Welcome to the forum! If you decide to be baptized, be baptized to The Lord and not to men.

Hi, welcome to RF. :) Adults can be baptised into churches. I was baptised as an adult.

If you want to be baptised, I recommend phoning your local church and explaining your situation.

It is my opinion that baptism is not necessary to be approved for spiritual progress. If you feel you are really being led to baptism, then I recommend it for you. If The Lord is leading you to baptism, I believe the way will become obvious and you can choose to take it or not. It will not make the difference between salvation and condemnation (but that is just my opinion). Infant baptism is not the same as being baptized to The Lord imho.

I don't think that it is necessary to be baptized, because the revolutionary on the cross with Jesus wasn't and he went with Jesus to Heaven, he only believed. However I do think that it is important as a gesture of obedience to God. Our church doesn’t baptize infants, we only baptized those individuals that can make and have made a conscious decision to follow Christ, similar to what John the Baptist did.

You are doing well! The Lord said "you cannot turn even one hair white or black" Matthew 5:36. With baptism can you? No! You can still not turn one hair white or black. Peace!

That's okay. You could be baptised in a private ceremony instead of during a church service. Don't be afraid to ring the priest. Let him know you're afraid of crowds.

How many people do you feel is a crowd?

Please do not be moved by men or by fear to be baptized. If you ever feel it is right for you, it will not be hard to do.

I agree with Odion.

I think baptism is one of those things, that if you never do it, it will always be in the back of your mind bugging you that you need to do it.

It is pretty scriptural too...

I'm Mormon, I believe baptism - performed by someone having the proper authority - is essential for Salvation. We also believe that you don't have to be baptised in this life though, and do temple baptism work for those who have already passed beyond the veil.

Mark 16:16 It has come to my attention that the gift of salvation does not mean that one's self will be delivered to the place of God. It means the person who chooses to imitate The Lord will have some little power in himself to save. It does not mean "be saved", it means "to save".
