Romanian one that always made me chuckle (and is often appropriate advice in forum debates):

Nu te pune cu prostul, căci are mintea odihnită.

Roughly translated as 'Don't argue with a fool because his mind is rested'.

James

I like "Too many cooks spoil the broth." No, I think I like "Many hands make light work" better.

Perhaps, "Look before you leap"? Or, "He who hesitates is lost"?

Hmmm... this is strange...

"Birds of a feather flock together"? No, that can't be right, because "opposites attract"

Oh well. *shrugs*
